african or european. Pechez la vache!

Sound quality was tough to understand some of what was said. Intersting episode. The “new” grape varietal was very intersting.

Great episode – I had to go back and listen to A Perfect Circle – Judith again. Let’s hope the wine is as good as that song – tough ask

Thank You, again! Congrats on getting your Estate Fruit off the ground, and we’ll be looking for it in the future.

M – Bless you, and your Mother’s memory. To both you and Eric – articulation, passion, and refinement are conveyed in your appearance, despite what some guy stated. Your reserved control indicates your courtesy to an excitable and animated Gary V.

Mourvedre?!!! MOURVEDR-AAAHHHHH!!! I’m a freak for it. And Cab Franc.

And noone caught Merkin? WTF? Apparently, I date myself, as in my second greatest film of all time, Dr. Strangelove, where among Three roles, Peter Sellers plays U.S. President “Merkin Muffley”. …It’s a female’s MUFF, people!

Great episode, great guests, agree with Art that Maynard does seem to be really involved with the projest, not just funding it. That means a lot.

    QOTD – Don’t know.

Very excited to see my boys getting some time with Vaynerchuk. Great wines coming from AZ… keep your eyes and palates peeled!

For all you die-hard Tool fans that are saving your Caduceus wines, be sure to read Maynard’s blog. Several have not been real age-worthy and I’d hate for you to spend the cash and not be able to enjoy the wine at its full potential.

I’ll have to check out these wines, especially the more old school plays. It’d be interesting to see what these guys can do in such an unassuming place.

    damon aka unknownwine,

I’ve had all of his initial 2004 releases and three of the four (haven’t had the Sensei yet)from 2005. Here is what I’ll say. I was heartbroken when i tasted the 2005’s. His production level went WAY up from 2004 to 2005. The best example is the Primer Paso. I drank my last bottle on 9/11 this year and it was glorious. Below is a link to my review at Cellar Tracker. I hope this helps…Cheers

Interesting wines. I hope I get to taste one someday.

I have to say, its cool that Maynard didn’t do what some rockstars and rappers do and throw a bunch of cash at an established vineyard just to slap their names on a bottle and sell it for $100 a pop. He’s actually getting dirt under his nails and learning the winemaking process himself, which shows he’s doing it because he enjoys it and he’s curious. Much luck to him and Eric!

    Thanks for taping!

Killer idea for a show. Been a Tool fan since Opiate and was aware Maynard was into wine making, but didn’t really know anything about Caduceus. Really enjoyed watching you get into the wines with Maynard & Eric.

Some of those wine were $100 bucks. Anyone out ther who has tasted them feel that anywhere near worth that? Just curious. Gary kept saying value play for $30 wines. Interesting. He usually hammers the other 46 for charging too much for thier product. The Caduceus bottles look really cool, though.

good show but i must say as a rock star Maynard is a dick. i saw Tool a few years ago in Toronto only because Tomahawk (one of mike pattons bands you know the former lead singer of faith no more oh by the way get Peeping Tom if you dont have it) opened for them. after the show we hung around to see if we could get some pics of him and the band. The band was cool signed some stuff and took pics all the while maynard had his body guard escort him on the bus while covering his head so no body could take his pic. what an ass he is!!!
