Way to nail the Cab blend Gary. DEFINITELY gonna have to get me a couple bottles of Priorat immediately. Purchasing some as we speak – very impressed.

QOTD: Digging the haircut. I need one myself.

QOTD: Did notice the “do” before you mentioned it. Looks good. Seasonal.

Another fantastic show. Didn’t know the grape-breakdown on Priorat was a high percentage of grenache–which happens to be one of my favorites. I’ll have to pay attention more to these wines. I had the Vall Lach (probably the ‘05) at the Grand Tasting in Oct. and liked it, but thought otherwise about purchasing it because the price sheet said it was 80 bones. In any case, several alternatives to choose from for a lot less as you have proved in yet another excellent blind-tasting show.

To me your greatest strength will always be tasting and breaking down wine, so continue on with it in whatever capacity possible, and make it pay gajillions if you can.

QOTD: You hair is great short– I remember you had some weird hair days back in the early hundreds. Much better short.

First – haven’t said this yet – but best of luck to you and Lizzie during the next few weeks!

Second – wanted to thank you again for the massive amount of content over the years. It has be very enjoyable (most of the time!), especially the great guests, the educational info, the wine vocab lessons, the wine recommendations, the laughs. It will be a sad day when WLTV shuts down.

Third – where have the shout-outs gone? I understand, your email crunch.

    QOTD – Looks good.

Congraz man! another good show. But….
Will Gary ever taste a TENUTA DI TRINORO on WLB??

Great episode Gary. Pretty cool on wine #1. You nailed it. Will seek out this region.

QOTD: Perfectly manicured head. Could double as a putting green. Now that’s an idea. A Garv V mini gold hole.

WLTV might not survive the baby? Wow . . . that is a lot of pressure to put on your kid. You sure you want him or her to go through life as the reason that WLTV ended? I mean, its understandable that later in life you might blame a kid for having to use your camero fund for college, or for your weight gain or hair loss, but for single handedly axing our beloved shows? Ouch. No need to worry though. Its Jersey and your the boss of the V-Nation family. You’re much more likely to find yourself going out saying “Mott, I know it was you Mott. . . you broke my heart”

Thanks for all the knowledge and passion over the years. We’ll take it as long as we can get it.

QOTD: Like that you keep the lettuce tight. Peace.

You really “Smashed It” today Gary !!! Your cabernet call on wine #1 was almost like you had E.S.P…..N. Definitely “Smashed It” !!!

On the topic of WLTV – ‘All good things must come to an end’ although we wish they wouldn’t. That’s why I savor the good times like a fine wine.

QOTD: Grow your hair out to a length about down your beltline, then pull it all back into a ponytail (Steven Seagal-esque). “Smashed It”

PS – I just finished my book on sour mash bourbon called “Smashed It”.

Who picked out the wines? Not a grenache-heavy choice in the bunch, and way to crush the cab. Great show, as always! I love the blind tastings. You prove that you know your stuff (assuming you don’t rig them…which I KNOW you would never, ever do…dude, get serious).

I hope WLTV survives the kid. I would certainly understand if it doesn’t, but that would be truly sad. Family first is the way I run my own life, though, so I wouldn’t expect less from you. Good luck, whichever way your life takes you.

    QOTD: Who cares? It’s hair.

What can you say, awesome show. Thanks for the continued passion on WLTV.

THE HAIR…longer CRUSHES IT! (But you’re a cutie with or without hair).

Really enjoyed this episode…never had a Priorat. Sounds like my kind of wine.

    Hang in there, Daddy!!

I have noticed Priorato wines creeping up in price. Still may favorite wine from Spain (generally speaking).

QOTD: Does your hair length affect your palate? Also, don’t worry about how pretty the label is, it’s what’s in the bottle that counts (metaphor alert!)

I LOVE the blind tastings. And it was great to have the same wine but different vintages in the tasting. Way to go Ian. QOTD: I like it. Got to keep short since the baby is coming. You can’t spend all the time in the mirror every morning like we all know you do. ;-)

I would like to speak about Priorat, about a very little family wine celler.

QOTD: looks good, but it is too long!!! If you are going to beaz it, buzz it down to the skin (without razoring it).

BTW, awesome show. And you nailed the Cab, it WAS wine #1!!!!!!!!!!

    No quiting this amazing show!

I have been with you only a week but been watching archives quite a bit. I think your show would be lovely even if you had much much more marketing in it. Who cares, its a hard world.

I live in Finland and my local Riedel shop salesman suggested your show and said u are totally crazy and hilarious. But I have to say hes a bit crazy too hugging customers and so on. I showed sake-episode to one of my friends and she said u and this salesman are like soulmates. :D

    BIGUP from Finland.

Awesome show! Been watching since near the beginning and know that you keep it real…nice of you to address the few detractors though, shows integrity. Keep on doing what you’re doing!

Love the show. And love the Priorat wines. Though lately tend more to DO Montsant (which geographically is a prolongation of Priorat). As great wines as in Priorat, but not overpriced (at least not yet).
Hope to see some of those in your show.

For the hair – I’m more for the ‘longer’ style :-)
    Cheers,
    A

In anticipation of tomorrow’s show with Maynard, please ask him to send me a signed pic of Milla. Saw her perform Puscifer’s The Mission. (Loved her in Joan of Arc.)

    GV, help me out here….

QOTD: You’re lookin’ good about now (it WAS wine #1).

Hope Friday brings about a return to the laid-back couch.

Hey, my new book, SMUSH IT!, may be coming out this fall. More deets later…

Gary, you’re the best; don’t over-apologize for the positive changes in your life. Growth and change are essential.

To paraphrase Woody Allen in “Annie Hall”: “Life is like a shark; it has to keep moving forward or it dies.”
