Lurkers saying PLEASE more blind tastings! Love these, but always enjoy your show.

We are from the states now living in Switzerland and enjoying a whole new world of wines. Would love to see some more Italian shows since we are drawn to these.

? of the day…once a week blind tastings would be fun! but not all year

Yes, go blind! Once or twice a week would be great.

    GV,

Long time viewer/lurker here, but coming out of the woodwork today – no idea why!?

I would agree with most folks and say once a week. I too appreciate the “no preconceived notion” aspect of the blind tasting, but also dig the other aspects of your show as well; i.e., guests, food choices, etc.

Love this program and have turned many the friend onto it. You rock my man!
Good luck to your boys in Green on Sunday! Looking for an EPIC game!

gary, love the blind. i would like to see a blind value driven episode ($15 and under). i feel like i am getting smarter with each episode.

    Loved the show.

    QOTD: Yes – more blind

    Good Show!
QOTD: Love the blind tastings, but I also enjoy the more focussed episodes giving more backround to a specific wine, region etc. This would not be possible with only blind tastings. Once a week blind, maybe just once in two weeks is sufficient!

Btw, how to get some wristbands over here in germany? ;P

    Cheers

Really good episode, love the blind tastings. I’m a fan of Cliff Lede & they have a Claret that is half the price of the Cab & it shows very well.
QOTD- Do one blind tasting per week for all 2009…

QOTD: One blind tasting each week is perfect.

    QOTD:
I enjoyed this episode and an occasional blind tastings but for the whole year, absolutely NOT. Actually I enjoy shows with just 2-3 wines, gives you time to talk about cellaring potential, food pairings, decanting time. but keep in mind i am your fathers age, not exactly your target audience.

Always a fan of the blind tastings, Gary! Kudos to you!

Answer to QOTD: Do more blinds, but not for entire year–maybe 2 days a week? Still have to account for your guests and other tastings, like the cheese!

    Matthew

    Yes! Go blind for 2009.

    Great episode Gary!

QOTD: How about blind Thursdays- five wines from a selected format, and maybe have your peeps try to trick you once in awhile! I think it’d give the show some cool balance and us Vayniacs something special to look forward to each week!

Good show, Gary. I would say to stick with your usual format but maybe throw a blind tasting in once a week or so. It’s fun but you know what they say about too much of a good thing..

great show, but not for everyone…jsu tone of anything aint good…got to keep mixing it up…you’d get bored with all those brown paper bags!

I love the blind tastings but mix it up with more weight being placed on the blind tastings. Lets do a blind tasting on the cruise!!!

Great show. Love the blind tastings, but not every show. I’d say at least once a week though. They are even better when you don’t everything about the wine. Like episodes where you do Syrah/Shiraz from around the world and then try to guess where it’s from and the price.

    Nico

yes!!! Blind all year… these are always my favorite episodes by far!

QOTD: While I really do enjoy the blind tastings, I don’t think I would like them everyday. Maybe once a week or everday for a few weeks.

once or twice a week blind is ideal.

Love the blind tasting episode. So for question of the day, I think you should definitely do these more, maybe not the entire year, but once a week. I think it is fun to hear your remarks when you have no preconceived notions about a bottle from where it is from.

  22. November 21, 2008

    Greg

QOTD: I really like the idea, but not for an entire year. Try a month and see how people react and then go from there.

  23. November 21, 2008

    karenp

QOTD: more blind tastings would be good but not every show! Some of us have different palettes than you do and so the ratings aren’t as educational as the other format.

QOTD: ABSOLUTELY GO BLIND. (But mix in some other stuff too like the wine list reviews and whiskey tastings and straight-up nonblind wine tasting)

Couldn’t agree with you more on the Cliff Lede Cab. My wife and I visited there over the summer and picked up a few bottles after tasting it. It’s awesome and was a fun find.

Love the blind tastings. A couple of time a week would be great!
Great show this week. Keep it up!!!
