I enjoyed the episode yesterday more, crowd not as persistently talking, and 50 mintues of the same thing (slowly getting more drunk throng ended up being a bit much). That’s just my $.02.

Don’t drop these, keep them going and experimenting….anyone got a “shhhhhhhh” count between the two shows? I’ll put the over under at 85.

    QOTD: blue razzzzzzzz

Ugh, that was tough to listen to with everyone talking in the background… Second day in a row it was a struggle to get through the show, which is a shame because there has been so much momentum recently! I’m sure you’ll follow this one up with some serious Thunder, you always do!!! Keep you the great work.

QOTD: #1-Pink, #2-Grape, #3-Orange. Agreed that Red is poop. Tastes like Robitussin, which is clearly not as delicious as DIMETAPP.

Fla-Vor-Ice where I grew up. Although certain little league parks had Otter Pops. It’s all about the original Fla-vor-ice green, orange, and purple.
Gary have you ever had a rootbeer float with chocolate icecream?
Float in one hand, orange icy in the other = summertime back in the day.

Fruit bombs but no Oak Monster?
What flavor was YELLOW. The grape was a sugar rush for sure.

Ssssssh. Either too small a room .too many people or too much wine drinking
whatever the case hard to hear you over the din.

QOTD ; never heard of it.

You asked about locations to hit up- Columbus Ohio! But seriously, wherever you go next, PLEASE have a “no talking unless asked a question” policy. The constant “shhh”ing was VERY VERY VERY annoying. People need to be more respectful. They were there for you & to be guests at the taping. Would they have done that if they were at WL in Jersey? The interaction with you was fine, but they couldn’t have been focusing on you when they chit chat the whole time.

    QOTD: Orange

I love Wine Library TV but the background noise …man. This episode was a challenge. I actually turned it off about five minutes in. Can’t do it. See you next time, Gary.

I don’t likes sweets that much but among the sweets my least favorites are chocolate and Ice Pops. Among all the flavors of Ice Pops my least favorite is Grape followed closely by orange and red (it really didn’t taste like cherry). I get angry when I see grape juice, grape candy, grape gum…Once at the dentist’s (I was about 10) they gave me grape flavored floride and I spit it out all over myself.

It’s Fla-Vor-Ice! And I like red. It’s too bad that the wines were lacking. The Merlot blend sounds interesting. The live audience makes it fun. Thanks.

QOTD: I usually ate the lime and gave the rest to the neighbor kid that my brother and I hated. The orange was pretty good, grape tasted like cough medicine.

To everyone posting here…I was in the audience. I was standing right behind Matt and the rest of the crew for both episodes. They did an excellent job of making sure everyone there got a pour of everything. A true accomplishment, in my book, considering the number of people there.

I can verify that most of the crowd (at least everyone that I could see, which was almost everyone) was totally into the show, totally into the wine, and a lot of the background chatter you hear in the video was comprised of folks enjoying the wines, exchanging comments, and of course trying to engage Gary with their thoughts. I think that’s exactly what Gary wanted, and what Gary stands for. Of course, there were a few folks who had a few too many; there were a few “club chick”, gold-digger cougar types who rolled in to the event in packs and bought tickets at the door because it looked like a classy wine event where they could meet their next meal. But for the most part, it wasn’t a bunch of smash-drunk, babbling idiots with no idea what was going on as is being portrayed by some of the folks here. I understand that you love Gary and you love your Wine Library TV, just as I do. But cut everyone some slack.

There was a younger married couple standing next to me who were both holding their wine, disposable cameras, and copies of Gary’s book. They were intently listening to what Gary had to say, exchanging their own opinions, and they must have said “wow, this is so cool” 50 or 60 times. There were folks in the audience who were hitting the flavor profiles on the button; there were others who were trying to figure out exactly what the hell Gary meant by “This wine tastes like Razzles”. Most of the people that were annoying me were on the outer edge to Gary’s left, and they had wandered into the hotel bar that had gone into full swing and weren’t even part of the event (they didn’t have wristbands or wine glasses anyway). I didn’t see anyone stumbling drunk and quite a few people ended up going to dinner afterwards at the same restaurant we did. Unless they sobered up on the five minute walk down Front Street, I don’t think they were wasted.

I enjoyed the show, I enjoyed the crowd interaction, and I fed off of Gary’s energy. I do agree that this isn’t the best format for rebroadcasting on the Web, but I also think that if Gary launched a national tour doing this kind of show, he’d sell them all out.

If this format keeps the wine snobs away, I’m all for it. If you’ve got $99, you can join Parker’s site and get all the bottles of BORING that you can drink.

    Rock on, Gary.

Second my thoughts from yesterday… noise too high in the back might not be as annoying as it’s need to be shushed…
QOTD: it’s the only think i like in this artificial flavor…
…grape (Melt it down you got that purple Drank yo!)

Ha, ok, note to self: next time do show _before_ cocktail hour.

The crowd’s reaction was hilarious, but the white noise was a bit too much to take.

If wine commentary could be distilled to something with a booming base, I think that crowd would dig it!

Tom Brady was a pretty good sub, yeah?

Actually, what you need to do is do an episode next February when you’re back in South Sioux. That is what you need to do. Well, you don’t NEED to exactly, but it would be fun.

QOD: Green (although all we had was Fla-Vor-Ice, which all tasted pretty much the same).
