good show. nice to see a$90 bottle NOT drinkable. haha.

QoTD: I enjoy it with anyone I can relax with, but LOVE it with my spouse. duh?!!
I remember each time that she had never had anything other than white zin when I met her. I’ve expanded her palate and she enjoys most wines now.

Fun show… Side note, I have no wrist bands yet. :(

Gary when or where can we see the show you did at the Italy Pavilion in EPCOT? It was nice meeting you and hanging out for the book signing.

Gary, baseball cards are very fun touch. One suggestion: I think at the end of each episode you need to pair each wine with one player/card that best fits the wine. For example, Drouhin gotta be Storm Davis- beefy, tough (well maybe not flowery), but a bit one-dimensional and little pizazz or specialness, but solid (113 wins, 1000 strikeouts); Mailard is definitely Wally Backman – sweaty clothes, dirty socks, cheap pepper. Backman far more exciting than Storm Davis. Domaine af Gros has to be Dave Stewart, big, intimidating, no fruit, just intimidation sprinkled with a little funk and got better and better with age (best years all when over 30).

“. . . whether they like it or not!” Great show, surprised to see the 93 bone wine be sooo tight.

I will need to order some of the Chaniere but what a hideous label. Ouch!

QOTD: Though I don’t get to visit or drink wine with him too often these days, I get sooo excited drinking wine in person with a friend of mine, Dr. Wo (Tom Woteki). One of my learned wine and food connoisseurs in these here parts of DC. In my eworld, I enjoy drinking along with the G-Man each and every night.

    Cheers!

Great show, you have to do get rid of those dam “my little pony’s”.

QOTD: My wife, its special to me when she drinks wine with me because she is not really a wine drinker. She is enjoying more now that she is trying different things with me.

    Orion S.

QotD: Gonna have to go with my wife. I love that she keeps trying different reds with me even though she only really likes fruit-driven quaffers.

Gary, I took a bit of a break, and I love the baseball card deal. If there was one thing I would collect with a little extra money, it would be sports cards. Opening a brand new box is better than Christmas morning.

Thanks for the Burgh show. I’ve got lots of 2005 Burgh’s, but have only sampled one B. Rouge to date. Most I plan to give another couple of years before I start sampling.

I enjoyed the show, but Pinot Noir does not appeal to my palate very much. I can’t say that I have had a Burgundy, but at the price point they are at I have numerous other styles I prefer to drink, So. Rhone, Tuscany, Rioja, etc. I have had some American Pinots that were good, but still not a style that I gravitate to, even after seeing “Sideways”. I will take the f—ing Merlot.

QOTD: My wife first and then the rest of the family. Family holidays are all about good food and wine. My wife was born of 12-23 and me on X-mas day. Makes for a great party week with wine taking an important role. This is when we really splurge.

QOTD: I’m having a very strong sense of deja vu on this QOTD. The answer is (is still?) my wife Brenda.

QOTD: My older sister probably because I just like her, and if we’re drinking wine together it must mean that one of us is visiting the other.

QOTD: my daughter now that she is old enough or my best friend Lin H….we always have a great time….great guy

I have the old school wrist band……..

  21. October 6, 2008

    Robin C

I do have that wristband and was notified by e-mail that I would be getting more “schwag” whatever that includes, but it’s a no-show. Maybe there are more wristbands in a box somewhere with my name on it – misspelled perhaps so that it never got to me..

    Petunia.

It wouldn’t hurt to take just a French pronunciation class.

QOTD: my husband – we like to discuss the wine, though we often disagree.
