GV – Great show. Don’t forget to come to NERAX in March. I’ll email you again about it! QOTD – I’d have a beer with Charlie Rose (he loves wine too!) or David Crosby (the best stories about musicians) – and my Dad!

    Philip Wilson

I’d share a nice, malty, bitter IPA with GK Chesterton, one of the greatest (and least known!) authors of the 20th Century.

Thomas Jefferson was a huge wine fan. I’d like to see/hear his reaction to these.

QOTD: Well right now I’ve love to have a beer with McCain and Obama.. because you learn too much about a person over a beer.

I’ve been waiting for this for a while! Great show – there are hundreds of beers worth discussing in a very complex “beer world/culture. Gary is right on finding the links (or making the links on the spot – like dragging kicking and screaming) between the beer world and wine land. It’s two ancient continents smashing together.
Sitting down with one person it would be Adam or maybe Eileen, but I’d rather get maybe all the founding fathers (and mothers) together and drink a couple kegs of Three Floyds Alpha King or DFH World Wide Stout – or both!

Great show. Thanks for mixing in beer once in a while.

Great and interesting show. I am a Sport Bar beer and wings guy but will now expand my palette and try the double IPA.

With the Hurricane nearing Houston, I wanted to get my NFL Survivor pick in early in case I am offline for a while.

1 – 0 after the Giants pick last week. Week 2 I select Green Bay over Detroit.

Good show, however I find myself more and more gravitating towards wine as a preference. The beer shows are feeling a little dull for me these days.

I share beer with such good friends and family as it is, I find it hard to try to pick somebody outside that circle… probably some great Christian thinker.

Thanks GV and Brett. I really hope you add BeerTV to your lineup. Good stuff and very good tasting notes. You hit the nail on the head on all 4 beers.

Yr. guest killed it Gary. Kudos to him!

QOTD: I’d want to share a beer with the late Hunter S. Thompson or Evan Tanner.

QOTD: My dad. We just marked the 6th anniversary of his passing and I would have loved to share a beer with him as an adult!

    Tift Merritt.
While I don’t drink too much beer, I would surely make an exception to share a cool one with her.

The average American doesn’t care about craft beer, they care about price. And to break it down more, from what I’ve noticed, it’s all about quantity. Which, in my opinion, is what has given beer a bad reputation. Now don’t get me wrong, I like beer. It’s not quite vino, but I like it. But, when I’m the only Fat Tire drinker surrounded by bud light, something’s wrong. Another issue I’ve observed is the “sticking to my guns” theory. Which is lame, how boring does it get drinking the same thing day in and day out? And just because it’s on television doesn’t mean it’s actually a good beer. Good to see the breaking down of stereotypes.

Speaking of good beers, I’m going to “link it up!”

Great show! Really loving the guests lately. This guy rocks! As a massive fan of all things Pearl Jam, his analogy just floored me!

The beer looked really great. QOTD: I was thinking of some famous or historical folks…but it’s too hard to choose, so I’m gonna go with my family. My brothers, sister, and parents. Just hangin’ out on the porch/patio, with the charcoal grill and some steaks or a pork shoulder…or both!

QOTD: I’d have to agree with Yvette W and say Roger Federer, just because he’s so awesome. I think Shakespeare would be pretty cool too, although neither of these men strike me as beer drinkers. But you never know, right?

Very interesting stuff! Great ep/Great guest.
    QOTD: Julie Delpy.
BTW, nice job on holding up the bottle for the close up on that last beer! ;-)

Awesome Show!! One of the Greats!

QOTD: FRANK SINATRA, not sure if he was a beer but thats my pick

  25. September 12, 2008

    Erik Marcus

QOTD: I don’t think he was much of a beer drinker, but he certainly drank everything else under the sun while being the key guy to shut down the Nazis: Winston Churchill.
