Had Pavi Dolcetto; Mellville Pinot Noir; Vinifera Cab and Outpost Petite Sirah last night-sold out of the Pavi….very nice wine from CALI. Not alot of Oak Monster.

    Hey Gary,
Check out Sin Zin 2006 Zinfandel out of Alexander Valley. It’s 20 bones here in the midwest, but worth every penny.

I’m a huge football fan, but terrible at predicting scores…I’ll leave that to you. However, I can answer your second question. This weekend I will be drinking my secret pack! I’m doing it vayniac style. Three friends and I will be sitting down to food, wine, and episode #548.

Really enjoying the cheese episodes. I had Cowgirl cheese once when I was living in Rhode Island from a wonderful cheese shop in Providence. I fell in love with it. Thanks for reminding me how good it is. I must go out and find some here in California.

As a Bruin, I have to just PRAY that UCLA wins at least one more game this season. Right now I’m destroying unoaked whites and ripping good reds from Spain. I also stumbled upon a delicious Cab from Chile that I would highly recommend.

Isn’t baseball just a bunch of fat older guys who can’t run? At least with football you know those guys are breathing hard.

Drinking a Conde de Valdemar Reserva 2001. It’s got the Rioja earthy, fresh cow manure thing in spades, but it’s also fairly acidic with a backend bitterness. Not overly pleasant as a cocktail wine, and it didn’t really stand up to my New York strip either. I’m guessing there’s a good pairing for this bad boy out there, but it’s not on my table.

Love the cheese episode. Would like to see more wine involved, but it’s cool to hear more about the stinky goo. Have always enjoyed cheese, but have not expanded my pal(ate) in that direction, usually stick with the fairly obvious stuff, even when I dabble in the gourmet section. You have inspired me to try something new this weekend….

Wait a minute, the QOTD was a football pick. Ummm, Tampa over Denver 20-10, even though I hate Gruden.

Everett the cheese man. Love the stuff. Keep up the great work.

Great episode! Would definitely like to see more episodes on cheese & wine pairings. Loved the follow-up and the Brandon cameo. Everett rocks.

QOTD: Found a nice little Spanish wine called Care (50% Syrah, 50% Tempranillo) from the Carinena region for only $8. Quite nice, especially with a little decanting.

QOTD: French and South American reds. Though, I’ve been wanting to try French whites. I guess it’s all going to depend on which meals I cook, also.

Good to be back, GV…I have been gone for a while, but I picked a great day to tune in to WLTV!!! Great episode, loved the cheese guy, and I just want to grab myself some great cheese right now!

I like this guest. Needs maybe a ribbon in his beard? kidding. he’s a good guest. Like the cheese shows, just as impossible to find locally as the wines you do (dig) but interesting. Makes me want to raid the local cheese store and just taste. Gotta love Cowgirl cheese, hope to find them.

It was great to see you pig out on cheeses and almost ignore us. haha.

When is Oct 8th? Want to see your specials!!! smile.
QOTD: I like soft stinky cheese. (is that a song?)Wines for the weekend: Cab, some Pinot Gris and a Port.

Cool episode. I was starting to wonder when we would see this episode.

Love the cheese episodes you are rockin with “the Beard”. I had to go out and get some Mt. Tam after the first episode, great stuff, but Petite Basque still owns the crown. The Carlos Baerga is by far the best card so far.

    QOTD: GI Ants 27 – Hawks 16

    Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm….cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese! Great show with Everett.

QOTD: Seems like an easy lock is for my sorry-azz Lions to lose. They play the Bears this Sunday. This is close to the “Who Cares?” game of the week.

Watch out for upsets for Buffalo in Arizona and Tennessee in Baltimore.

Yeah, I’ll give you a mortal lock…listen up. The Tampa Bay Rays are going to win the World Series.

    Did you hear me?

BTW: Rays manager Joe Maddon is a big fan of wines, just like us. He’s made several guest appearances on local Tampa Bay cable tv shows, talking about his favorite wines and his desire to expand his palate.
