I’m sitting on a bottle of 2000 Biondi-Santi Brunello Di Montalcino. I hope I enjoy it.

QOTD regarding small talk – I like the bits of small talk.. you don’t want it to be too strict, otherwise you loose the impromptu quality of the show.

first off–04 brunello is all over the place–so perfect show!
semi qotd–yeah–give us the chat–wine spectator does “what we’re tasting now” from the editors, a new feature.

legit is a great word–i say it all the time!

Millefoglie Marzemino (i think?)!!! Free samples at the winelib two nights ago. Great match with Red Burg. This pairing should be on the Thunder Show! AMM

1 QOTD: your schtick is that your unedited and real, so take us where your mind takes us, whether its on topic or not.

2 QOTD: for me Silence of the Lambs

3 QOTD: Legit, Im a linguist, I notice that its a backformation, like edit for editor. Not a productive word formation rule in English, so its cool to spot the rare ones.

Good show on Brunello’s. I fell in love with them when I visited Tuscany. We spent a day wine tasting in Montepulciano. I would also like to see an episode on Vino Noble di Montepulciano. Its more of a value play to me with some of the same characteristics.

Mini QOTD: I enjoy the little side comments during the show, also I enjoy your idea of the cellar potential of the wines. I need some wine that will age as my cellar is a little over stocked at this time.

Now that my busy winter is over my current goal is to loose my lurker status.

Good show with the Brunellos.. I have a weak spot for ‘em

love the small talk… don’t stop or become too formula driven (shake it up). If a wine makes an impression on you…. blurt it out and share (the forums are for that too). The show is not old school type it up weeks before publishing and wire it in, is it? Otherwise it would the thunder snail-mail newsletter….

TROY. kinda took a fiver in the middle.the movie opens with classic sweaty barbarian in your face stab you in the neck action and ends with epic showdown between heroes. in between was a weeping flabby old guy.

An other point of interest : is it possible to order from your shop over sea to germany ? How much will tho shopping costs are?

QOD: Did you ever try the Riad from Marokko?..!

    Thanks for your passion,

    Jonas

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY, DO THE BACON.

Give me Wine & Bacon TV and I’ll never visit another website.

Now, on to the other bacon– er, stuff:
Keep on conversing. The off-topic ramblings are what keeps the show vibrant, real and, not least, really interesting when the wines aren’t up my alley.

And QOTD: Hammer. I know I ain’t first to that party, but the Baggy Panted One owns the word, straight up. Mobsters who’ve started paying their taxes are a distant second. Bacon.

Dude, keep the small talk coming!

  17. March 25, 2009

    Michael Schoonmaker

Semi-QOTD: The small talk is good, but the “meta talk” gets a little old (talking about the show while doing the show).

QOTD1: The Matrix. I never had this problem, but a bunch of my friends haven’t seen the “good parts” because they’ve fallen asleep during the long exposition in the first part of the movie.

QOTD2: MC Hammer. Too Legit To Quit.

Way to get back in it, big fan of Brunellos. Three questions of the day today, nice. Only remember 2 of them, my vote is for you to digress, more fun that way and as for legit, I don’t use it. But I thought you would like this defintion from wikipedia as you are a big wrestiling fan, “In professional wrestling, legit (from “legitimate”) is a slang term used to describe a match or event which has not been booked, or a performer who relies on wrestling skill and ability, as opposed to his gimmick, to gain notoriety and popularity with fans. In the recent past many matches and wrestlers were presented as being “legit”, although this was not always, or even often, the case. Two of the most famous exceptions to the rule (in actuality and known backstage for being “legit”) were Lou Thesz and Frank Gotch.”

It was a short and tight show. I really liked it. 40 minutes plus WLTVs, what sometimes happens, is a bit too long.

    To the wines:
Argiano is a classic and I always love their Brunello. Maybe also, because it is made quite internationally.

QOTD/2 small-talk ist good, but don’t make it too long.

QOTD: I am from Germany and had to look up the translation first to even know what it means. So I did not think much.

Oh, and by the way: nice mini-me-gary-picutre on facebook. You look like today plus hair and then washed at 90°C ;-) .

I just got turned onto your show by a friend and thought that keeping on topic is a plus but without the idle random topic u dont learn those random facts about wine we dont know. so please continue on with what ever pops in your head buddy.

I just got a friend turned on to your show and he suggested that Lord of The Rings definitely had way to many, “uh-huh, move on with the story already” moments. Especially the ending to the Return of the King where it had five endings, you weren’t sure where it was going to end up.

Just finished the Diggnation episode with you in it, all about the Bacon.

QOTD1: Flabby, love the side tracks.
QOTD3: MC Hammer. What else is there to think of. If I could ASCII art the hand signs I would.

I love Brunello Di Montalcino wines. They’re in fact some of the best tasting of the middle Italy (in my opinion, along with Sicilian), and of course a bit expensive, they’re worth it. I first tried Brunello when J Jacuzzi offered us a bottle of his personal cave at Iannilli Ristorante a decade ago.

QOTD1: keep going, experiment, it’s nice to see how WLTV evolves.

QOTD2: Authenticity in form and manner, true to itself, ameliorative.

Hi Gary, love the thunder show. You mentioned bacon and i was in Napa a few weeks ago and had a cab sav at Del Dotto that tasted exactly like bacon. I think it was 05 and out of the barrel. You probably wont read this posting tho:>)

Just watched the Conan clip, Gary is tiny compared to Conan, but great clip.

The Village, good movie but feel asleep during the forest sequence.

“Legit”? This beer I’m drinking is legit, true ale but cold so drinks easy. Not your carbonated regular lager.

    Good Stuff
