QOTD: Actually…I might have to change my response. This time of the year, Pumpkin pie might actually be winning…

Just now caught the show, that was a good one.

QOTD: Favorite dessert eh? that’s a toughy, depends on if it is summer or winter, or fall, and what I ate. Personally, a big ol slap of cheesecake with irish cream crust and chocolate makes my teeth smile…

Summer time, a gooey yummy lemon tart is effing awesome…sometimes in the fall one of those pear upside down tarts….with all the cinnimon and nutmeg and such…oh baby.

QOTD: I’m afraid I’ve never met a dessert I didn’t like, so picking just one favorite…
Probably absolute tops would be fresh fruit – not fresh from the grocery store, but the real deal.
This time of year, though, it would be whatever is currently being created in my kitchen.

As a matter of fact, I interrupted my baking for this comment. Now to catch up on the rest of the episodes I’ve missed while I finish a couple batches of seed cake cookies (then on to chocolate chews and winter bark- see what I mean about favorites?)

Great episode Gary! Happy to hear of a good Sauternes value that I can actually find!
QOTD: My favourite dessert is Red Velvet Cake. But only if it has about an inch of cream cheese icing on it!

My home made Lemon Cheesecake. Learned a killer recipe for it in 4th year in school, best thing that I learned in Home Ec, possibly the only thing I learned in home ec.

Our family use to make gingerbread houses all the time growing up, use to take down a case of winter beer, Harpoon Winter Warmer, as we made it instead of wine. Wine would have been an interesting twist. Liked how you threw in a blueberry wine, I’ve had a blueberry port that might have done better with the gingerbread. As for the question of the day, apple pie all the way.

QOTD: My mamma’s homemade apple pie. Nothing better (…except maybe chocolate mousse, or a good panna cotta, or a delicious semi-fredo with some type of nut sprinkled on top… but I grew up with Joan Alfano’s apple pie).

Great show Gary, I love dessert wines.

QOTD: Best dessert has to be Knickerbocker Grill’s chocolate souffle here in NYC… or maybe just some Varsano’s chocolate on West 4th st… I used to LOVE Mississippi Mud Pie from a restaurant long closed down, The Right Bank, but I’ve never had Mud Pie as good since they closed their doors about 12 years ago.

I think I’m going to have to go out and find that Sauternes to have at Christmas.

Favorite dessert? As a kid I would have said a Gold Rush Sundae from Swenson’s. Now, I’d have to say either a chocolate lava cake or creme brulee.

Great episode GV. QOTD: I don’t have dessert that often but when I do: I love cheesecake, especially the really rich homemade ones. Put some sort of fresh fruit on top and I can’t stop eating it. Fav. topping- strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and sometimes just caramel on top does the trick.
