Two things: 1) Awesome show. The beer shows are always a great change of pace. 2) A double IPA does not mean that it’s fermented twice. It means that there are more hops and more barley used in the production which leads to a bigger hop profile and more alcohol.

QOTD: Good question. I’d probably have to say Richie Sexson. :) I think he needs one after this season.

Great show! One of my favorites, this beer guy should get his own show!

Not a beer drinker (can’t handle the calories) but interesting show nonetheless.

QOTD: I had to think about this for a while. This is probably wierd and generational but I really think that I would have liked to share a beer with the actor Jimmy Stewart. He always came accross as very genuine and approachable. A lot like you, Gary.

Great show guys, Beer TV rules.

QOTD: I think Napoleon would prefer a good cognac, so I’d go with Ben Franklin. He’d probably have some French ladies hanging around too.

If you want a good beer try the extreme bees from Flying Dog Brewery like GONZO

Wow, I’ve been watching for a few months now, but this is my first time commenting and it’s all because of the amazing QOTD

First off, I love the show and it has been encouraging me to expand my palate in every area (most notably in the area of coffee, actually). Technically I’m not 21 yet, so as far as wine (and beer, in this episode) goes I’m just prepping my palate for the next few months.

QOTD: I’ve always thought that writers are some of the most interesting people to talk to, so if I base my decision on that I’d have to say that I’d either choose W. Somerset Maugham (early to mid 20th century British author) or Ernest Hemmingway would be who I’d choose.

Keep up the good work Gary!

Love to share a beer again with my Dad but can’t happen now. My two sons are beer heads. They go to tastings

QOTD: I’d share a beer with you GV!

Wow, that’s a nice dainty hand on Michelle. ;-) Hey Gary, we have to look at Mott’s mug every once in a while, why not the “new” camera woman? Is Michelle single? ;-) j/k…

I have a bottle of the Speedway Stout at home that I may open tonight… This was an interesting episode, even though I’m really not “into” beer (though I do appreciate a good one every once in a while).

Definitely Root Beer is the way to go… I crave a good root beer!

QOTD: Does it have to be a beer I’m sharing with the person living or dead? If so, perhaps just my buddy Mike.. the only guy I still talk to from high school, he’s reviewed like 4000 beers on ratebeer.com, so he definitely is fun to talk to about beer.

I hope I can stop drooling so I don’t ruin my computer before I finish watching, that is a great lineup of beers.
