line of the day – ‘did you really believe in the magic wand’

Ingrid seems a bundle of fun and although she brings a good attitude to the table, she takes forever to get her point across. Gary’s tempo is on a different level and although she’s probably great solo, for me, this pairing doesn’t quite work

I have to agree that this one is looking a lot more fun to be in than to watch. Not even that much fun as the guest is totally on another planet about the show and needs constant redirection. (good work Gary)

Never seen her show but like some of the food network’s shows. More chef guests would be great but stick to the ones who are passionate and down to earth. (not Bobby Flay, he bugs..) I think I wouldn’t be able to watch a full episode listening to her and watching her jerk her wrist around. Sheesh over the top.

Lets just hope she gets the word ahead of time so she can have a decent question of the day. Fingers crossed but not hopeful.

Hope there’s a wine in Part II that lacks the “oomph/heft” that Gary likes to demonstrate 😉

  • I refuse to watch this episode because that lady is a hack. I can’t stand her on the Food Network and refuse to do so here. Sorry Gary.

I’m sorry, Gary, but I could not watch this episode for the same reason I turn off the TV when I see her show. If you’ll allow me to explain: as a kid I wasted far too many afternoons watching the drekkiest talk shows of my era: Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, Dinah Shore, and others that my memory has mercifully forgotten(this was in the 70’s). A regular on those awful shows was an awful guest: Charo, a woman who single-handedly turned back the clock on women’s rights and latina’s rights by a good 30 years.

Sorry, but I cannot relive those memories. Cheers–NOT cuchi-cuchi!

Can’t wait to see the second ep of this series! She seems like someone who would be fun to party with – I am going to try that recipe that she gave and I never would have thought to have mango/avo with a Gewurtz…

…can’t wait to hear her question of the day!

Sweet episode! Love the constant flow of guests, adds a different facet to the WLTV. She did ask some great questions especially for people who are starting out in wines: awesome explanation regarding the micro-climates.

    part 2! part 2! part 2!

Thanks for another good episode. I like the theme.
Gary, I must again mention Madeira. I’d love to see a show on it with a vintage dated bottling at the end.

I liked the show- guests break things up a bit and are fun. Latin foods and wine is a great topic. Thanks for expanding our palates again. I think people are being too hard on Ingrid, if every guest was the same it would be boring. Ingrid was fun and positive and brought her own unique perspective to the show.

She’s a hoot! never heard of her before, now I’m hooked. TIVO! Ingrid is entertainment! Like a Kelly Ripa with boobs and brains!

Great show. nice to pair food to wine, especially finger food or veggies and fruits. cool.

Interesting how controversial she was. I had to turn it off, personally. Taking 20 minutes to decide what year her restaurant opened was too much.
