Just realised today the beard had gone, had to come back and find out why!

Wine & Candy? I can tell you what doesn’t go…(Pistachio-rich) Turkish delight and a 2003 Douro red, trying it now and the wine needs something meaty, not sweetie! I’ll try some dark chocolate after the show!

QOTD – Snickers (although I still remember it as Marathon, before it became Americanised).

    Pretty cool episode Gary.

QOTD: The one and only… Snickers. By far the best candy bar ever.

LOVE this episode. Talk about letting the air out of wine snobbery and just loving it!

QOTD: Gotta go with the snickers, king size, FROZEN!

    Good show and interesting concept.

Recently tried Russell Stover Milk Chocolate with Peter Lehman 2005 Barossa Shiraz, pretty darn tasty.

QOTD – Probably Nestle’s Crunch bar.

Awesome show; a lot of fun! Condolences on the loss to Denver, but think of it a “re-focus” loss that will help for the playoffs!

QOTD: Snickers with Twix a close second.

Mounds and almond joys. Sometimes you just feel like a nut, and sometimes you don’t.

    Interesting show.
I am not a big fan of sweets with mine, but that is just how I roll!
QOTD – Toss up – Nestle’s Crunch, Milky Way

    Thanks Gary,

    A great show.

    QOTD:
    1. Violet Crumble
    2. Bounty
    3. Cherry Ripe
Do you have any of these in the US?

    Cheers

On a quick note, I was surprised there was no Brachetto D’Acqui in the tasting! With its low alcohol and magestic acidity, this raspberry ridden dessert gem would have ben the perfect complement to that Hershey’s milk chocolate. Try it out=)

QOTD: My mom is responsible for my recent addiction to the “Take 5″ candy bar, and it is killing me! I get off of work and head to the movie store, and that damn candy bar just grills me from the rack, begging to be paired with a (and I am not much of a CA Cabernet drinker) 2004 Trefethen Estate Cabernet Sauvignon…holy testicle Tuesday, Batman, it is incredible=)

    Salud!

My favorite candy bar is something like a Scharffenberger dark chocolate bar.

Gary – Gary – Gary…!! makes sense since high tannins generally pair well with fats and proteins, BUT shouldn’t be encouraging your viewers to eat all those hydrogenated trans-fats… A good quality dark or milk chocolate-Yes… but not those health destroyers… take care…

I have always liked the “HEATH” bar. So good they made ice cream out of it.

I’m drinking a Saint Jean Du Barroux, L’Oligocene 04. Some darker chocolate with almonds is working pretty well. But a almond joy would be nice.

Nice little show today. I hope Gary didn’t upset his tummy with all those combos.

What about doing desserts some time with a guest chef? Flourless chocolate tort and some late harvest zin or a port,…Yummm!

this episode inspired me to drink a Dolcetto tomorrow night. Giacomo Fennocio is the producer. Not as bone dry as the Sottimano.

QOTD: current favorite candy bar is the Heath Bar! Infact i’ll eat one now.

    Great show as always GV

My favorite candy bars, in order, are Payday and 100 Grand!

I was very surprised the Dolcetto was that strong. Sounds like the other three wines are excellent at their price points and well work getting. Pretty novel show.

    QOTD – None.

    Love Carms…

I like to get Double Chocolate Malted milk balls with them, and a lot of other wines…

IF you can get the ones you buy at high end grocery stores in bulk, about the size of a golf ball… DO IT!

QOTD: Cadbury Dairy Milk, baby…not the one you buy in the US stores, but the one you import from the UK. Creamy, chocolaty, waxless goodness.

    Jlo

Fav chocolate bar (Or should I say Candy Bar I lived the otherside of the pond) would be Snickers. Great show! Cheers. Jlo (UK)

Ring me up for Snickers and then the new dark chocolate peanut M&Ms.

Are you picking up a choc and nut theme?

  25. December 2, 2008

    Jake D

I’ve always been partial to Mounds and Butter Fingers. Although more recently I’ve really been getting in to really dark chocolate.
