I’ve loved every blind tasting that Gary has done. How many other major wine critics in the world would be happy to do ‘one-take’ blind tastings? My guess is less than 1. Phenomenal

QOTD: Ditto the other comments to do blind once a week…

  • Ex_Cuse88

Lurked for about a year now. Enjoyed the blind taste, but not for everyday. How about Blind Fridays?

  • Loved this episode, and yes blind, but not too much…

  • Enjoying your shows and straight talk about the wines. My palate is definately gaining a vocabulary through your shows. In golf terms you’re lowering my palate handicap!

I like the blind once a week.

    Cheers!

I would say about 80% blind would be awesome. There has yet to be a boring or uninteresting blind episode. It just works.

QOD: You do not need to be blind for the entire year, but once or twice a week would be great.

  • I love when you do blind episodes because the descriptions seem to get more interesting. Beets! I don’t think I’ve ever heard that one before!

QOTD: I think everyday would be too much (and would take up too much precious time), but once a week or so would be great!

We just found you thanks to “Let’s Knit Together” — a strange but intriguing knitting podcast Maggie has been following for about 6 mos. That podcaster featured her stint on yoru show on her podcast,we started to download and follow you (Maggie is a HUGE Jet fan from way back when — the days when she was a little girl sitting beside her daddy at Shea Stadium — and so we both feel we’ve found a kindred oenophile and Jetfan). This “blind” tasting episode was the first one of yours we watched and we LOVED it… it was like we were experiencing it right along with you… belief was suspended… there was no show prep, there was no quick glimpse at the bottles, there was no passing nod to buddies selling various vines… nope… it was PURE Gary. Hurray. Here are 2 votes for a “Going Blind in 2009” with the occasional backstory/special guest episode thrown in. Congrats on the growing fan base… you deserve it. And, for Pete’s Sake… Let’s Go Jets.

QOTD: No, not the whole year. More frequent blind tastings would be fun, but don’t overdo it. Variety is part of the fun of your show!

QOTD: I think you should do a blind tasting with an actual blindfold on. Let us see the wine, but not you. That would be different. Oh, and i say no to the whole year thing, but the blind tastings are very cool, so keep them up.

  • QOTD: As to whether you should do blind tastings throughout 2009, I’d be happy to see it. It’s not only fun, but suspenseful, too.

    Great show!
QOTD: Definitely blind for all “mainstream” varietals (Cab, Chard, etc.). Non-blind for off the beaten track varietals.

Yes, please do many more blind tastings in 2009. You don’t have to go 100%, but at least 2 per week would be great.

    Nice show.

Great show! Sometimes I wonder if you hate all California wines, but in this show, you gave a little shout out at the beginning, which was nice, and really enjoyed a few of them. Phew! I was getting worried for the American wine industry, but, I can be at ease now.

QOTD: Nope, I like the mixture. Blinds are good, but I like various formats.

Gary, You should do as many blind tastings as often as you can. This was a great show. Blind once a week would be terrific.
