qotd- down to business. bottles of wine are time capsules. they are living, they can be personal. i have some bottles that are waiting for certain people to join me. + it tastes so gooood.

    Dominus

Knowledgeable and truly dedicated wine connoisseur as today’s guest, not “drinker.”

QOTD: Probably since it gives me so much satisfaction for all of my senses. Only a lovely woman can provide that much pleasure.

    Great show.

    Cheers!
    Dom

    P.S. Ugly shirt though. :)

Coolio show! Kudos to Mr. Guest for raiding the shelves for some ballin’ bottles. I wish I were there to taste a few of those. We simply can’t get wines like that around here.

QOTD – every bottle of wine is an adventure. Sometimes the adventure ends with dog poop on your shoes, and sometimes you finish with memories that last a lifetime. I hate to quote “Sideways”, but I do like to think about what was going on in both the world and the vineyard when and where the wine was vinted. Was it hot? A cool year? Did it rain at harvest? Have I ever been to that vineyard, or at least read about it? Is the vintage an important year to me personally? Were one of my kids born that year? Did I land a big one salmon fishing that year? Those kinds of things are fun to think about, and fun to share with whoever you are sharing that bottle of sunshine with. And also, yes, I have to say it (another Sideways thought…. because it just tastes so freakin’ good!

QOTD: That is probably the most difficult question I’ve ever heard. I love the stories about wine, I love the complexities, I love the process that it goes through, I love the people who make it, I love helping make it whenever I’ve gotten the lucky chance, I love sharing great wine with friends, I love watching my friends and loved ones gain insight into foods/tastes/feelings/emotions when I share good wine with them. Also, oh my GOD does it taste good.

QOTD: Cause it tastes and smells so good, and it stimulates conversation between family and friends, and it’s interesting/educational/cultural, etc.

Oh Ribera, let me counts the ways. Unfortunately I tried several times to turn down the volume on that shirt, but it didn’t work,

QOTD: if you play your cards right, a bottle of wine when shared can create joy and long lasting memories

    BruceP

    QOTD: Truth and beauty.

QOTD: I don’t know of any MORE complex drinks. I suppose that there are those who would argue that beer or whiskies are complex. They are but not a fraction of the sheer volume of worldwide wine production or terrior. I think that I could easily talk about the differences in wine from country to country, vineyard to vineyard and vintage to vintage for a lifetime and not scratch the surface of the topic. I don’t think I could make that statement about any other beverage. Well, I’m sure you’re all asleep now and I’m kind of tired myself :)

I would have rather seen a woman on each arm than the dude!
Wine is like a beautiful woman with a flower in her hair.
    Smell it first!

    Dr T from N. Carolina

Nice to see two hyper, knowledgable, alpha males go at it and still play nice.

QOTD — because you can just enjoy it for itself in so many ways, but there is also so much to learn it you want to (and I do!)

Julius in the hizzie in the beginning! I didn’t think it was possible but Joe’s shirt is actually even more incredible on film than in person. If CSI Miami ever needs someone to play a sommelier (or a drug dealer), Joe iz da man! Great job guys…
