Go blind at least once a week….great episode!

    Hey Gary,

Yeah, blind is great. With the exception of off-site shows (for example, if you do a show during the Thunder Cruise, or head up to the Meadowlands for a show) and guest appearances where blind service may not be appropriate, I think you should go all blind.

That being said, it is always great to hear your knowledge about different wineries and wines, and perhaps if you do go blind you should a) continue to follow show themes, as you do now, and b) maybe even know the 5 wines you do before a given show, just not which bottles they are in, so that when you do reveal them you can have your notes about the wineries and wines in your head.

    Just my two cents.

Gary – Another absolutely rivoting performance by GV!!
YES SIR, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE …… MORE BLIND TASTING’S AT YOUR DISCRETION AS TO FREQUENCY. WHY MORE BLIND TASTINGS???? BECAUSE IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO TASTE & QUALITY – - – - – NOT PRICE AS YOU SO APTLY HAVE DEMONSTRATED. TOO MANY OF US ARE INCORRECTLY “flavored” BY PRICE, THINKING THE MORE WE PAY, THE MORE WE WILL GUARANTEE OURSELF & OTHERS THE PERFECT BOTTLE OF WINE – OH SO NOT TRUE! thanks again Mr. V.
I know you are beaming this fine Monday as the JETS beat the Titans – you are soooo good ” G man “!

http://vinomundo.blogspot.com/ I loved this episode and was glad to see some names that are readily available. I too was disapointed in the Beringer.

QOTD: I don’t know, blind tasting is cool but I think I would be tired of it if you did it every single time for a year. I agree with some other comments that you should just run special blind tasting series or perhaps do blind tastings once per week or something like that.

I like the blind tastings, but I think 1 per week would be good. I also like the cheese & food pairings. You do a great job GV. Thanks.

Blind is good. But food pairing shows and guests are fun too, so as long as you can incorporate variety alongside the blind tastings, I say go for it. Surprises at the end make it interesting!

I think you need to mix and match the shows – some normal, some guests, some blind, some non-wine, some … whatever.

It’s the mix that makes the show so good.

One vote for blind part of the time.

One vote for Guests part of the time.

One vote for Gary as usual part of the time.

Why not do the show with the really cool guys from Volta?

Enjoying the comments as much as the shows. Thanks.

“Blind in ‘09″. It’s like a bumper sticker, T-Shirt, or sweatband logo. GV can you cut me in on some of the profits?

GV, Lots of football left but Oklahoma or Texas vs the SEC champ in the BCS game?

Thanks for the great show, I work in the local wine shop in Georgia. I will try the winning cab. from your show and it should sell well for the holiday season. Thanks again for helping me fine wines to try since my budget is limited.
YES, I DO BELIEVE THAT BLIND IS THE WAY TO GO!

    Love the show!

Blind seems more challenging to you and it gives a much more objective analysis.

    Fun Episode!

Once a week blind tasting Tuesdays (or whenever) would be good.

    Hey gary,
    loved the show.
Was the flavor that stumped you with the #5 wine “anchovy”?

Gary maybe you should have a blind day of the week or a blind week of the month first.

Great show GV. I have the Cliff Lede Suav Blanc on the list and have heard good things about the Cab Sauv, looking forward to trying it.

QOTD: BLIND FOR ‘09. THE FORMAT MAKES FOR A MUCH BETTER SHOW.

    I lovvvvved this episode! “Razz-siss?”

Been away for a couple days. Catching up on the Napa cab shows. Sitting shiva due to the wife and I losing our Moms within two days of each other.

QOTD: “Goin’ Blind for ‘09″ sounds like a good moniker to me.

P.S. Just finished watching da Jets SPANK THE TITIANS!!! Congrats G-Man!

I liked this episode, too! But don’t go exclusively blind either. More blind tastings would be good, but the mixed bag and other formats are also good so keep mixing it up, Gary.
