    QOTD—– The Yankees are overrated.

Awesome show G … It was great seeing Gretsky and his wines.

Great show Gary, big fan. You might wanna consider buying microphones -for the guests, you’re loud enough ;-)

GV, what a charmed life you live! First this, and then I see you and AJ at the end of ESPN’s draft show commercial. Unbelievable.

I let out a little girl scream when I saw Gretzky – totally exciting.
All the naysayers in the comments don’t know what they’re talking “aboot.” He was totally down to Earth and his heart is in the right place. Belonging on a team makes a huge difference in a child/youth’s development – I believe in the cause 100%.

I don’t know much about baseball, so here’s my QOTD for Wayne – Can you come out to Vancouver and play on MY hockey team? ;)

Great show, what a fantastic guest. I am shocked that you did not discuss Absinthe with Mr. Gretzky due to the fact he is a BIG black liquorice fan. That would have been fun to hear is thoughts and perhaps the next time you get to spend time with him, throw it out there.

Love the show, keep up the great work.

Great show with a GREAT guest!! I’ve not seen those wines in Ohio, but will check them out if I can find them. Wayne – gotta step back from the Opus One and try different things – there are so many excellent wines out there waiting for you to discover!! Ghost Block, Turnbull to name a few.

QOTD – Yankees?? meh. I’m a Tribe fan despite the heartbreak. (especially this past weekend when we scored 14 in one inning)

Great interview!!! WG seems like a great guy and I am glad to hear that his wine is worthy of the name. Keep up the good work. We need to see some behind the scenes of you and The Great One.

WHOA! Amazing show and excellent interview, Gary. I’m glad that The Great One wouldn’t put his mane on shoddy wine. You need to have a behind the scenes video of you and Wayne talking more hockey and sports in general. Seems like a super cool dude.

QOTD: No Way! Wang cant even get his ERA under 30 now. Go Marlins! (I live in FL, what can I say)

    Kristen

Even though I am not a huge hockey fan, I did like this episode. Wayne was a “real” person, not a wine nerd (HA!) which was refreshing.

    QOTD: No.

    Combsy

Great show! Looks like wayne likes to drink the vino more than taste it. ;)

    QOTD: NOOOOOOOOOOO! Dodgers FTW!

Gary, when is Michael Jordan going to be on the show?? http://www.mastersommeliers.org/member=86

    Jokes on you!

i guess there were only a couple complaints upon further review. meh. it happens. dont mean to sound condescening. most of the vayniacs get it.

all you guys posting about wayne being a poser are just being ridiculous. did you watch the show?

    -his grandfather made wine.

-his good friend (gary loves projects with friends) is a wine maker
who recruited wayne, not the other way around.

-he admits straight up to not being an “expert”, but rather a regular drinker.

-he’s helping to promote a lesser known wine region.

-and best of all, hes doing it to help support his charitable foundation.

Many of you vayniacs are too eager to call people sellouts or inauthentic.

maybe you should take a look at yourselves, and realize, your not getting the

vaynerchuk message of acceptance, colaboration and friendship. Very

disapointing, vayniacs. Perhaps, you would enjoy Sir Gary more than GV.

P.S. It’s the friggin Great One.

Really fun show. Thanks GV. Thanks WG. I’ll keep an eye out for the wine.

QOTD: Tigers, with their “yankee-esque” payroll will get it this year.

Just as great off the ice as he was on it. Love it when you get to see the icon who was first and foremost a good person. Thanks for the look behind the curtain GV and I think the debate if finally settled, you will in fact interrupt anyone at anytime. The WLTV nation wouldn’t have it any other way. Peace.

HOLY GRETZKY!! What a great guest, and it’s fantastic to see him be all about signing bottles or doing some sort of promotional play with WL.

QOTD: I don’t think so, but I hope for my Dad’s sake (Yankees fan since birth) that they finish strong.

  24. April 20, 2009

Tough one… Gretz was always a (Winnipeg) Jets killer… have tried the unoaked Chard and the Meritage. As a thirtysomething Canadian boy whose team (Winnipeg Jets, obviously) was consistently smacked down by Gretz and the Oilers, it’s tough – especially now that he’s coaching the team that left Winnipeg for Phoenix.

No, the wines are good, and at least Wayne’s honest about his knowledge of wine. Now, are we gonna get a/our team back here or what?

Never heard of this guy … but he came across as a complete tool. Looked pissed too. And why don’t you use a tripod?
