Wine Spectator scores the 2004 Brunello’ds a 92-97 as a vintage and Wine Advocate scores Tuscany a 96 but Antonio Galloni says “There is absolutely no reason to get worked up about 2004 Brunello and commit capital without tasting the wines first.” So today Gary Vaynerchuk will try the 1st two that have come in!

Loved the episode.

Like I told you, I am a new fan of the show so of course I had to check out the old episode of the Brunellos. Although they sound like lovely wines, I agree with other people in that it would be nice if we could see some recession friendly wines.

QOTD 1: Small talk is like foreplay for the mouth, necessary to get a good convo going.

QOTD 2: Mad Max the Road Warrior. The part with the weird people at the oil refinery. Actually, the whole movie was weird, and kinda boring but you just had to keep watching it.

QOTD 3: Legit, according to the merriam-webster has been around since 1908. My conclusion, it is an essential part of the english language and should be used anytime formal conversation gets to stuffy.

Got over that cold pretty quick Gary, was it the Mezcal?

QOTD: 1. Just be spontaneous
2. I just saw La Sonambula (HDD Met Opera) at the movies. I did fall asleep, but woke up and enjoyed the rest. The reviews were not so good, but I thought the principal singers were great.
3. I like the word legit. I think I mostly use it to mean whether or not someone or something is on the up and up.

Loved the show! Liked the length too – much easier to get time to look at something running for the 15 minute mark!

Legit – I just take it at face value a concatenated version of legitimate. Perhaps a version of the word legitimate with forcefulness. It’s so legit, it won’t let you not know about it.

I really must try some Brunello’s one day, but with all such things the massive price differences with some of the wines available down here combined with the inevitable different experiences to be had as a result, makes me a little concerned that I won’t like ‘em for the wrong reasons and go the whole once bitten twice shy route…

#Mari: what Gary and crew are saying is that it’s all about what the Brunelli possess. Vino is possessive, my girl! No one says “brunellos” as that merely abuses the Italian (not to mention the English ear, as it comes off sounding like “nose”). V’Chuk was legit in using the apostrophe because it’s all about possessin’ the good stuff. The man said it’s “the little nice brown one” … as in “the little nice brown one possesses…”, as in all the Brunelli deserve some respect.

Great show…Brunello’s are one of my favorite wines…of all the great Brunello’s I have tasted over the years, they typically have an earthy/mushroom taste at their core…maybe its just me. Can’t wait to try a few of these 2004’s. Keep it flabby brother!!

Gary, great show, have been watching for over a year now…im a server at a grillhouse|winebar and thought it would be awesome if, instead of the sweatbands, you had those rubber bracelets like the “livestrong” ones, just thought it would be kind of neat for your fans that way we could show a suttle appreciation while at work and maybe even spread the thunder that way…QOTD: simply put…M.C. QUOTD 1: Go for it with the rantyness if you wish… but don’t make it a rule. I really like when you get so into an ep that you start spouting off cool facts and minutia about a varietal or an area of the world. I’m all about the educational aspect, but don’t wanna stifle your creativity

QUOTD 2: Mission Impossible II. I remember fancy, flashy beginning with the Flamenco dancing, and a truly awesome John Wu fight scene at the end… the middle got almost laughably ridiculous though with all the face-switching, and I thought… WHERE THE HELL is this movie going? It figured itself out, though…

QUOTD 3: Legit is MY favorite word of the moment too. I don’t know what made me start using it all of the sudden. Don’t overuse it or else I’ll have to give it up.

Definitely, definitely, Hammer practically has a trademark on Legit. If you’re going to keep using it, you’d better have him as a guest (or maybe Ace of Spaces tasting with Jay-Z?).

I like the digressions about the other wine you’re drinking — if other people prefer the focus, maybe you could do some what-I’ve-been-drinking video blogs that are more in the style of your garyv vblogs, just you in a chair talking about what you’ve been drinking.

Definitely when you twittered about drinking Diamond Creek from the 70s, I wanted to know more about what that was like (I found an ‘88 Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill for 42 bones(!) last fall, so I’m curious george about that).

I like the quiet, tense parts of movies where you know the roof is about to fall in, but everyone’s still and silent waiting for it to happen. Usually it’s movies like Cold Mountain or A Good Year that never pull me in at all.
