QOTD: Because wine is so damn interesting. There is no other beverage that is so interesting to taste each and every time. I like wine because of the unknown.

QOTD: Because what else can you drink that is different every time you try it. I mean, under the wine umbrella, lurks thousands of new experiences. That’s just awesome!

As long as I have been more than a little interested in wine, it has amazed me. I love the complexity of flavors (especially non-fruit flavors) that can evolve from something as “simple” as grape juice. I am also awestruck by the many generations within many different cultures surrounding the growing and production (and, more recently, distribution and sale) of wine. Wine means so much to so many people on so many levels that I want to spend a great deal of my time learning about, analyzing, and working with wine.

Nice job Joe, lots of knowledge, lots of love!!

QOTD : hhhuumm…..well I think I drink wine for so many reasons. One, every experience has a new and exciting one where you really never know what you are going to get in the bottle. The company I generally share it with, the conversations, the exploration of the world in a bottle, the tremendous food it usually goes with, the answers my kids give when I put the glass to there nose…….just like you Joe, wine is everything with me. It’s the catalyst to many, many great experiances with family, friends and sometimes strangers that quickly become friends!!!

    Thanks again Joe!!!

Because no other living product for me has so many tastes, smells, and textures like wine. I have been enamored of wine since I bought my first bottle of St. Emilion in 1968 and 40 years later none of that has changed just more and different wine experiences. Looking forward to just as many in the next 40 years. Great tasting and appreciated Joe’s expertise as well as GV.

QotD: More than just a beverage, wine is a chance to enjoy and learn about someone’s hard work, and the area in which it is produced. You don’t get that from soft drinks usually, it’s limited in beer, and too expensive for me to partake in liquor. It’s a five sense experience, from the sound of the pour, to the color, to the aroma, to feel on your mouth, and finally the taste. And excepting Germany and it’s beer… it’s the one thing I would actually consider traveling to another country to partake in as the sole reason for going.

QOTD: Because it’s wines are really masterpiece “humanature” of art. So many factors between the grape and the glass are may change what we taste. Every bottles are so different and this is why it makes wine so unique, like every persons on this planet

    Great, great show BTW!

Great episode. Nice to see JoeG on the show
QOTD: I drink wine because it fascinates me. It is truly amazing how the combination of grapes, dirt, water, sunlight, barrels and a few other things can produce the flavors and aromas of almost anything you have ever smelled and tasted before in you life. When I smell and taste a wine, and I recognize a taste or aroma that I have never experienced in a wine before, that is why I am into wine.

Awsome show guys, loved everything about it!!
Top 8 I would have to say.

QOTD: I love wine because your not just drinking “wine” your drinking the earth, your drinking “god”. Wine is like science it’s a living breathing creature, constantly evolving and changing.
Every bottle of wine has it’s own story to tell and I love being the one who listens.

QOTD: Because I get to challenge my knowledge/senses and drink at the same time.

Gary + Joe = Wine Nerd thunder!!! Sweet episode!

Why do I drink wine? I like to read and I feel like every bottle is a story!

Joe definitely has it down. Nice shirt too.
QOTD: 1. Aromatherapy – the nose can be invigorating, calming, meditative
    2. The Taste – I like fruit and it doesn’t have to be big. I like to ferret out the other flavors 3. Entertainment value – for example I had a Michael David Petite sirah last night and I hated it at first, but it kept changing from flavor to flavor and bringing me along with it. It was a challenge, and it made me like it. 4. Always the hope that it will bring an entirely new experience or match an old favorite experience. 5. The sociability – it’s more fun to drink with someone who enjoys it too.

QOTD: First and foremost, I like it, it tastes good (well most wine does anyways). Its a great way to unwind in the evening and its great to pair with a nicely cooked meal. But also, wine is a hobby. There’s things to learn, there’s people to share it with, there’s things to say, opinions to have; it’s involving. And as hobbies go, its accessible, I can pick a bottle at the liquor store, my family in particular as always had it, and it’s convenient in the sense that well I’m gonna have a drink with my meal anyways, so I might as well have a drink that I can think about and share.

    Gar,
I really liked the show format, tasting table on the wine sales floor. It reminds me of the 3 tastings (2 are blind) that I go to each week. Joe G is a great guest, maybe other knowledgeable reps in the future?

    QOTD:
Wine brings people together and it stimulates brilliant conversation whether it’s about the wine or taboo topics like politics, religion or s*x. It’s truth serum at its best.
