QOTD: For me 2009 is a year about moving on, so there’s lots and lots of things I want to do. Get my blog back up and running, do a couple of marathons, meet as many cool, new people as I can and do my best at work.

Tough QOTD. I am trying to stay positive during these tough economic times and help others survive until better times return.

This is first time I am on the website of famous wine critic and I have to admit it is pretty unique! I will be here more often.

It was so cool hanging out and drinking some wine with you guys in San Francisco. I was really blown away by the burgundies Alex brought out. This was a very special experience. For a wine newbie like me, to be introduced to great wine like this was really eye opening.

QOTD: I’m going to learn more about wines, spend time with my family and our new dog.

Great comments all around, I’m very humbled. It was a lot of fun, despite being completely surprised by this after a 13 hour day.

I opened another ’92 Leroy Pommard when I got home so my friends could drink along as they watched. It was also very good, Leroy is so consistent.

I bid on this wine in the Acker auction and lost. Guess I see who I lost to. Great wine and what a great get to have someone bring a wine like this to taste out of the blue. Congrats. Hope to just make it through the year.

Speaking on that wine being a baby, it just made me fear some of the wines that I need to cellar for 10-20 years… God I hope I pop them at the right time….. always a crapshoot. I love old wines, especially Burgundies. Yeah, I agree that 15 years old is not very old, but like you said, when you consider that the vintage was largely panned, it is pretty impressive.

QOTD: I think I will try to stimulate the economy some more.

Interesting episode with the little camera. It’s a little unfocused on the wine, though. I was much more interested in what was going on in the background. Anyway…
