I’m sure you had fun with this but it wasn’t much of an episode of WLTV. The constant sound of the crowd would have been good if you were there but not so good online. Really didn’t recognize what you were tasting at all.

man you looked scary as hell with that lighting. Kind of reminded me more of some old school wwf smack talking type interview with the lighting and the tone of the thing

QOTD – Have not been lucky enough to have so many fans. But I enjoy pinot, especially from Anderson Valley.

Yea, way to hate on those f*@#g pats yo, they are dirty dirty yo, mad dirty dirty!

on an interesting note, after picking my first 40 bushels of wine grapes, im kinda thinking that when you smell “forest floor” in a wine, its cause the grapes hit the vineyard floor. i cant imagine how much of the sediment that will eventually settle out of this wine is going to be pure dirt lol.

Gary, didn’t like this episode. You seemed to rushing, talking the fastest I’ve ever seen and yelling into the mic. Though I do like hearing the reaction of the a live audience, just not feeling it in this episode.

QOTD: Kind of. But certainly didn’t have anything to do with wine.

The clamor of the crowd was a bit distracting. Going to have to give that envoirnment a PAZZ. But you were pumped, and that’s always cool.

88 pts is way too generous for that Veramonte pinot. However, you definetly have proven your talents as a public speaker. Maybe you should run for president instead of the two clowns everybody will be voting for.

Judging from the constant background chatter, except maybe for the closest people, nobody was paying attention to you my lord. I’m sure most of them were probably bombed; tough house to work no doubt.
    Smell it first!

Pumped and passionate as always…unfortunately, the venue had too much of a House of Blues on the nose…no matter the greatness onstage, too much yakking at the bar.

    Gary,

My name is Dewey and I am a recovering Lurker.LOL I have lurked your vlog for about a year now and finally made the jump. Man it feals good to not have that stress of you randomly calling me out in the middle of an episode. ahhh!
QOTD: No,I haven’t had the opprotunity to do that yet,but I’m hustlin’ so very soon.

Loved the wines, not that crowd. Sounded like you were at a banker’s convention. Was anyone there actually listening or were they all bullshitting about a bunch of nonsense. Stick with the smaller wine enthusiast venues.

On a lighter note, had the C Donatiello Pinot at the Saratoga Food/Wine Fest earlier this month and it rocked my face off. Glad to see you agree.

I was there…1,100+ people…very happy, excited Web 2.0 + consumers in the crowd…a LIVE Twitter Taste going on as well, 40+ HD videos, it was BUSY. Gary’s contribution was essential to the Wine 2.0 (www.winetwo.com) event and to the progress, next generation of all things wine. ROCK it Gary! I think the crowd DID pay attention …it was twice as loud before he started.

Don’t miss the next one in SF: March/April 2009

I’m not really into the ‘live crowd’ shows to be honest. Tasting WITH the crowd also seems to work better. Gary – maybe working with a (much smaller) live audience IN THE STUDIO might be a more sound option for the future of the show!

QOTD: Yes, when i sang live with a live karaoke band this summer!

Good show. Thought you were going to collapse at the end of that one ;) .

Whooooaaaa Nelly! A tad over the top for me on a quiet Thurs night with a big storm coming up the East Coast. That being said, good reviews on the Pinots. I’ll need to procur some of Pinot #2.

QOTD: You’re kidding right? I’m lucky enough to have the Dominette listen to two words I have to say about wine or any other subject for that matter.

You go my man. I live my star studded fantasy through you.

    Cheers!

Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like everyone was yapping the whole time you were talking. Not a focused crowd at all. And I’ve never been a part of something that big, so I’ll have to wait to tell you!

  22. September 25, 2008

    sam

Sounds like a pretty busy crowd! Keep doing what you do Gary!

QOTD: I have been lucky enough to be in those situations…it is very humbling.

idk gary, you were brining some serious thunder in this episode…the crowd seemed a little rude though (they’re all talking in the background!)

then again, idk how many people were actually in the audience so it could’ve been like 10 people out of 10,000 talking and then this comment is moot.

    awesome show…as usual.

QOTD: You are messing with the forces of nature, Mr. Beal.
