Just for the record, the Girardin Bourgogne is 7 bucks in shops here in France.

I haven’t had Nautilus in awhile. Sounds very appealing.
QOTD: The Cow Parade in La Jolla. Happening now. (really, the zoo)

Great feel with the live audience. That really gives it a different level of excitement and “wow” factor. Instant feedback on the tastes and flavours was cool to see as well. Good job Gary.

    QOTD: Fires. Sorry… [shrug]

    Gary,

QOTD: I think that ‘San Diego’ is two words.

By the way, the footage from the first moon landing was clearer than Episode #662…

Gary- get those people to shut the F up!!! Way to loud. QOTD: Currently loud wine drinkers. It used to be surfboards.

OK show. The resolution from the camera made it hard to read the label and to see the wines. However, I like the “live” feel of the crowd.

QOTD – Warm, sunny beaches, FIRE, and the Chargers.

Yeah, the crowd was kind of loud but hey what do you expect when youve been drinking for 3 hours before the show??? It was fun even with the shushing. San Diego loves you Gary!

    QOTD – sunshine and surfing.

Tough show with such a Raucous crowd!!! Interesting melange of wine selections, but it looks like Matt couldn’t deliver in round one ;)

    QOTD: Stay Classy…

Hated SHUSHING. It was very hard to follow this show. Too many interuptions with the tipsy crowd. You did your best with what you had to work with.

I came close to not finishing a WLTV for the first time… way too much annoying background noise.
QOTD: The zoo I guess… not really a very appealing city to non Americans.

QOTD – The Chargers and not much else.

QOTD: THE CHARGERS. Can’t beleive you didn’t give some ups to Lance Alworth’s #19 instead of Keyshawn (just give me the damn ball) Johnson. Also, nice appearance on ESPN when the Jets made the Mark Sanchez pick. I was hysterical when I saw you! Suprised you hated the move though – they have no QB and this guy will help them…

There was too much chaos for this epi to be enjoyable… I felt like the content was lacking as well. I couldn’t finish the show.

Great show! Sure, the crowd was noisy but they and you seemed tuned in to each other. Heck, I’ve been to tastings that were noisier!

Too bad about the Fiano di Avellino. Mastroberardino “Radici” is its best white, but really, M’s rep comes from reds. Someone earlier suggested Terredora, and I popped Villa Riano ‘06 to sip while watching the tasting. Fiano never has much to offer on the nose, but this one has deep bitter orange and almonds with a long finish.

QOTD: The talking gum trees on the UCSD campus–eerie–and the beach.

hey hey hey, your job is to taste the wines, not tell me its a screw top. Your prejudicing the next generation against the future of wine.

    qotd; meh, third tear city.

My wife and I would love for you to do a group tasting (like you did in San Diego) in the Providence/Boston. We think it would be a blast to sniffy sniff with THE Vay-ner-chuk.

I really like the concept of the show a lot. And you’re Boston show showed that it’s def attainable.
Like your 500th episode, though, you’ve got to stop with the “shhh”ing. It’s awful. Crowd + alcohol = noise. I’m a musician. I know it’s FRUSTRATING, but the only way is to get everyone there to understand beforehand that your equipment just can’t handle it, and that if they’re not quiet enough then it may be an unusable episode. If you’re fans REALLY get that into their heads beforehand, then they’ll start protecting you by making the “rowdies” feel uncomfortable. It’s really the professional way to do it.
Unlike a musician, though, I actually think you’re show lends itself to treat them like a good comedian treats a heckler. You’re def capable.
I think the background rowdiness is actually cool, but in order to get that you’ll need better equipment/production. Then the crowd can whoop it up, and you can do what you do best: entertain/educate.

    QOTD: Zoooooooo. Weather.

(I still can’t believe you got freakin’ Gretzky!)

    Big Fan,

So… those people chatting through practically the whole taping were kinda hard to deal with, “SHHHHHH” was not enough.
QOTD: the zoo, haven’t been but hopefully soon.
