That was a great sound when you put that gum in your mouth and started chewing. I myself am a fan of Trident.

ps try the Prieler weissburguner.. expensive but amazing.. Pinot Blanc, the most under rated white..

As for Chenin.. there are so many great Savennieres, Vouvrays, Moutlouis, and on the sweet side
coteaux du layon and Bonneseaux… so you really need to do an in-depth chening show.

Pinot Bianco, to be confused with Pinot Blanc as they are the same grape varietal. Might want to go over that fun fact again.

I loved double bubble and big league chew, but always ended up buying the tub of double bubble for baseball season, which you needed since the flavor is gone after a few minutes.

QOTD: Fruit stripe…chew it for 5 minutes and then spit it out. But it’s still damn good. And YES I’ve had Savennieres a few times

Sweet. I like the tastings and pairings episodes. As someone who’s trying to refine my tasting ability, I’d like to see more dog hair, grass and 21 year old gum tastings. Totally chic.

QOTD1: I’ve had Loire wines but no Savenniere.

QOTD2: Long ago it was Doublemint. Recently it’s the fruity blends of Trident.

QOTD: I’m old school on gum. A long time ago there was a variety called RAIN-BLO that came in a 5-ball plastic sleeve. The best was the cherry– insanely tart, but the grape was excellent too, and the actual Rainbow RAIN-BLO, in all different colors, was the gum of last resort if cherry and grape were not available.

No Savennieres, but had a Jacob’s Creek sparkling wine that was amazingly fun and good on Monday night. Maybe just because I was thirsty and in a festive mood.

stimorols, though I can’t remember what flavor it is, haven’t had gum in a long time…

Haha, Gary V, you should get that gum carbon dated…. I think it’s older than you think :)

Hey Gary, loved watching you eat the ‘87 gum. I had the Topps ‘86 gum about 5 years ago. That was a much better vintage. Just kidding — it disintegrated in my mouth and wouldn’t “gum” either.

Good show today. My neighbor from across the hall asked me about Italian red wines last Saturday, (everything I know about wine I learned from this show and 4 or 5 books I’ve read and then drinking at least 5 wines per week!) and I realized I know so very little, mainly because I love French and California wines so much, so I drink those so often, and so have learned most about them. Now, I realize I know even less. Never even heard of pinot bianco! Looks like it is time to expand the ol’ pal.

I think I have two sets of the ‘87 Topps set, one collected and one as a gift. I love how everyone has that set so it’s worth about $20.
