great episode – thanks for hosting us on Friday Gary, it was a great time, and good to meet you for the first time.

QOTD: How does it end? It never ends…

I feel the end is near, and that makes me angry.
Most of the French wine is like that for me. Overpriced and MEH. I keep trying but rarely am I impressed. Love the big ass Cali Reds.

QOTD: Gary, looking exactly as his father does now, cries a little and then signs off saying, “You, with a little bit of me, we changed the wine world…(sob)” This all happens in the year 2040.

Gary will go into In Treatment for a a few sessions as a workoholic who maintains that he is ridiculously happy.

Haven’t posted in a while, but still watching… Great epi.

QOTD: Of course it will end… not with a bang, but a whisper.

That was probably the perfect set up to just walk away… please don’t, still lovin’ it.

First comes baby, then 8 more books, three new venture’s and bye, bye GV……..:-(

Great episode. Enjoyed seeing the response to the radish notes, particularly. I’ve been watching since episode 18 (decanting!), and I will admit to having let my viewership lapse in recent months. I’m making a commitment right now to being back for every episode.

QOTD: Not with a whimper, but with a bang. ‘25 Marques de Riscal, ‘41 Inglenook, ‘90 La Tache DRC, and the wine I’ve longed to taste my entire life, the ‘49 Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle. Not sure who the guest will be, but I’d like it to be someone unexpected, incomparable, and as full of energy as Gary.

QOTD: It will end with a new beginning.

Perfect guest to match up with a casual, conversational, Friday and with a couple of big ass glasses. Peace.

    Well done Tim.

Shafer, Elias, Doug, et al, is simply great. Yea, a couple of the Firebreaks were a little mehhh, but others were, surprisingly, pretty up there. Red Shoulders Chard is realy good, and I feel that the outstnding Merlot gets overlooked a little for the spectacular Cabs. RELENTLESS IS F’ING AWESOME.

QotD – ends with a Cavs Championship. This slum needs it.

I have been watching since February 2007 and although I hope WLTV never ends, I assume it won’t continue at the current pace. I think that maybe it won’t totally end, but at some point instead of daily episodes the episodes will be more spread out and sporadic.

QOTD -at episode 1,000 where Wine Library is purchased by the new up and coming Production Giants……. “Vayner Media”

Great show! Fun to see you interact w/ old friends in a laid back environment.

QOTD: Great QOTD btw… It will end when Brett Favre comes out of retirement for the Minnesota Vikings, leads them to a Super Bowl Championship over the New York Jets and GV is so distraught that he goes into seclusion and is only occasionally heard from via his Twitter account where he’s continually asking… “why couldn’t Brett do that for us”?

Nah, but he’ll probably do less and less shows when the baby comes and eventually sometime in the next 6 months will get an offer to host his own business/motivation show. Probably something along the lines of what Donny Deutsch has on CNBC. Interviews with actors, celebs, business titans, entrepreneurs and of course with a little wine thrown in.

Whatever it is, I wish him the best of luck. Also a big thanks for the previous 681 episodes!

Oh….QOTD…..Gary, you told me at the offline in Newark (the one where we gave you the Gary BobbleHead and the day of the Vayniac Cab announcement) that you would never stop doing WLTV!! just sayin….

Best Ep EVER!!!! Sorry I missed you this time Tim!!

btw, don’t remember which episode it was, but early on, Gary’s QOTD was “What would you like to see on an Episode?” Many opinions in the comments sectin (this was Pre-Forum)……my 2 suggestions were: #1 to have Sahsa on…..and #2 to have some of the hardcore Vaynics on…I think I specifically mentioned Brandon M, Kahuna and Tim F. BTW, at that time, we weren’t the old-time Vayniacs!!

And….just so it’s on the record for this Episode…..Tim F was busting MY balls when he said he coined the term “Vayniac”…….it’s me.

Although that BASTID Kahuna has taken over Spreadsheet duties!! :)

End? It doesn’t end like this. Remember, Gary V is a huge sports fan. As a result, he is also nuts about sports statistics. This makes him very aware of the mile-marker stats that are always looming out front.

WLTV makes it to at least 1,000 episodes in order to solidify it for the ages.

    An excellent episode.

It almost seems like the start of goodbye to origins of this series, however.

If so, then I will appreciate the knowledge and information you have passed on.

QOTD – It will end when the cost/benefit ratio is no longer sustainable. As I have mentioned previously, you are evolving into more than just a wine broker/seller.

Your passion is still very much alive, but what you are passionate about is changing.

This is not a bad thing but it may mean the redirection of your energies.

GV – it was great to see you mix it up with the laid back Friday WITH a guest. Tim F seemed to know his wine and he also seemed to know how to busy your chops, which is kind of cool.
I have had the Relentless and really liked it, although it is very expensive. Reminds me of the Lewis Alec’s Blend.

QOTD – GV is going to go with a syndicated weekly wine program on National TV (cable) and there will be no need for WLTV. It will be kind of fun to see GV with an apron on.

Lovin’ the couch and the big ass glasses, you both bring serious thunder!

QOTD: It ends when Gary finally buys the jets.

Natural progression of the pallet… Big comment don’t agree with that. But hey that is what makes us all unique.

Enjoyed this episode with Tim F. who seems very knowledegable about wine. The conversation between the two of you made for a entertaining and informative episode.

i’ve been watching daily since my mom’s/gary’s birthday, episode 578, and believe it or not, this is only the second episode i can remember with the laid back friday couch, so of course i loved it. gary, bring it back every friday!

qotd: sadly i feel like this is going to end pretty soon. the baby is on the way, gary can’t keep up with email anymore, he’s off to conquer the world. all the stars are lining up.

good stuff gary. it’s amazing how many things you can smell and taste in a wine when you don’t feel the pressure to smell and taste the same as the critics. thanks for the inspiration. i smelt balloon in an McLaren Vale shiraz today. i was so excited! hope all goes well with the baby. don’t feel pressure to pump out more episodes, you’ve paid your dues, as you said. and we’re all the wiser for having known you. cheers!
