    I’m proud to be Portuguese.
Keep up with the great show and the surrounding concept about wine.
    When do you’ll visit us?

    All the best.

Hi Gary I was wondering if you spoke any other languages than English? I assume you speak Russian with your family background, but do you speak French, Spanish, Italian? One way or the other how does this affect your involvment in the wine industry?

    Gary,
When I was in Portugal locals told me that they mostly drink wines from Alentejo and Estramadura since they are cheaper that the wines from duoro and dao.
I discovered wines from Bairada region. They have floral qualities not unlike Barbaresco. I heard people comparing them to Barolo as well.
Looking forward to drinking more Portuguese wines.
    Keep bringing them!

QOTD: No, because I think a compressor microphone would do better. Set it up under the camera and point it at your face. ‘Nuff said.

Something like this, although it doesn’t need to be this mic exactly: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SM81/

Hey thanks for reading the comment on-air…I was hoping you would pick up on the slight bouquet of sarcasm and the palate-in-cheek flavor…
Thing is, like a well made wine, the Thunder Show just keeps getting better.

I’ll have to do some more research about where to find the Esporao in Vermont (or go out of state)…I usually scour the Portugal sections but have not seen it before…does not come through any of the distributors that I am acquainted with here. The impotradores page at http://www.esporao.com does not seem to be giving up the goods…any way to get to the importer through your distribution contact?

QOTD: no mike in the thunder seat, you project just fine…tell the guests to yell a little to keep up. Definitely consider the wireless mike on location especially with a rowdy crowd lik eyou had a couple of weeks ago.

QOTD: No. Did someone say that you are too quiet? I mean… has anyone ever told you that you are quiet?

How about a blind tasting of Burgundy, mixing in expensive with cheap?

    Wow…do I type much?

QOTD: I think probably not, but have not heard a comparison to better base a decision.

I hyave really enjoyed discovering some of the little know and under-appreciated wine regions of the world. Some really delicous stuff!

No, thanks to you GV !! You are Great and doing your job well.

QOTD: No Mic. I hear you loud and clear.

Thanks for reaching out to us by saying… Thank You.

All the best to you and Liz.(Baby too)
    And Family.

    yes

    Cuse Wino

    No, thanks you Gary V!
QOTD-When you are by yourself and in your office, no mic needed. When you have guest, they should have the microphone if they are quieter than you (which is just about everyone), and if you are on location you should both be wearing one as it will help make your voice stronger over the hustle and bustle of what is around.
and of course the Espora is out of stock :(

QOTD: No mic works fine, keep doin what ya doin

P.S. You’ve been crushing it lately with the shows Gary V, don’t let up!

  17. May 20, 2009

    Scruff

QOTD: only mike up when you are on the road “on location”. In the office, just change Mott’s name to Mike.

I think is time for another breakout show like the expand your palate one, temp effects, cooked wine one, etc… you’re too much in a groove with the last 3 shows. Gotta shake it up a little.
Maybe a show to test bottle shock myths (letting a bottle settle before drinking – i.e. ship one to yourself and compare it against a control one you already have!)

  18. May 20, 2009

    sharon

qotd: You don’t need it in the office. Outside on the street, in restaurants, etc…you definitely need a mike.

BTW you didn’t ask…but if you and Lizzy are overdue with Baby V take Castor oil. It really helps to get the show on the road.

Thanks for all your great service! The story of wine is so interesting.

enjoyed the episode gary – i’ve never had any wine from this region of Portugal. always interesting to learn about new regions.

seriously, why are you remaining silent about all this brett favre nonsense? is it because of how PUMPED you were last year that he became a Jet? He sure CRUSHED IT with you guys…and by “it” I mean your playoff hopes.

all the best, your friendly resident Eagles fan.

QOTD: Mic up on location– such as restaurants, wine bars, and conferences. Anywhere where there is background noise or you are not going to be close to the camera mic.

Fun show. I’m going to check out 330-360 for some nostalgia pleasure.

QOTD: NO you sound freaky great!

Thanks for the info on this region-thanks!

    Gary,

Great to see you on the forefront of the Portuguese wines.
Esporao has been one of our favourite wines for a very long time.
Keep up with the good work and spread the word about the value
and consistence of the great wines of Portugal.

  23. May 20, 2009

    chris

    no mic

  24. May 20, 2009

    M

QOTD: You have to do shows with and without a wireless mike. Then I’ll decide. Obviously I can hear you the way it is.

  25. May 20, 2009

    drew

QOTD: no mic, but use one when you are out in settings where you need it to overcome ambient noise.

    Moment of calm was good.

I think Mott should get a mic!

    Keep up the great work!
