QOTD: I see an all bird matchup with the Ravens taking the Eagles down in a blowout 30 – 9.

Huge PS fan over here. Foppiano is my fave.

    The Steelers all the way.

By the way… I think I’ve already mentioned that a few times in the comments this week.

Dude…In a word: Gruden. You guys ARE in a GREAT position!!!

Get him…keep Brett= Playoffs. Superbowl? Sorry, cowboy, that’s a draft pick and a few trades away.

Had the Bruce one and really liked it. The initial wasn’t so good but I let it sit open over night and about a half hour in my glass after pouring and it was great after that. Going to have to try the Rooster, never had a PS Desert wine.

Wow, BOGLE … who woulda thunk it? THAT is why we keep watching you Gary, your utter lack of ulterior motive. I trust you, and have almost never been steered wrong (the Los Alamos Malbec was the only one I can think of that I didn’t agree with!) … dunno why I thought to mention that? You have brought so much good wine to me and my gal Darcey that, well … we are just damned appreciative, and want you to know that!

BUT HEY … how about the more recent efforts from Bodegas Victoria???????? You loved the Longaz in episode 200 (so did we, massively), and the Longus was well worth $50 … PLEASE get some of THEIR recent efforts in to try.

THANKS so much for all you do.

Gary, What happened today? Bogle beating David Bruce and Lolinis?!?! One of the many reasons why I love wine. Price does not always equal quality. Thank you as per usual for the great show.

QOTD Eagles-Pitt (hopefully, have u seen the ravens D?) I’ll do you one better. I’ll give you the Super Bowl Champions! E A G L E S! EAGLES! Thanks Gary

Yeah, fellow CKCs! I’m going to have to find that Bogle, I think I’ve seen it.

QOTD: I’d love to see an all PA superbowl!

I’m not good at predictions, which is why my sports book account is down to $0, but I will be rooting for the Cardinals.

As a member of the CKC, much thanks for the shout out. I definitely gave my last petit sirah a “meh”, but the Bogle is definitely going on the list, because…why not? I always feel a little bit of a challenge to find a good example of a region or varietal after I’ve had a bad one.

QOTD: Ravens and Eagles. As a Delaware resident, I am equidistant from them both, and as a Delaware resident, I’m going with the Ravens for the win (Joe Flacco – highest drafted University of Delaware player ever)

What I think and what I hope are two different things, I hope for Cardinals/Ravens, but am expecting Steelers/Eagles.

Must say I was very surprised as to how mediocre 3 of the 4 wines were. As usual, a fun show, thanks GV and Chris.

    QOTD: Ravens & Eagles

QOTD: My source(husband) tells me Baltimore and Philadelphia. The Ravens win 21-17.

QOTD: Superbowl= who cares?! Like to see Eagles vs. Steelers and have both teams beat the cr#p out of each other, so next year the Giants have less to worry about! LOL! Tampa is going to have to import “security” from NYC & LA to contain an all PA Bowl!!

That said, my next buy is Bogle PS at 9 bones…I’ll take 4 please! It’s all about the QPR ! Thanks Gary, good find on a Friday!

What the f… lol, o big deal its an experience. Keep it up and im ready to start bringing thunder to wl.
    Thanks, Bill

QOTD: After last year’s excitement, I predict the SuperBowl will revert this year to another b-o-r-i-n-g football game.

    Let’s hear it for 3-down football !!!

    Chris Braun

Enjoyed the show. It’s always fun to see the lowest-priced wine wine :-) .

QOTD: No clue. I couldn’t have told you who was playing in the Superbowl had you not named them. And I don’t even know which cities these teams are from. I thought the Cardinals were a baseball team — St. Louis?.

  21. January 16, 2009

Steelers, and it does not matter who else.
Love today’s show (other than the Ravens junk)

Bogle has been the best value in Petite Sirah for years, but I haven’t tried one lately. Glad to hear they are still maintaining the quality without raising the price.

David Bruce is better known for their Pinot Noir, but I haven’t tried one since Ken Foster left (he is now making Pinot at Mahoney Vineyards in Carneros, which I recommend trying).

I’ve enjoyed the regular Petite Sirah bottling from Greg Brown (T-Vine) over the years, though it is by no means a value play. His wines tend to be big, concentrated and well structured, produced in very small quantities. Too bad the dessert wine doesn’t measure up.

    QOTD: No comment.

Hey Gary, I sent you a message on Facebook since my friend request has been pending for SO LONG! haha, you said “friend me!” :)
QOTD: unfortunately, I can’t answer any football questions, “I got nothing.”

  24. January 16, 2009

    C-Lo

Love PS!!! Rockin show, i will have to look up the other PS shows and re-watch.

My fav PS’s are Bogle and Concannon – try ‘em!

QOTD: I predict that i will be drinking a couple good bottles of wine!

….no, really, i haven’t been following but i just flipped a coin and it chose Ravens!

    Marc-China Wine Tours

Never would have expected a mass market wine would do so well! Now I’ll have to try it.

    QOTD: I predict great commercials
