So psyched to find this podcast! Pretty much a newbie when it comes to wine. BUT…my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at a restaurant in Brooklyn (Convivium) and I had a glass of Pecorino wine…it was the best white wine I’ve ever had. I called the restaurant the next day and they said that I couldn’t find it around here…they import it exclusively (not available to the public). So cool that Pecorino was in the archives! This show is like crack…freakin’ addicting! Love it!

I LOVED this show. LOVED your guest – she is so personable and nice and interesting. Great guest! Can’t say that enough. She made you explain things like the flint concept.. I too wouldn’t know flint but definitely know the ocean!

QOTD: No clue about the Mets (sorry!) but love the baseball love in this episode! BUT you do not look old enough to have sat through 1986 games!!! That’s when I was born..

Loved the geeky whites, I’m all about the whites. Want to aspire to love wine so much that I drink a glass a day like your lovely guest. And loved seeing Sascha!!

the pecorino sounds like it will go well with a mango salad with bell peppers and micro basil with a sweet lemon/mint dressing

Nice show, very interesting white wines. I have had Grenache Blanc from the Rhone and from California and I have generally really liked the wines. I have never had Pecorino so that wine really intrigues me.

QOTD: Mets? Who cares! Actually, I’d rather have the Mets in the play-offs than the damn Yankees any day. :-)

I love Pecorino- they make some fine wines. And grenache blanc is awesome too. I love geeky white wines!

QOTD: No idea, not a baseball person nor have I been in the country to follow the news.

Pecorino – it’s a cheese, it’s a wine, and it’s all yummy. When will WL ever ship to MA? Even the Shadow doesn’t know.
QOTD: Wow, can’t answer that one.

I had a Pecorino recently – Colline Pescaresi 2006 – was very impressed.. great lemon and creme brulee flavours.

I am a big swisher Gary, and it’s all your fault. My girlfriend finds it obnoxiously irritating, but I just can’t stop.

It was a pleasure to watch your show where the wonderful Pecorino of my colleague and friend Chiara Ciavolich (yes, the producer is a woman) was tasted. Ask Chiara for a list of the wine shops in the US that carry her ARIES Pecorino. Visit http://www.ciavolich.com for her e.mail address and other interesting wines from the Ciavolich winery! All the best, Elena

QOTD : Jerry who? Mets? Anyway, I’m very down about the All Blacks coming from behind to pip the Wallabies in Hong Kong :(

I am from Boston and really struggling to find any of these wines. Love the show but feel like not getting the full experience. Any suggestions?

Oh….and one more observation/question. Why is it that Sasha ONLY jumps into Episodes where you have female quests? (Tara….J-Pipes) :)

Gary is CORRECT. The Mets did NOT beat Mike Scott in the ‘86 LCS. In fact they lost 2 games (Games 1 & 4) and if not for the tremendous comeback win in game 6 would have faced, and I believe lost, to Scott for the 3rd time. Good job in correcting her Gary. Tara, are you posing as a Met fan? Just Kidding.

The Mets WILL make the playoffs (I hope!!!) and I’m a big Manuel fan.

Great EP…..a couple of great choices to try!!

    Gary,

Gary, Gary, Gary, Gary. Gary, Gary, Gary, Gary. C-E-L-A-D-O-N. How in the hell do you get ‘Cuh-Len-Dun’ out of that? ‘Cuh-Len-Don’ was the MVP of the 1969 World Series.

More than likely, the word is pronounced ‘Sell-a-don’ or ‘Sell-a-doan’. That’s ‘Sell-a’, as in celery. ‘Don’, as in Don Pardo or Doan’s Pills.

Other than the hatchet job on the English language, two more whites to try makes this another fine episode.

    Regards,

    Norm Crosby

Having seen this episode after the one which was presented the following day (with JR), I feel strongly inclined to watch future instalments in chronological order. While your guest was pleasant to see, she gave me the impression of being olfactorily challenged. Granted, the first wine may have been partially responsible for that.

This was similar to having partaken of the 2004 Chateau Lafon Rochet after the 2004 Chateau Pontet-Canet. The latter, while being fine on its own accord, was a dissapointment after the former.

Good show – I came away with 2 wines that I would lke to try (one that I have not ever heard of – Pecorino) in the future. Decent guest – she needs to build on her confidence in wine.

QOTD – The Mets will not make it back to the playoffs agaiin unless thay get Ron Darling, Wally Backman, and Len Dykstra back on the team.
