    GV … Microphone.. Yes.
I’ll pray for Liz and you to have a smooth, peaceful and healthy baby delivery. Hope baby Vay makes an appearance on the show.

The videos have, are and will always rock!

For the question of the day I would say that you don’t need a mic, the sound is good enough.
For the moment of peace and massage, it was pretty nice I enjoyed it!
A suggestion to crush it even more, make your videos available on the dotsub website so that people who don’t understand english can enjoy your advice and get to know you and love you!

    Keep up the good work!

    QOTD: no mic

QOTD: You don’t need a mic when you are in the office. Plus, with all your “energy” you will just keep hitting the mic and that will be annoying…

No Mic, Future fathers should naturally speak loudly

QOTD. Not when you are in the office, the sound comes through loud and very clear. When you are on-site that’s a different story. Maybe a mic would help you in those situations where you tend to shout a bit too much to overcome ambient/crowd noise.

I remember the Esporao and the Villa Maria from the Super Tasting on the TC! Great wines! I’ve known the Esporao Reserva for some time. My local retailer had the 2000 (great in Portugal, not just Douro/Port) and I’ve been enjoying it until recently.

Keep it up on the different varietals! How about Southern Italian whites? Or the long due Jura episode?

No need for the mic, sounds fine to me.

You have been doing classic wine regions and emerging regions, you should do a state by state wine tasting!

I wish I could get some wines from Portugal!!!
QOTD: Not in the office and I have to agree with Chalz, put a mike on Mott!!!!

Another great one. So do I start with Douro or Alentejo? I just saw the free shipping item @ winelibrary. I will be making another purchase!
QOTD: No, did someone tell you that you aren’t loud enough?

QOTD: No. Wireless mikes are inconsistent and flat-sounding. Plus they can interact with cell phones and make really piercing noises. You’re better with the camera or boom mike. For out in the world, either boom mike or wireless, but not in your “home” at the W L T V set.

You reminded me that I haven’t been checking out the forums in a long time. Need to hit that up soon.
qotd: no need in the office, but the mike is critical everywhere else

Great show… Portugal is consistently bringing the thunder.

QOTD: mike not needed in office, but on remotes locations, yes… sometimes it’s hard to hear you… and every word is priceless.

    crush it my friend!

No need for a mic in the office. You might try it on location reviews.

    Great show today!

Nice show. Can’t find enough Portugese wines in my area, so kind of a bummer. I just did the first wine of the month club in May and love it thus far. You should add the Portugese wines in your selections.

Bring back the blind tasting, and loved the days when you just would taste about 6 to 8 wines back to back.

    Take care.

Have you worn the mike in your office doing the taping before? I can’t recall. I would suggest to tape a show when you are using it and then take it off(the mike I mean). That would give us a much better perspective.

Survey says: No to a mike on GV
Yes to a mike on Mott….do it!

That was a great show….Touriga National is one of my favorite varietals when used in still wine, (I’m generally not a port fan) Had some Virginia wine with Touriga National in the blend that rocked my socks off.

    QOTD: NO MIC!

There was an episode a while back where you wore one, which one was that? Anyhow it just kepped getting banged, and breathed, and just sounded annoying.

I guess I will concede that it would be ok for location stuff.

Great show Gary! Feels good to see you talking about Alentejo wines with such passion. One of my favourite regions too and thankfully I’m only 100m away from one of the biggest wineshops in Portugal :)

I will say no mic is needed in the office but you definatly need 1 on site. Good show, thanks bud

So with the third wine today you mentioned that it was tight on the nose, and that leads to a question. When you have wines on the Thunder show how long have they been opened? I would think giving the wine some good time to breath might help open it up.

Also – do you usually decant your young everyday wines in the hope of opening them up more, or do you just decant your mature wines?

    Personally, I decant EVERYTHING!

    Thanks for all the information!

    QOTD No.

Please keep taking us on the world tour of lesser known regions and varietals of interest to you these days, love it. Peace.
