sorry Gary, it seemed like you were in a bad mood from the start or something. I commented that I thought you were ‘off.’ We all have our rough times. But I’m buying that Chateau Rabaud Promis 2005. Oh yeah, “nectar of the Gods?”

    I love you G.

    Merry Christmas

Gary, you are completely and absolutely insane……but thats why I’m hooked on you and wine library tv. I’m a very passionate Home winemaker, even more passionate than you. I live in Australia and I love BIG tannic reds, Shiraz, Petit Verdot. Lagrein etc. I would love to send you some samples to do on your show. Also LOVE sauternes, with my favourite dessert STICKY DATE PUDDING with a brandy butter sauce. Keep the wine library episodes coming . Regards your devoted vaniac maniac winelover Bill.

    Dessert?
Dessert is a threat to my Dessert Wine budget.
    It will have to go.

QOTD: picking only one dessert as my favorite…BAH Impossible, but I’ll give it a go anyway! Keeping in mind the careful balance of flavor and texture…oh who am I kidding. I hate to be cliche, but what-the-heck I will anyway – my mom’s apple pie. Simply delicious, and impossible to duplicate; believe me I’ve tried. The tender, flaky crust with the still-warm from the oven apples – sweet yet still tangy. With a nice simple scoop of vanilla ice cream, it’s better than Norman Rockwell could paint it.

Also I thought I’d give a shout out to Mott – the unsung hero of WLTV. Keep up the great work (and great zooming)!

This is my first time leaving a comment. Been watching the show fairly regularly (2-3 times per week) and enjoy every episode! Love the enthusiasm and depth of content
QOTD: Picture this….fresh out of the oven home made chocolate ship brownies with lucious walnuts and party-for-the-tastebuds vanilla ice cream on top….smothered in hershey syrup and washed down with a scrumptious 2005 Burgandy (wife and I visited Burgandy in Sept. 2008 and loved it).

Very entertaining episode, Gary, but you got the pairings all wrong. With gingerbread, you want Hansel and Gretel Riesling Auslese. By itself, no Moscato d’Asti is better than 80, and ordinary mothball-scented biscotti rate the same. But as Italians (many of whom actually live in New Jersey) can tell you, the two together are 90+! If you use Lorna Sass’s recipe for whole wheat almond biscotti in her Whole Grains cookbook, 95 and up.

I had to laugh at Mari’s “but don’t do anything gimmicky like editing.” While I am sure that you do retakes for the times when you accidentally knock the wineglass on the floor in your free-range gestures, the “spilly-spill” and especially your struggles with the plastic gingerbread house packaging convinced me that you’ve got the only genuine reality show out there.
