QOTD: Sebeka Chenin Blanc 2008 from Western Cape South Africa $7.99 Not sure what star fruit tastes like, but I’ll have to try it to expand my palette.

QOTD: Terrazas de los Andes Malbec. And 2 very close runners-up: Castano Hecula Monastrell, and Trapiche Oak Cask Malbec.

btw, I could go even cheaper, and give you a dozen QPR absolute gems that are $7 and under.

2006 Mouton Cadet (or any year for the last six years!) Cheap and nice.

Gary- Missed the part where you talked about the chalk board. I hope you are talking about #5 on the clearance sale list. I ordered #5 from that list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

QOTD: i’m going to bring back an old fave from the show: Prado Ayala Rioja – bold & flavorful for that price point. Wifey votes for the Shotfire Shiraz, but that may be $14 at WL. So my vote wins I think.

Great stuff Gary!!! Always love to try potential QPR wines. QOTD- 2006 Geode Santa Barbara County Chardonnay. A great $10 chard that is not typical of California (no oak monster here). There is oak in the wine but it is far more “appropriate” that what we are used to seeing in the golden state. Very nice tropical fruit and crisp acidity that is not overbearing. Best new world white wine that I have tried at this price point in quite a while.

QOTD: the r.h Phillips Viognier exp 2005 was a pretty big hit. On the sweet side for me, but not too, but in the happy zone for gf. So that makes me happy…. Scored @ WL for $8.80/ I see its now @ 10 bones.

I’m looking forward to your new mission to find great stuff to get me through the economic lull.

Bill (below) is not kidding… the porca de murca douro is sensational for $8 (after shipping – or retail price)

QOTD: Hogue Fume Blanc (’06) and the Jonesy Tawny Port (NV) – I just can’t get enough of the stuff, especially with some dark chocolate or Oreos. God, I love Oreos…

QOTD: the best bottle under $13 has to be 2005 14 Hands Merlot from Washington state. I’ve had this wine in chain restaurants, but finally found it for $9.99. its a must try! for a white, 207 Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling. another great wine for $10.99.

I am gonna get some Valdesil. My best under $13 dollar wine. I just pulled out some Rocky Creek Zin that I bought purchased at the Winelibrary. Great stuff. Nice and smoky.

Meh show, love the green band and awesome Mags reference.

QOTD: Unfortunately I don’t drink a lot of 13 and under stuff because I am trying to drink a little less and tend to splurg on what I buy. That said I loved the Four Vines cuvee bottling.

Loved the show. Great concept. And the Mottster gets a HUGE best supporting
award for this one. Great cameo and great Wes Walker jersey pan. PS – Lengs
& Cooter make a kick ass clare valley riesling that you would like.

QOTD: ? sorry IOU. Had error messages on that part of the stream and could
    not get it to play.

I used to comment all the time, from the beginning, but have been watching consistently again since Episode 500. Keep it up! I stopped watching my tv shows to catch up on all of the past episodes I missed.

    Keep going man!

FYI, your Cheese Library staff helped me and the wife out last week! Your staff knows their stuff.

QOTD: believe it or not, I really enjoyed “White Truck”. I’d say aviod the red and pink, but the white had tons of aromatics going on and a great sweet but not too sweet taste to it.
