Hey Gary…. I feel the energy behind this show. Love the history about the wines. Keep it up bud!

    Congrats again regarding the baby….

    Cheers!

Gotta love the name Psychedelic Rooster Sticky, even if it tastes like a wet tongue, almost have to try it for the name!!!

QOTD: I agree Cards/Ravens, and I think the Cards will take it.. But as a long time Bears fan, I just am not into it this year!!

Pleased to know about the Bogle. Will pick up a bottle or 2 to see if we concur. And another ‘congrats’ to the ‘V’ fam.

Looking forward to this epidsode. After I watch the last 2! I have been with non vayniacs too much this week.

Once again Congrats to Gary and (growing)family.!

Happy friday to all and to all a good wine.

I like cycling, not football, or baseball, or hockey. They seem to loose the joy of playing when it’s all about how many millions of dollars you get signed for. Also on a bike you can ride in support of your team or ride solo to beat your best. It’s kind of hard to throw a ball to yourself.

OK, you got me. I’m going to have to go home and crack open a Petite Sirah from my cellar. I’m always happy when the cheaper wine comes out on top – that’s what I’m watching for!

    QOTD: Steelers/Cardinals for sure.

Good one. I recommend you try the Bogle with fish and shrimp tacos, No Joke, actually bad petite syrah will do as well as the pairing usually brings a little more out of them: Grilled white corn tortillas, light chilli sauce, and tomato-ey Marin/Shrimp stew with lettuce and cilantro bits, YUUUM !

  22. January 16, 2009

    Dr T in NC

You liked the Bogle even a bit more than I did. I agree, good QPR. I wonder if too many places are getting into Petite Sirah without really understanding it

I’m hoping for the Eagles, but I won’t bet on it!

im going right after work to get a bottle of the bogle 2006 petite ..only 8 bucks and some change =] hell yeah ill try it ! thanks gary !

    Cards vs. Steelers

Tough to win 3-straight vs. Ravens, but Steelers can do it.

Hold on, when’s the last time you wore the same shirt for two consecutive shows? Just noticed. Am I right? I know you probably did it for a special, unannounced prize to the first to notice.

;) Another solid show for the future First Dad of Wine

QOTD: I am still going with my preseason prediction. Chargers over the Giants Merriman and Rivers are co-mvps of the superbowl and Giants fans ask how the hell did we end up with Shelie Manning. Check that Eagles over Ravens. Now I’m depressed thanks Gary.

We have had a few Bogals in the past, that were not too impressive, but never the Petite Sirah. I will look forward to it soon.

QOTD: Cards / Pitt and Pitt by a lot in the SB.

  35. January 16, 2009

    Scott EJ

Bogle continues to be that *darling* of a wine that nobody wants to admit to drinking. A guilty pleasure, if you will. I’ll bet you a hundo that if their Old Vine Zin was in that big blind Zin episode you did a while back, it woulda killed.

QOTD: This is one of the toughest final four to pick in a looonnng time. So many intangibles, yet so many similarities. BUT, I’m gonna go: Cards/Steelers. I just don’t see Flaco bringing it home and I do see Warner one upping McNabb. All-in-all, I think it’s going to be some great football.

    GV,

I suspect the dessert style is fortified with that alcohol, picking brix and residual sugar combo. Would be kind of a weak port. Not my stuff for sure especially after your comments.

Boggle, gee they are running wild with that stuff…

Shocking! One of the more readily available wines anywhere (shops and
restaurants) and it scores an 89. Like you, I haven’t had a Bogle PS in some
time, but I’ll certainly be giving the 06 a whirl. Thanks for the skinny.

QOTD: It’s an all PA day in Tampa

  42. January 16, 2009

    PSirah Tampa

I find it really hard to believe the Bogle was best of show, but in my opinion it didn’t really have good competition. There are much better Petite’s out there, but they tend to be produced in small quantities and not distributed.

I have over 400 bottles of Petite Sirah in my cellar (25% of the cellar). What does it take to get Gary’s acknowledgement as a real fan?

QOTD: I predict the Super Bowl will be in TAMPA!

QOTD: Eagles v Ravens. Eagles win in a war of attrition.

  50. January 16, 2009

    Gary Boyd

Good to see you finally got around to the Bogle. I keep a case around most of the time for weeknights…Have been picking it up for a year or better since they were ranked a “Best Buy” at the local wine shop. They seem to have a hard time keeping it in stock it’s gotten so popular.

Great show…Congrats again on the family addition.

  51. January 16, 2009

    Dominus

Nice show especially to have on dedicated to a Vayniac. I’ve always liked the Bogle but it’s been some time since I’ve had one so I’ll add it to tomorrow’s shopping list.

QOTD: The exact opposite of your picks: Eagles/Steelers, i.e. PA SB with the Steelers winning it all. We won’t get into how this year’s playoffs have been a debacle. 3/4ths of them don’t belong.

    Cheers!

  52. January 16, 2009

    David Benjamin

QOTD: Sorry to disappoint but I’m going with Eagles v Steelers. A couple of rugged defenses, would like to see the match up.

Thanks for always leading the way in motivation, hustle, and most importantly, being real.

  53. January 16, 2009

I am kicking myself for passing on the Bogel Petite Sirah I saw in the World Market (20 miles away) not even 2 hours ago!! There was something in my brain that said no, I may have had a tasting in the past that I did not like.

QOTD: A team will win and a team will lose, and if we’re lucky, there may be some inappropriateness in the half time ;)

Hey Gary, I sent you a message on Facebook since my friend request has been pending for SO LONG! haha, you said “friend me!” :)
QOTD: unfortunately, I can’t answer any football questions, “I got nothing.”

  64. January 16, 2009

    Brian Barrick

Bogle has been the best value in Petite Sirah for years, but I haven’t tried one lately. Glad to hear they are still maintaining the quality without raising the price.

David Bruce is better known for their Pinot Noir, but I haven’t tried one since Ken Foster left (he is now making Pinot at Mahoney Vineyards in Carneros, which I recommend trying).

I’ve enjoyed the regular Petite Sirah bottling from Greg Brown (T-Vine) over the years, though it is by no means a value play. His wines tend to be big, concentrated and well structured, produced in very small quantities. Too bad the dessert wine doesn’t measure up.

    QOTD: No comment.

  65. January 16, 2009

Steelers, and it does not matter who else.
Love today’s show (other than the Ravens junk)

  66. January 16, 2009

Enjoyed the show. It’s always fun to see the lowest-priced wine wine :-) .

QOTD: No clue. I couldn’t have told you who was playing in the Superbowl had you not named them. And I don’t even know which cities these teams are from. I thought the Cardinals were a baseball team — St. Louis?.

QOTD: Superbowl= who cares?! Like to see Eagles vs. Steelers and have both teams beat the cr#p out of each other, so next year the Giants have less to worry about! LOL! Tampa is going to have to import “security” from NYC & LA to contain an all PA Bowl!!

That said, my next buy is Bogle PS at 9 bones…I’ll take 4 please! It’s all about the QPR ! Thanks Gary, good find on a Friday!

As a member of the CKC, much thanks for the shout out. I definitely gave my last petit sirah a “meh”, but the Bogle is definitely going on the list, because…why not? I always feel a little bit of a challenge to find a good example of a region or varietal after I’ve had a bad one.

QOTD: Ravens and Eagles. As a Delaware resident, I am equidistant from them both, and as a Delaware resident, I’m going with the Ravens for the win (Joe Flacco – highest drafted University of Delaware player ever)

Yeah, fellow CKCs! I’m going to have to find that Bogle, I think I’ve seen it.

Gary, What happened today? Bogle beating David Bruce and Lolinis?!?! One of the many reasons why I love wine. Price does not always equal quality. Thank you as per usual for the great show.

QOTD Eagles-Pitt (hopefully, have u seen the ravens D?) I’ll do you one better. I’ll give you the Super Bowl Champions! E A G L E S! EAGLES! Thanks Gary

Wow, BOGLE … who woulda thunk it? THAT is why we keep watching you Gary, your utter lack of ulterior motive. I trust you, and have almost never been steered wrong (the Los Alamos Malbec was the only one I can think of that I didn’t agree with!) … dunno why I thought to mention that? You have brought so much good wine to me and my gal Darcey that, well … we are just damned appreciative, and want you to know that!

BUT HEY … how about the more recent efforts from Bodegas Victoria???????? You loved the Longaz in episode 200 (so did we, massively), and the Longus was well worth $50 … PLEASE get some of THEIR recent efforts in to try.

THANKS so much for all you do.

Had the Bruce one and really liked it. The initial wasn’t so good but I let it sit open over night and about a half hour in my glass after pouring and it was great after that. Going to have to try the Rooster, never had a PS Desert wine.

Bogle is something I see every time I go by my supermarket wine department, but I’d be willing to bet ($100, of course) there’s no Petit Sirah. Guess I’ll have to go an actual wine store some time.

QOTD: I’d like to see Cards/Ravens. That would be a good matchup. Since the Cards have won only 1 playoff game in 61 years, it’d be nice to see them win. Let’s hear it for old school: Jim Hart QB and WR Mel Gray.

  96. January 17, 2009

    Bearcat

Great show…as a fan of Petites I loved it. No suprise on the Bogle though but now the secrets out and I hope my place still has some when I need more.

I’d love the Cards to win but being from AFC Central land I know one of our teams will win it all.

By the way, it’s no longer possible to friend you up on facebook. 4720 friends seems to be the upper limit. :-(

Gary, I agree with you on the “vintage thing”. I had plenty of wines that I pick up due to enjoyable past vintages and get displeased with the present(current)one. However, I still will try future vintages for hope the quality will be resumed.
Even though I know it goes both ways with vintages, I am a little more reluctant to buy a wine again that I found less enjoyable from the start. I guess the negativeness tends to stand out more.

  99. January 17, 2009

Great show, I always appreciate a little lesson on an under the radar varietal. And big props to Bogle for taking down the big boys.

Since giants screwed up, i guess this year will go to the cards. i just like the idea of birds fighting each other. if only there was a psychedelic rooster team. p.s. got the wrestler on bootleg today, maybe bogle and pizza night? thanks for the insight

  101. January 17, 2009

    Jim in Atlanta

Glad to see a good value like Bogle. It has been good for years and is in ample supply, which is good for us. QOTD – I will agree with your picks. Who would think the Cardinals have a shot at it??

bummer they all showed so poorly! super bummer since i now have you on my Pioneer 60″ Elite via Apple TV man! you should have tried Jeff’s Twisted Oak PS or Runquist’s PS – both of which are super yummy.

    QotD: AZ (like you) vs…

Pittsburgh. think the Flacco story comes to an end.

Thanks Gary, I’m always happy when you have wines I’ve had….I’ve enjoyed Bogle for many years but have not had the 2006….I can’t wait to try it again….as for the Superbowl question I think it’s ths Steelers and the Cardinals…

Glad to see a wine in my budget beating out the big boyzzz!

Had a friend recommend Bogle in the past as well, will have to give it a shot.

QOTD: Cardinals vs. Ravens – lock it up!

Nice to see my taste is in line with the “master” – just as good at the same price point is Concannon Petite.

    QOTD: All Pennnsylvania Superbowl…………….Sorry

  109. January 17, 2009

    Chris F.

I have drank a butt load of Bogle and it is always pretty decent, nothing to write home to mom about but a great deal for 8 to 10 bones.

Defense wins championships, you got Pittsburgh and Baltimore 1 and 2 in the league and 3rd you got Philadelphia. The cards are 17th or 19th in the league.I don’t think Pittsburgh can beat Baltimore three time this year so I’m taking Baltimore and I can’t see the cards beating philly soooo…….Baltimore and Philadelphia in the superbowl with Baltimore taking it by a nose at the wire.

  110. January 17, 2009

    Kelly Goff

Nice to see that you agree with my old stand by. Bogle is great for inexpensive nights in with your peeps.

Super Bowl, I hate to say it, but Philly and Baltimore. Go Baltimore!

  111. January 17, 2009

    Matthew L

Nice show Gary. I see Bogle all the time, but haven’t had any in a while

QOTD/Prediction: Eagles vs Steelers. Gotta give love for the Eagles. That’s my son’s favorite team.

Just took my first taste of the Bogle 2006! Ran out and bought a few bottles on GV’s advice. Very nice – and going very good with a little chedder and hummus…mmmmm

    Gary,

I don’t know much about NFL football – other than it’s pretty much unwatchable and 98% of the outcomes are determined in advance – so I’ll leave my predictions to two guys who know football and gambling.

“I’ll take the Eagles” – Alex Karras

“I’ll take the Browns, err, Ravens” – Paul Hornung

    Hope this helps,

    Roger Goodell

QOTD: Cards and Steelers, Steelers win 24 – 13

Nedd to find the Bogle to try. My favorite Petite Syrah to date is the 2006 Rosenblum Heritage Clones.

  117. January 17, 2009

    Joel Aiken

Great show! I’m totally gonna seek out the Bogle for I am a CKC who just spent a cool 400 bones on books again this quarter up at Eastern Washington U.

You should do a show about wines you can find at Safeway, pretty much the best option I have for getting vino.

Oh, QOTD: Ravens 17 – Pitt 6 (Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are gonna knock some heads around) and Philly 30 – Cards 24 (in OT)

  118. January 17, 2009

Last time I had Bogle Petite Sirah (a few years ago) was the last time I had a Petite Sirah. It was so awful it turned me off to the varietal. Tasted like a petroleum derivative, or a bit like a ride on the NJ Turnpike. I find it hard to believe that Bogle now produces a good wine.

Looks like you’re sold out of the Bogle already. Was looking forward to a good QPR!

    JeffWalnuts

Hey Gary! Great show. We tried the Bogle tonight with the Concannon Central Coast Petite Sirah 2005. The latter was more tannic (probably built to last) but both were very good. Always great to learn from you. See you next time on the Left Coast.

  125. January 18, 2009

    TobyDrummer

Strangest thing happened tonight…wife and I opened a Concannon Petite Sirah at dinner. An hour and a half later JeffWalnuts shows up with a bottle of your rated Bogle. He forces me to watch the show at gun point but he is from Canada and doesn’t own a gun. Anyway, enjoyed the show can’t believe we had two bottles of Petite Sirah handy shortly after this show. Happy Birthday shout out to your Petite Sirah friends.

  126. January 18, 2009

Eagles/Cards….. Philly loses another super bowl and I swear ill never cheer for them again.

Loved it. I’m the wine snob. My brother works at a great pub. He brings home Bogle the night you air this.
David Bruce makes some great pinots. Bogle makes the best QPR Petite Sirah. I do love Stags’ Leap but it is also 3x price.

  128. January 18, 2009

Eugene: At least the hated (from dallas) Eagles get to the NFC Championship game.

    Jeff R

Yet another great show … keep up the good work Gary. I enjoy Petite Sirah (as well as Mencia from yesterday’s episode) so it was great to see shows on these wines. Good to hear on the Bogle, that can get a lot of people out there to try something different.

I bought the Lolonis from you (just last week), hope it comes together as it ages.

QTD – Definately Pittsburgh and I’m stuck on the NFC pick. I’ll have to go Eagles, they are on a roll. For whatever reason, Cardinals seem a bit inexperienced (even though they have Warner and James) in the big games. So it would not at all surprise me to see the Cardinals win but I’ll go with Eagles.

  131. January 18, 2009

    Gary,

You say “friend me up”, and I sent you a facebook friend request a couple months back, but you haven’t confirmed me…what gives? Anyways, been watching for awhile now, and I can’t wait to catch ya at the boston wine expo.

QOTD: Pitt vs. Eagles, as much as I don’t like to say it.

  132. January 18, 2009

    christopher foley

Wish you had more time on those national tv shows Gary, gotta get you out there more.
I too have asked you to friend me up on facebook, and myspace… no response?
Anyways great show, I actually am happily surprised about the bogle winning the round, I often suggest that this wine is a good play for people un-familiar with petite sirah. Glad I’m not the only one around that enjoys this wine.

    QOTD: Pitt and Eagles

  133. January 18, 2009

    Lon Cohen

Bogle is definitely a great value play. I drink it all the time. One of my favorites under $10. Especially when I’m playing cards. Agree that it’s no wimp, very bold. Glad to see you liked it.

  134. January 18, 2009

    jim

Steelers v Cards, with the iggles left at the altar again…

I don’t mind seeing Warner do well, that guy works it like no other… stocking shelves, playing arena and Canadia… gotta give that man props.

  135. January 18, 2009

    Dan-o

GV – Decent show. I like the Petite Sirahs that I have had. I am a bit surprised by the Bogle win. My wife and I had a 2003 Elyse Petite Sirah from Rutherford, CA. You should have an Elyse wine on your show at some point – good stuff.

    QOTD – I-76 Super Bowl – Eagles v Steelers.

  136. January 18, 2009

    David Dadekian

QOTD: I have none, no idea who’s playing today, sorry football doesn’t do it for me.

However, Petite Sirah I love! Really, my wife and I are both huge fans of almost everyone we’ve had, so to see you pan a couple is disappointing. However, I’ve had other Bogles and was unimpressed so we’ll try their PS now. Thanks.

QOTD: Um, go sports teams! Rah!

I am so glad the Bogle was good, since I know I can find that wine around here. My DH was looking for a good wine to go with his steak at a restaurant the other night and I said, ooh, PS if you can find it…but of course, he couldn’t find one BTG, and that was on one of the best wine lists in town (http://www.znbar.com/wines.html). Bummer.

Keep up the great work, and don’t lose the Vay-ner-CHUK; we love it!!

    QOTD: Cards vs Steelers
Hahahahahahaha. It’s Monday so I don’t win anything for that “prediction”.

I guess I have to try my first Bogle.

    MichellePen

It’s always strange how when you really have a strong feeling that’s something’s going to be good it lets you down, isn’t it Gary.

Is it because we build it up too much in our minds, so it can never deliver?

Too late for QOTD but being an English lass have to say not too hot on my Superbowl. You need to go global with your sports predictions now you’re a ZZZZ list celebrity Mr Vaynerchuk

  143. January 19, 2009

    David

Thanks for the great episode. Went out and bought a bottle of the Bogle, and it’s definitely delicious wine. Can’t wait for times to get a little lighter so i can join your wine of the month club.

  144. January 19, 2009

    Little Jonny

Nice show today, GV. Time for a Czech or Hungarian wine episode! Maybe a non-california zinfandel show? Just some thoughts…

QOTD: Well, I would have said Eagles-Steelers, but we all know I would have been wrong… Congrats to the Cards on making franchise history!

  145. January 19, 2009

    Jason

I knew it! I buy Bogle wines by the case. Petite Syrah is one of my favorites. This is great. For all the wine snobs that bash me for my 8.99 bottle of wine, I have a GV episode to shove in their face. Gary, at some point, we’ll need you to review the following just for sh*tz and giggles:

Crane Lake Petite Syrah: $2.99 (that’s right)
Loius Jadot: Beaujolais Villages, Red Burgundy table wine: $7.99

  146. January 19, 2009

    Couve

    Thanks for the Bogul tip.

For cheap wines, I wish these big US wineries would just stick to mixing up something that tastes good. Instead, every sub-$10 cab tastes like a cheap imitation of a $20+ cab. I get this from cheap US/Aus wines, but not from places like France and Portugal. They should just keep it cheap and let the grapes do what they do best.

  147. January 19, 2009

    PastafariPirate

Bogle was my ‘gateway’ bottle to Petite Sirah, got me hooked. Now I’m into the heavier stuff (Stag’s Leap, Earthquake) but for my money Bogle is hard to beat. For a few dollars more, I also like the Vinum Pets. I also enjoy most of the $9-$15 ‘field blends’ with Petite & Zin rounding out a bunch of other grapes.

  148. January 19, 2009

    Tim Wiseman

I tried the Bogle this past weekend at a get together, I was pretty shocked at how much I liked it, and always judged it as a ‘grocery store’ wine. Shame on me, a tasty wine, at a great value. Great show Gary!

QOTD: Unfair, I already know …

  149. January 19, 2009

    joeblackasnite

Recently we did a side by side tasting of David Bruce Petite and Rosenblum ‘Heritage Clones’ Petite and the Rosenblum BURIED the David Bruce! Quite a surprise considering the David Bruce name. But like Gary said it was a little out of balance and not all there. I reccomend Rosenblum Petites to anyone, they are quite nice. And I love Bogle Petite for the money…

qotd: my prediction is the steelers will dominate the cards

I thought Bogle was a bad word?

The Eagles just won’t do it, will they

  152. January 19, 2009

    Mr.Ambassador

    Go Bogle Go.

Official prediction for the Superbowl is the Steelers – they’ve proven they already have the officials on their side so why wouldn’t they win? Cardinals better hope Bill Leavy’s officiating team isn’t making a return appearance or it’ll be like Superbowl XL Seahawks-Steelers all over again…

  153. January 19, 2009

    Steve

Gary: Wow. Your most striking statement on the petite sirah video was when you were talking about some taste “on the back end of the mid-palate” in the D. Bruce wine. Dude, I don’t even know if I have found the mid-palate yet at all when I taste vino, and here you are talking about the back end of it. So I think you’re in another realm from me, as far as “pal” sophistication, but I still like to listen. Best of luck in 09 with the baby. She’ll change your life. Or he will. Go Steelers. Or, the wife think’s Warner’s cute, so either way, it’s cool.

  154. January 19, 2009

    SAMMY S

Hey Gary, Another Great show today…. Petite Sirah or Durif as it known is here in Australia is another big red that Australia produces, its not produced on the same volumes as Shiraz, but the style is very similar. Very concentrated, dark plum, full bodied and many times is over oaked. The Goulburn Valley, in the northern part of Victoria produces some of the best Durif in the country.

Go Cardinals……I have a vested interest in the Cardinals, as their punter is an Australian and was the former punter for the NY Jets..

  155. January 19, 2009

    purplejuicebruce

We need a Petite Sirah week, Bogle is ok but there are many great ones and it seems the Vaner Nation has embraced this variety so lets see some serious tasting of my favorite grape. Go Cards! who would have thought it.

  156. January 19, 2009

    my2cents

    Nice show, thanks Gary.

I predict,,,that I won’t know the outcome of the Super Bowl, unless someone tells me.

I would rater watch The Thunder Show than watch the super bowl.

Real men, and women, watch The Thunder Show!

(Good thing we don’t comment on each others comments on this page, that one would be cause for much ado about nothing. Ha ha)

    Rats.

That was supposed to be “I’d RATHER watch The Thunder Show than the super
    bowl”.

New prediction: The Jets have it in the bag!

    Bruce

Petite Sirah – love it. And I definitely think Bogle does a great job with it. But is you want Real Petite Sirah IMO – Fess Parker!! It’s got dirt in it, DIRT I tell you – my friends call it my barnyard wine. Good show and love the series, thanks.

  159. January 20, 2009

    YoungDave

Great Petite Sirah show, tough guy. Bogle taking the title? I’m dumbfounded. Lots of other great Petite Sirah / Durif out there as well…

QOTD: Cards yes, Ravens? Maybe a Cards-Steelers showdown instead. Maybe.

  160. January 20, 2009

    Bernard Kenner

    GV,
I wish you would have re-tasted the Bogle after the Lolonis. I find that retrying a wine that you like from early in a tasting can be very interesting. You know that the palate changes, even in a short tasting session. I trust you know your palate, but if you haven’t used this technique, give it a whirl.

  161. January 20, 2009

    Eric S.

Intersting show with the Petite Sirah, can’t believe the Bogle scored so high. I like the idea you have of bringing in more wines that you can find easily. And by the way, were you wearing the same shirt in back-to-back episodes??

  162. January 20, 2009

    Cardinals 30

We have an ALL Steelers Super Bowl, folks (Steelers vs. Steelers West, if you haven’t checked out the Cards’ coaching staff—great story)!! I’m loving it! I live in Steelers Country, and all four of my siblings live in Phoenix. This is WAR!

    GO STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELERS!!!!!!!!

  168. January 22, 2009

    Nick Hewitt

I live in NZ we are more into Rugby, and have no idea about superbowl, have drunk alot of beer at a number of superbowl parties in Australia and London.

I love these shows when there is an upset and top wines don’t pull through, you must do more. I think hearing the bad news is more entertaining than hearing the good news about a wine.

How about a show about Petit Verdot, see if you can get any from Victoria, Australia in the northern regions.

Gary, what is your opinion on supermarket wine? Check out this article a wine writer in Nz wrote about supermarket wine.

I have had all four of those wines as I am a big fan of Petit Sirah and the David Bruce in most years would win this but my favorites are Rosenblum and Turley. Some years the Bogle is very hot but usually a good buy.
I already know so my prediction would be Cards Steelers. Great guess after the fact.

  175. January 26, 2009

    pawncop

Well, since I am typing this on the Monday before SB my prediction is pretty biased.

Have been working like a fool, and not so much time to enjoy the epidsodes on a timely basis.

Good episode, have a PS to try that I received for Christmas and will be looking for the Bogle at my store.

Thank you for you knowledge and expertise.

  176. January 26, 2009

Ehh… sports? Even if I lived in America I wouldn’t know a thing about American football teams!
I just don’t get why people actually like watching a load of men running around a field!
    ; )
Wish I had some petite Sirah right now..!

  178. January 30, 2009

    Brad

It is not a surprise to me that the “cheap” Petite Sirah was the best, it has been my experience that regardless of price, they all taste pretty much the same. So for me, I usually go for $10 or less.

  179. January 30, 2009

Nice. The Bogle crushes the competition. Btw, your face was hilarious when you finally took a sippy sip on that Psychedelic Rooster.

Bogle wins? Wow thats kind of shocking. Im somewhat excited because I got a Bogle port for Christmas. Now Im kind of wanting to open it now! Damn wines tempting me! The most recent was TAIT (THE BALL BUSTER) 2006 Barossa Valley and wow it was rated 92 points and it was one of my favorates.Have you done and shows on blened wines ?

I listen to the thunder show on my iphone and love it! I needed something to compare your palate to mine and the 2006 Bogle was accessible and yummy! Now I have a better idea where your palate is and how to use your references to taste on the tongue as well as how you arrive at your flavors during the infamous Sniffy, Sniff! Thanks for the education!

  184. September 23, 2009
