grew up in Michigan. wine sucked ten years ago, but they are doing some great wine up in Northern Michigan now–I guessed that the “good” Riesling was Michigan, but St. Julian isn’t the best of the Riesling.

I lived in California for 13 years, so I became a West Coast wine snob–now I’m trying lots of different wines.

never found a decent Maryland wine, but we found one good winery in Pennsylvania where we live now. i’ve found some decent Wines near Tucson, AZ. Interested in trying some Virginia wine.

Gary, I don’t know if you read the comments for old episodes, but shows like this are the reason I admire you. I can’t think of any other wine critic who would put him/herself out there like you did here. I think it really testifies to your love for wine that you’re willing to venture into unknown territory to try the offerings from such non-traditional locales.
