I have 2 co-workers who are in egypt now. I wish I had told them to bring me some wines back. Next time I guess. QOTD: Anything relating to superheroes.

QOTD: my current favorite T-shirt is hard to describe…I got it at clearance at TJMAXX for $8. It looks a little like a photograph of some old warped looking trees with a water base…I get a lot of compliments for it…

S-QOTD: I actually HAVE had Egyptian Wines before….mainly the Obelisk (that you tasted), but they have changed their labels (and actually the spelling of their name now that i think about it) a few times since I’ve had it. My family lived in Egypt for about 5 years, and I think that was only of the only (locally produced, non-black-market) wines that we could find.
Although it looks different from the last time I have tried it, it doesn’t look like it tastes any different. My dad used to toss the bottles in the freezer before opening them.

I really got a kick out of this episode, and have forwarded it off to my siblings (who graduated HighSchool there) and to my parents…and i’m sure it will bring back quite a few memories….

QOTD: hrm….favorite T-Shirt….I do have an EFF.org shirt that really like wearing (I got it the first time i became a “member”)

Thanks Gary!!! you to amazing work!!!

yo… love the show on egyptian wines. Make sense that there would be some good wine from that region and I am sure there is.

    Thanks for the show.

My favorite tee shirt is no longer with us. It was purchased at a Page & Plant show in 1995. RIP favorite tee shirt!

Egytian wine – Very diplomatic in his comments regarding egyptian wine.

There MUST be a lively egytptian wine out there somewhere that could hopefully score higher than 59. Will you try other egyptian wines on your show ? I’ve never tried egyptian wine but then I don’t want to try a 59 or less.

Great show by the way ! Keep up the fantastic work.

Wait, which episode was I suppose to leave a comment on to get the schwag? I left a comment yesterday, but I think it may have been just after 7pm your time. :-( But the new episode wasn’t up yet!

I’ve never had a wine from Egypt… I’ve also never heard of wine from Egypt! Next time I see one, I’ll give it a whirl.

BTW, last night drank the 2003 Cantine Martinelli Sagrantino di Montefalco that you scored 91+. LOVED IT! I rated it before watching the episode again and amazing how similar our notes were. Man, I love the wine just as it touches my palate. One of the most beautiful feeling wines in a while. My note:

9/3/2008 rated 91 points: Very dark. Lots of powdery chalk aromas, moldy blueberries, epoxy glue, funky soil, and brussles sprouts. Initial hit on the palate is so beautiful and soft showing tons of of bright fruit (raspberry, blueberry), but as it gets splashed around becomes dirtier and drier. This wine transitions on the palate so profoundly; amazing. Finish is dry with quite a bit of funk, then pepper, and wet wood, before winding up at some fruit (plums) hidden beneath beans. 91+, bordering on 92.

QOTD: Uhh… I guess that’d be the T-Shirt I wore at every Oregon Duck game for the last two years when we had Dennis Dixon. “Dixon Your Mouth” it read… take a gander! http://www.cafepress.com/duckz.35065491

A decent show kind of a let down, but did open me up to Egyptian wines so that’s cool.

QOTD shirt causes some controversy when I wear it, but I think its pretty cool!

Awwwwwww, dude! I so rarely miss commenting on an episode straight away but yesterday I missed it!!! I’ve commented on every episode I’ve seen since I started watching! That’s bs! My lack of a schwag pack is totally uncalled for!!

My favorite t-shirt is the one I bought in Montpellier! (Good times!)

Never had an Egyptian wine and they really don’t peak my interest. Love the short show though…

QOTD: The one I love the most is a white shirt that is very big (sleep in it) and it says on the back “Uncross your legs and straddle a saddle”. I ride horses!

Can’t wait to see what the schwag is!! You ROCK!!!
