Never had an Arizona wine. I see no reason they can’t be great though. Arizona has some temperate zones, it’s not all blazing desert; though regarding the QOTD: I always think of the Road Runner! *Meep Meep*

Never tried an Arizona wine due to the fact that the Liquor Borg here in Ontario sucks!. I have been dying to try one of the wines from Caduceus.
C’mon Gary, get Maynard on the show and do a tasting! I cant get my hands on any, but at least I would be able to vicariously taste through you guys!

QotD: Never had an Arizona wine. Wouldn’t mind trying the PV. When I think of Arizona, I think of my friend who just moved to Phoenix. Poor sap. Haha.

I’m surprised you only gave the Callaghan a 90 with as much as you were liking it…

QOTD: Never been to Arizona, and I haven’t had any wine from there.

I have a magazine and website about Arizona wines and am happy to see you reviewing them. Yes, we are a new and growing region with some hits and misses. The Keeling-Schaefer that was tasted was from their first real harvest. Their Syrah is very awesome! Also, if you want to try some more great AZ wines, try Pillsbury Wine Co. or Arizona Stronghold (100% AZ grapes). The rest of the vineyards are working into 100% AZ grapes and there are some real strong contenders. Again, thanks for getting the word out – we can only get better from here. Nice show, big happy birthday to Sascha,

QOTD: Never had one and don’t think it is in my near future.

It makes me think of desert. And that’s about it!
That last wine sounds fascinating! Wish I could get my hands on something like that but one doesn’t see Arizona wines floatin’ around in Ireland! ; )
Actually, I very rarely see any North American Wines here. I’ve only ever tasted one!

QOTD: Arizona always makes me think of my best friend, since she and her family moved down there a few years back.

    Good show Gary =)

QOTD: When I think about Arizona I think about a place that’s entirely too hot to live! Whether you’re a human or a grape, it’s not natural for things like these to live there with out piping in water from places like Oregon, so what’s the point??

Have never had a AZ wine as of date…but I will now have to seek some out!

When I think of AZ I think of the London Bridge in Lake Havasu….that and the AZ Cardinals(Booo…Hisss)!

GV…..I wish I could get in on the Secret Pack…BUT…alas…I live in one of the states you do not ship to….I wish there was a way I could get the list of the wines you will be tasting so I could get the chance to try along with You(and get a chance at a free cruise ticket)…anything you can do for us Vaniacs that live in the states you do not ship to so that we can get in on the fun?

QOTD: I have not actually had a 100% AZ wine, but I am about to open a bottle of the 2004 Primer Paso that was Maynard James Keenan’s first wine. He blended a little bit of AZ Malvasia into the Shiraz. It’s been close to two years since I had this wine last. So I am very excited to be trying this again. Sadly it is my last bottle.

QOTD: Never had Arizona wine, but when I think of AZ, I recall the days I lived there, walking home from work in the 114+ degree heat, and stopping at in-n-out on the way to get my fries animal style. Mmmmm ;)

    QOTD: No I haven’t.
QOTD2: Love Arizona. I think about gecko’s and the desert. Golf! Hot chicks!

Happy birthday, Sacha! GV – yer Dad’s same age as my oldest sister. Like you, my first AZ was Callahan, also about ten years ago, Zin, and it was full throttle style w/ deep, jammy fruit. Was good then , but I can’t take fruit bombs anymore… Az? Among many evoked thoughts, I can hardly believe in’t been over 16 years since the huge push for Cave Creek Chili Beer.

I have not tried any wines from Arizona but they sound interesting. I picture rattlesnakes and desert when thinking of Arizona.
