I bought a Lascombes. should that $80 wine be aged or is it ready to drink – what’s the range you would recommend?

Great job on the blind tasting. QOTD – I have only purchased some 2005 bordeaux in the $15 – $20 range and have not tried any yet. Guess I better try them.

QOTD: Too many to list here, total of 100 bottles (mix of stuff) incl a couple of 05 Domain du Bouscat which I tried last night. Has potential, still young, be interesting to see how it evolves in 2-3 years time.

What a sweet episode! This is what I live for. Alas, if I were not a CKC, I’d be buying a case (or two) or La Clémence!

QOTD: Due to my CKC status, I don’t have the means to buy lots of 2005s, although little by little I’m snatching what I see in local stores. I have:

Le Secret de Cardinale
Haut Tayac
Plain Point

but I want many many more….

I purchased my first “future”/pre-arrival back in January at a UCG tasting in SF, and it just arrived this weekend! It’s a Margaux – Chateau de Tertre. Also bought a couple of inexpensive ’05’s…Haut Nadeau and Haut Belian.

Why, Secret de Cardinale, of course. Along with Haut Bages-Liberal, Rauzan Gassies and a few others.

Love the blind tasting format. Your integrity is intact. Your skill is evident. Thank you for the knowledge and expertise you share with us.

QOTD – No 2005 at the present but will be working on that.

QOTD – After loading up real heavy on 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003 Bordeaux, I have decided to sit ths one out. I purchased a few bottles of Chateau Pipeau – one of the WS Top 100.

GV, you are good! Wow! I don’t own any 2005 Bordeaux.

This is what I bought:

Ch Grand Puy Lacoste, Ch Pontet Canet, Ch Leoville Poyferre, Ch Lynch Bages, Clos Fourtet, Ch Beausejour Becot, Ch Grand Mayne, Ch Grand Puy Ducasse, Ch Clarke, Ch Citran, Ch Clarke and Ch tour de pez.

But since Im just a poor student (in danish standards), Ive only bought one of each…. Probably drink it for my 50 birthday 😉

I just got the ‘2005 Les Fort De Latour’ from my wine consultant. The shipment is coming on Dec 22. Very exciting! Should be soaked in one on Christmas!

I’ve also celled 2000 Pauillac de Latour! Have you tried it before? What do you think about this wine?

Rauzan-Segla. It was my definite favorite at the UGC tasting earlier this year.

I am totally new to Bordeaux, I’ve bought 2 bottles and haven’t drunk them, from memory it was St Gemme Haut Medoc?

it would be neat to see a double blind where the audience had to guess what you were tasting…..can enough detail be gleamed from tasting notes to give the audience an idea of what varietal/region the wine is? hmmmm……

everybody leaves a comment guessing the wines and the answers revealed the next day. yes….i like this idea….
