Great episode theme, who even knew they made wine in MI?

    QOTD- University of Denver

Good to see another blinder, they’re the ones I enjoy the most. Being from the UK, I don’t understand the college wine thing. Are they colleges that teach wine making or just any college that happen to have a wine production?

I think I like the shows more when you hate the wines. I thought it was hilarious when you gave wine #4 a stern look.

qotd: I guess it’s UC Davis for all of their work in the wine world.

I love the blind tastings becuase they always crack you up, remembering the “other 46″ episode.

QoTD – Probably gotta be the one I attend, Bowling Green OH, or Ball State

I’m a big University of Arizona Fan. Go WIldcats, and yet I attend Arizona State University, their rivals.

This was a good show. It kinda points out that not everything can be viewed from a academic perspective. A lot of the time, it just has to “feel right.”

    “…make-up on an alien…” now there’s a concept!
    Fun as always.
QOTD: UVM, my long ago alma mater. (In spite of the big cheese Mr. Fogel, who does not impress me in the least) Be watching the hockey Cats on Thursday!

Wine spectator is a pawn for the California Wine industry. They have BIG financial ties to CA. Their coverage is biased based on this. Most california wines are flabby and boring – but you won’t hear Wine Spectator reporting this.

    GV,

How come you didn’t taste wines from the respective states? Instead of picking wines from random states? The college theme is interesting but doesn’t really tell me much about the other 46. I love you, your my brother – the Reverend Ed Sultan

Big ups from AZ. My favorite colleges are Northern Arizona University and Columbia. Good concept for the show, but I like shows in which I can purchase the wines. My bracket got killed by Pitt and Memphis losing. Oh well. Next year. Peace.

Great show, sorry to see my Big Ten brother Michigan State get trashed but its cool. I’ve had some of the beer made at by the University of Wisconsin and it was pretty good, not sure if they make wine though.

QOTD: Easiest question ever. Easily Wisconsin, I grew up there, went there, was their mascot “Bucky Badger”, and still live in Madison. I love it.

QOTD- Indiana University. I have been through a lot with IU, from a basketball fan as a kid with Coach Knight to getting one of the pieces of paper on the wall from there to faculty positions and consulting.

Love the 50 score, I’m sure Easter at the parents’ will bring something similar. Ol’ Dad loves to find the Hoosier wines at the little liquor store with the smelly guy in the cage who takes the money through the slot. Maybe I can fake an illness and miss this year.

LOVE the idea to do a show on the limited wines on the military base. I too live in a foreign country and cannot find specific wines reviewed on your show.

    Gary,

I recently heard of a winery in New Mexico that makes some great sparkling wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Champagne style. (The winery is Gruet- anybody had it?)

I’m curious about certain areas in the U.S. where unique micro-climates might exist for making great wines in unexpected places. How about a show on wines from obscure location in the U.S.?

By the way, your face after tasting the Michigan State wine was priceless. I’m a long time lurker- and that face alone was worth a comment today.
