QOTD: It’s gonna end after 5000 shows. TimF, great guest! I loved the 05 Relentless at a tasting out at Shafer, but for the money, it was tough to pull the trigger…so I bought HSS instead ;)

Wow, possibly the most laid-back Friday yet. It was great to have you both just hanging out over wine- very fun.

(morbid) QOTD: I’ll say the same thing I said yesterday- I hope it doesn’t end for a long, long time. Even if we have to go to just 1-2 shows/week as Gary gets busier with Vaynermedia and family life. But my hopeful answer would be whenever Gary retires, if that ever happens!

  10. May 22, 2009

    Zac Weiss

QOTD: Gary will own the jets, bathe in crystal, and tell us all to fuck off. Major Roederer adverts throughout the show, Cliquot Ponsardin will be a bit-part affiliate, and Krug will owe him big favors. Meanwhile, Ruinart will be begging for his attention. Champagne, caviar, and big-league, that’s when it’ll end. Not after a few years of live shows in the Meadowlands, though ;-) .

Tim F was cool… REALLY relaxed… some of you other guests should be like him…

QOTD: with a wine glass in my hand…?

  12. May 22, 2009

    Dr T in NC

    That was truly laid back!

Well, the Babylon 5 answer to the QOTD would be ‘in fire’, but I’m hoping for a big party instead!

Tim F with the guest visit! I still laugh remembering Tim’s pics and rundown of the Cali trip on the forums about Gary non-stop with the kubuki(sp?) talk in the back of the golf cart.

A nice laid back show,Tim was a good guest.

QOTD: With all my love ones at my bed side.

QOTD: Gary will be hauled on carpet by Jon Stewart on the Daily Show after being a guest on Mad Money flogging his 10th book.

I can’t wait to try the Relentless!

QOTD: How’s what going to end???? If you mean the show, well then hopefully it will be when Gary is about 90 years old and decides to retire.

Does it have to end? Everyone is always so worried about the end, I choose to enjoy the here and now.. Be it life, this show, or anything else.. I’m still trying to figure out a way to convince my wife to get down there to the dirty jerz from CT to visit the store!!!

QOTD : This show can’t ever end, ever … I am sure we can get some Vayniacks to come to NJ and tape some episodes as “substitutes” when Gary can’t make it. I know I would do it (as poor a substitute for Gary as I (or anyone else) would be).

    Don’t stop the music, Gary!

Tim is Great, very complimentary personalities. Tim seems very cool. Episode #1 until now that is incredible. I am from episode #65 to present. I am going to seek out some Relentless after this.

Ya know, when it comes to all time knowledgeable guests on WLTV, for me, it’s a toss up between Tim F and Jancis Robinson. Brilliant and inspiring guest!

  31. May 22, 2009

    Lawrence leichtman

Cool seeing Tim F. Been a long time since I’ve seen that name in the comments. Dude, it will never end if you believe. Maybe like an X-files episode when they were good. I assume you carry the Relentless in the store since Tim went down to get it. Just a note, episode 27 for me.

Fun show. Wow, another original Vayniac and now I can put a face with a name. Unfortunately, it started off with the greatest faux paux of all time. How could he possibly have drunk before the sniffy-sniff? Are you sure he has seen at least one show! Kidding of course.

    QOTD: Happily

    P.S. Giants fan? Pathetic

Tim F is a down-to-earth guy, perfect for laid-back Friday. Liked the wine choices. Will save up for some “relentless”.

QOTD: For me, any ending will be sad. A party might be nice, though..

I dabbled in the forum for a bit…didnt feel the welcome mat…but thats OK..I still think its a great place to learn about wine, and other interesting topics! LOL Oh..and of course…then theres Doc…oh, nevermind. ;)
    Great episode..was sweet <-sorry, Im a girl..
Tims way cool..funny he should be there since ep. 1..and that he says he coined the phrase “Vayniac”…cuz he seems to embody, what a Vayniac should be…just sayn..

    QOTD: It never really ends…

    Have an awesome weekend!!

Yesterday got a good job offer to move from So Cal to Parsippany, NJ. Actually consider a big plus would be being close to Wine Library (never lived east of Indiana). Good choice? bad choice? Answer to the QOTD?

Tim was a great guest. Perfect interplay. This was a great episode…

It would have been funny if Tim had gotten the inside scoop on when the episode would come out and then ninja’d the first post.

nice work tim, you made all of us proud.

  42. May 22, 2009

    ex-lurkdawg

I like that you had Tim on the show.

I think it might end a couple of months after the baby arrives. If not, maybe with an old Gary drinking some ridiculous ‘05 Bordeaux. Now that I mention it, I think Gary should treat himself to a ridiculous older wine on the show once the baby is born.

  43. May 22, 2009

    Marshall

QOTD:My guess is that the show will end when Gary is an old man and stops working in wine biz and is retired and writing his autobiography about being a successfull entrepenuer.

  44. May 22, 2009

    Fasciano

Love the laid back Friday, fantastic dude. Keep these going religiously.

QOTD: Passed out in a pool of vino.

    Great job guys.

  46. May 22, 2009

    Bubbac2u2

Great Show. I agree with Tim F…. Taste first then the sniffy sniff. At the price points it’s a little out of my league. And I do love Syrah. I’m not spitting. Going to try to find the Relentless. I’ll pay the buck. I only wish the Wine Library could ship to Michigan.

Keep it up Gary. But you have a lot going. So CrushIt.

  47. May 22, 2009

    Mr Cook

Good to see laid back friday make a return. Best wishes for baby Vanrenchuk, Lizzy, and yourself of course.

QOTD:When the Jets win the Super Bowl…….so not for a long long time.

  48. May 22, 2009

    Mike D'Ag

Great guest for the couch format. I would have liked another wine or two tasted in this episode, but still an awesome show.

QOTD: I see GV going out in a blaze of glory, like the end of Butch Cassidy . . . guns ablazin’!!

  49. May 22, 2009

    John

    Love laid back Fridays!

QOTD: Gary wakes up in bed with Suzanne Pleshette and says he had the weirdest dream that he was a wine geek with a whole nation of adoring fans.

I’ve been watching since august 2006 so I guess the chance of me being on the thunder show are slim, probably will have to wait until the 900’s .

Nice “laid back” episode. Haven’t tasted any of those wines.

WOTD:(…if referring to WLTV) I don’t know but hope it doesn’t, maybe the frequency will change but I wish it continues for years and years and maybe Gary Vee’s son can one day take over, say around episode 4,500.

Love that show guys…from what little I’ve read on the forums, TimF isn’t what I expected…I actually like him.

    QOTD: Not. Yet.

  57. May 22, 2009

    Saved by the Bell?

A.C. Slater = The A.C. stands for Albert Clifford. Bonus points if you remember that in the College Years A.C. found out that his dad changed their last name from Sanchez to Slater when he entered the military. Super bonus if you can name Slater’s pet chameleon… Artie!

QOTD: It always ends with Saved By the Bell Trivia.

By the way you were describing the second wine, I was expecting higher than 91. Great episode!

    Tim F. has changed!!!!!!!!!

QOTD: Replaced by a handpicked Ian D. w/occaisional appearances by G. WL will not give up the show. GV is a businessman and knows what turns the wheel. You turn off WLTV, you turn off the money machine.

I always enjoy watching someone shake the foundation of the

    Great guy though.
And I have noticed you downing the wine here and there.
    Stick with your system.

Hey did you know you’ve done more shows than simpsons’ episodes?
And, in about a week you’ll eclipse power rangers…

    WoW!!!
That was so good to see a fellow original VAYNIAC (and btw, TimF did suggest the name)
    I. too. have been watching, buying, and attending WL stuff from the get go. Actually, buying before the “Vayniac” establishment. Remember the two of clubs in Chicago?……I bought SOOOO much wine that year! Thank you Gary & Chicago!!
(and Francis S, whom I think might have done a little Acorn ballot stuffing?)
TimF..Great to see you again..how’s the fam? Is Manuel still around? You two (and your beautiful wives) were so enjoyable the night of the Chicago party.
I think we need some sort of “Class Reunion”…you know….Kahuna, BrandonM, TimF, Largeformat,FrancisS et al…I have to admit..my life has had some funky twists and turns here lately, but, in spirit, I have always been on the Thunder Show band wagon! Absolutely one of the best laid back Fridays ever!
PS Except if the palate training episode was on a Friday..that’s the best ever!! Gary, I still gag when I watch you eat that dirt and choke on the peppers…that’s killer!!!
Love you guys and hope to visit with you again.

  82. May 23, 2009

Great show Tim F, sad I missed out, but the goverment wasn’t about to let me take off today.

QOTD: Either Mott will go postal after being told to link something up for the millionth time or GV will be finalizing his deal for those loser Jets of his.

    GV–

I don’t know what to say other than this is now my favorite episode–used to be 403 (Pipes!)–but you can’t beat the rapport and the nostalgia. I swear, it’s almost sad watching these episodes because my life has changed so much in the short time I’ve been watching you. You’re a part of my life and your success and the eventual end of WLTV are both things that I’m happy to see (for different reasons). Can’t wait to see a picture of the kid. REALLY hoping the phone rings in the middle of a taping and we get to witness your reaction.

    All the best,

    Great laid back Friday!

QOTD: keep rocking GV, pls don’t let it end! I know your commitments are higher and much much more now, but I have to say, personally I’ve fully enjoyed your shows and opened me up to new wine horizons…really do hope to learn more!

Btw, what’s with the peace sign? Look like one of those Japanese/Taiwanese ‘girl-ie’ cute-look pose! HAhaha…Peace out, dude!

GV great show. It’s awesome to see a guy as busy as yourself taking the time to hang with a loyal vayniac. I’ve been watching for about 6 months and I’m hooked. I’ve had and enjoyed the Shafer One Point Five and really look forward to seeking out the Relentless.

QOTD: I know you are crazy busy, but I hope you decide to keep pumping out shows, even if it’s not as often. Keep bringing the thunder.

  98. May 23, 2009

    Vanguy

QOTD: Trick question. That WAS the end. That’s why they were laughing. Gery thanked him for watching since episode #1, thanked all the other Vayniacs/viewers and flashed the peace sign. WLTV is done. Baby time! Gary, thanks for all the memories; it was a wild ride.

This is the second time the issue about ending has come up. I have only been watching this show for about 9 months on a regular basis but I have gone to numerous back episodes. I would miss it, there isn’t anything else quite like it. The information given on the show has help me in understanding wine and it is fun.

QOTD: Episode 1000 I hope. It’s such a great number

Really enjoyed TimF! I really enjoy the guests that you have on the show, and your interaction with them, GV! I wish that I could make it up to NJ to sit on that couch with you and drink some wine! Maybe one day, but keep it up!

Thanks guys. very cool laid back Friday show.
WOW a Napa Wine gets a great review…..nice

    QOTD:
It will end with fond memories.
I would like to think that G could get a replacement and keep the show going, kinda like Jay Leno did, but honestly there isn’t anyone that can do what G does.

QOTD: Unplanned…and when you least expect it.

Wow…what a great show. It’s been awhile since I have commented on a show. yet, this was just a great show. It’d be great to see if we can get some more old school fans on with you. The energy between the two of you was really great.

Great episode guys. Tim, good seeing you last night man. Good times.

    Best exchange of the show:

    GV: You get radishes?

    Tim: No.

    Lol. Classic.

Great show I’m glad everyone liked it.
QOTD: when this show reaches tv. It won’t be officially over but to me the great intimacy with the low budget filming will be gone and the show won’t be the same

    TimF is awesome! Fun show.

Gary will probably throw another party at Wine Library to celebrate the end, hopefully later than sooner!

GAry, Tim: Nice show. Great interaction between you two. But as a relative newbie, hearing the nostalgia makes me feel out of the loop.

QOTD: Doesn’t end… Gary spends more time working from home to be with mom and child. Grandma/Granpa bring over the wines and Gary uses flip cam to film shows.

  114. May 23, 2009

    Mark Fitzpatrick

What a great show. Haven’t been there from the very beginning, but watching for almost two years and went back and watched darn near all of the first shows…

BTW – Peeps need to pop in and watch some of the first shows. Cool to see Gary crank it up each week.

“How’s it gonna end?” — what a question. Hopefully one without an answer.

Hey GV, fun episode. It’s cool to see you kickin it with folks that have been with you from the get-go. I’ve missed a lot of episodes lately; I’m trying to get back on the horse!

Been watching the shows for almost 2 years, but have never commented.

My palate started with the big fruit bombs and has definitely gone away from that, but is cycling back a bit to some more fruit (probably from drinking a ton of California in the last 6 months).
Having said that, tried the 2005 Relentless about a month and a half ago after a 2004 Quinto do Vale Meao.

Definitely a big wine. Was a bit too overdone for me: definitely complex and mouth-coating but felt it was like a couple uppercuts rather than a few subtle jabs, which is what I still gravitate towards.

    Highly enjoyable episode

QOTD: Wow, there’s so many possibilities here. I’m guess it’s when Gary’s kid turns 21 and takes his first sip of wine on the Thunder Show — Gary is reduced to blubbering lunacy, completely losing the normal methods of human communication.

  123. May 23, 2009

    Gary: Do you get Radishes?
    Tim: No
    Straight away.
I’ve never seen someone “no” gary like that on a sniffy sniff.

Pretty fun episode, I actually laughed out loud at the QOTD! Also enjoyed watching Gary bust down on the WLTV fuax pas. Good stuff.

QOTD: By necessity due to the number of hours in the day, but that will be the right time for the right reasons. But perhaps a new host could appear……

Have to give love to the long time Vayniacs!! I started watching around 130-140, right before Mott took over for Eric, I have never missed an episode since and will be here right up to the last…I hope that wont be for a very long time :-)

All in all…I really love the episodes with great Vayniacs like Tim.

Very good episode. I liked this format for the laid back friday couch.

QOTD: Nice question too, very open ended. My guess is that once Gary and Lizzie have the Vayner-baby that time constraints with running a business and raising a child will force Gary to cut back his time spent on WLTV. It would be a natural progression of life, but it will be very sad to see him go. :(

QOTD : It will end the 22nd of December 2012, that´s when the Mayan calendar end, so I guess that´s the end for the human race. The 21st I plan to throw a party and drink good and expensive wine waiting for the earth to explode :)

Loving the chemistry and banter, made for an enjoyable show. I’m still laughing about Tim going right for the taste, no smell, no spit. LOL

QOTD: What do I have a crystal ball or something? I’ll go with a Nuggets/Magic final to the aignst of the NBA brass who so much want that coveted LeBron/Kobe match up.

  138. May 23, 2009

    Zino

Very funny when Tim F just went straight into the vino. I have to say that I’ve never noticed radish in a wine and I eat them a lot. I’ll look out for that one. However, I do often notice beetroot in Southern Rhones. Someone once told me that some Rhone producers put beetroot in at the fermentation stage, but I don’t believe that.

QOTD: As you gradually swallow more and more of the wines, you’ll become an alcoholic and it will end with you being dragged off the set. Just kidding.

    Nice laid-back Friday feel.

The guest is calm and composed and disagrees with Gary, which is great!

QOTD: It’s going to end great with the crew having delivered substance and provoking content for a great number of shows. It won’t end just yet though, hopefully!

Great episode. I like the new guy that showed up, he’s like that really good high school buddy that you always stay in touch with. Here’s my question for the day: Is it every sunny in Jersey?!? Seriously, every friday when you can see through the windows in the back, it’s always like a scene from Sleepy Hollow. You need to come to San Luis Obispo (Where its sunny every day!) and do some wine tasting in Paso Robles with me, a little Turley and Justin action!

  145. May 23, 2009

    waynestreet

Great show Gary, Tim F in the house, it doesn’t get any better. I would love to share a glass of Relentless with you both. Thanks for having some old time faves on the show. We need to do a Offline with you and other Vayniacs from chicago. Keep it going and God bless your new arrival. QOTD It will never end since your have truly changed the wine world.

Great show, it was nice for us new Vayniacs to meet the old schoolers.
QOTD: It wont. When the time is right, Gary will pass the baton on to another passionate dude with an amazing palate, and so it will go on and on.

  147. May 23, 2009

I tried the Relentless last spring while visiting Yontville (Took my wife to the French Laundry for her 40th birthday). It was excellent. The Hillside Select was very good as well but at $200 a bottle, a little out of my price range. For my palate, the wines I had at Shaffer blew away the Insignia we had at Joseph Phelps the day before.

QOTD: It doesn’t, it just keeps going and going and going, just like the Energizer bunny. Although, I do expect a BRIEF hiatus when Gary’s baby comes.

  158. May 24, 2009

this is my first comment! I’ve been watching for a while…really started becoming faithful once I started wine school in Florence last fall (I just graduated a week ago woohoo!). Your show has been so helpful with my education and you’re definitely an inspiration to anyone who wants to enter (and change) the wine world. Anyways, just wanted to say that I enjoyed this show, loved to see you hanging with one of the Vayniacs. You guys had great chemistry which really enhanced the whole hanging on the laid-back sofa vibe.

QOTD: there will be no end, only evolution. (when baby Vaynerchuck takes the reins?)

    QOTD:

    How will it end?

My guess is it will end when Garys demand for more family time and biz opportunities overwhelm his schedule. He is the energizer bunny…but even those batteries need recharging or replacing once in awhile.

As someone who you have yet to meet in person but looks forward to that opportunity, best of luck on the soon to be baby V.

GV: You were rocking on this episode!

Tom F is a fracking poser! Hope he’s a great customer. If not, please don’t invite wannabee’s like this again. He doesn’t eat radish’s? He needs to stick to the salad bar and avoid the other parts of the buffets.
He’s swishing face kills me. I need to loop it for my next party. Faker.
He may need to try some tea and expand his palate.

I had to come out of the wood work to comment one the episode with Tim F! Tim, great job man.

Gnarly QOTD: I think the show will taper off, that is, Gary may begin to do fewer and fewer shows per week…and then, eventually, something else in his business life will be too big and the time will be right to end the show. (tear)

good stuff gary. it’s amazing how many things you can smell and taste in a wine when you don’t feel the pressure to smell and taste the same as the critics. thanks for the inspiration. i smelt balloon in an McLaren Vale shiraz today. i was so excited! hope all goes well with the baby. don’t feel pressure to pump out more episodes, you’ve paid your dues, as you said. and we’re all the wiser for having known you. cheers!

i’ve been watching daily since my mom’s/gary’s birthday, episode 578, and believe it or not, this is only the second episode i can remember with the laid back friday couch, so of course i loved it. gary, bring it back every friday!

qotd: sadly i feel like this is going to end pretty soon. the baby is on the way, gary can’t keep up with email anymore, he’s off to conquer the world. all the stars are lining up.

Lovin’ the couch and the big ass glasses, you both bring serious thunder!

QOTD: It ends when Gary finally buys the jets.

GV – it was great to see you mix it up with the laid back Friday WITH a guest. Tim F seemed to know his wine and he also seemed to know how to busy your chops, which is kind of cool.
I have had the Relentless and really liked it, although it is very expensive. Reminds me of the Lewis Alec’s Blend.

QOTD – GV is going to go with a syndicated weekly wine program on National TV (cable) and there will be no need for WLTV. It will be kind of fun to see GV with an apron on.

  178. May 25, 2009

    pawncop

    An excellent episode.

It almost seems like the start of goodbye to origins of this series, however.

If so, then I will appreciate the knowledge and information you have passed on.

QOTD – It will end when the cost/benefit ratio is no longer sustainable. As I have mentioned previously, you are evolving into more than just a wine broker/seller.

Your passion is still very much alive, but what you are passionate about is changing.

This is not a bad thing but it may mean the redirection of your energies.

  179. May 25, 2009

End? It doesn’t end like this. Remember, Gary V is a huge sports fan. As a result, he is also nuts about sports statistics. This makes him very aware of the mile-marker stats that are always looming out front.

WLTV makes it to at least 1,000 episodes in order to solidify it for the ages.

Best Ep EVER!!!! Sorry I missed you this time Tim!!

btw, don’t remember which episode it was, but early on, Gary’s QOTD was “What would you like to see on an Episode?” Many opinions in the comments sectin (this was Pre-Forum)……my 2 suggestions were: #1 to have Sahsa on…..and #2 to have some of the hardcore Vaynics on…I think I specifically mentioned Brandon M, Kahuna and Tim F. BTW, at that time, we weren’t the old-time Vayniacs!!

And….just so it’s on the record for this Episode…..Tim F was busting MY balls when he said he coined the term “Vayniac”…….it’s me.

Although that BASTID Kahuna has taken over Spreadsheet duties!! :)

  182. May 25, 2009

    SS Chris

Oh….QOTD…..Gary, you told me at the offline in Newark (the one where we gave you the Gary BobbleHead and the day of the Vayniac Cab announcement) that you would never stop doing WLTV!! just sayin….

  183. May 25, 2009

    Bryan Hauer

Great show! Fun to see you interact w/ old friends in a laid back environment.

QOTD: Great QOTD btw… It will end when Brett Favre comes out of retirement for the Minnesota Vikings, leads them to a Super Bowl Championship over the New York Jets and GV is so distraught that he goes into seclusion and is only occasionally heard from via his Twitter account where he’s continually asking… “why couldn’t Brett do that for us”?

Nah, but he’ll probably do less and less shows when the baby comes and eventually sometime in the next 6 months will get an offer to host his own business/motivation show. Probably something along the lines of what Donny Deutsch has on CNBC. Interviews with actors, celebs, business titans, entrepreneurs and of course with a little wine thrown in.

Whatever it is, I wish him the best of luck. Also a big thanks for the previous 681 episodes!

I have been watching since February 2007 and although I hope WLTV never ends, I assume it won’t continue at the current pace. I think that maybe it won’t totally end, but at some point instead of daily episodes the episodes will be more spread out and sporadic.

  186. May 25, 2009

Shafer, Elias, Doug, et al, is simply great. Yea, a couple of the Firebreaks were a little mehhh, but others were, surprisingly, pretty up there. Red Shoulders Chard is realy good, and I feel that the outstnding Merlot gets overlooked a little for the spectacular Cabs. RELENTLESS IS F’ING AWESOME.

QotD – ends with a Cavs Championship. This slum needs it.

Great episode. Enjoyed seeing the response to the radish notes, particularly. I’ve been watching since episode 18 (decanting!), and I will admit to having let my viewership lapse in recent months. I’m making a commitment right now to being back for every episode.

QOTD: Not with a whimper, but with a bang. ‘25 Marques de Riscal, ‘41 Inglenook, ‘90 La Tache DRC, and the wine I’ve longed to taste my entire life, the ‘49 Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle. Not sure who the guest will be, but I’d like it to be someone unexpected, incomparable, and as full of energy as Gary.

I feel the end is near, and that makes me angry.
Most of the French wine is like that for me. Overpriced and MEH. I keep trying but rarely am I impressed. Love the big ass Cali Reds.

great episode – thanks for hosting us on Friday Gary, it was a great time, and good to meet you for the first time.

QOTD: How does it end? It never ends…

great show. good to see a member of the vayner nation in the house.
Shafer does some good wine, not just makers of merlot. which leads me…

QOTD: Pinot producers finally conceed that they could not master this tricky grape, tear up the vines, burn their Sideways video and re-plant Merlot.

hey guys great show!!! Tim you rule, I would love to have watched all of them… here is an idea, how about a DVD with the first 700 shows on it, to be given away for free with the purchase of blah blah blah, you know the drill… but seriously, it would be very cool. that way I could watch on long flights to Asia (no internet), etc.

QOTD: It will end when Gary visits Costa Rica again with his son, Robert Anthony Vaynerchuk and Lizzie and realizes that paradise is only 4 hours away from Newark airport…

  202. May 26, 2009

    Roberto

by the way GV in case you are reading this (as I am sure you are), I am committed to watching on computer (itunes sucks for comments) and leaving a comment from now on (a thoughful one) for the rest of the shows you tape, forever. I mean it… I am giving some of the love back that we get every day (FOR FREE)…. join me in doing this vaynernation, AND lurkers…

Nice episode, but for one second at the very beginning I thought Gary had invited a young Robert Parker!! Curiously enough, just recently I met in Vinitaly (I am Spanish myself) another spitting (???) image of the man from Maryland, his name is Mathieu Turbide and works for Le Journal de Montreal…

Cant thank you enough gary and look forward to become more involved with the site and becoming a big time fan. Was cool to see a fan from the beginning being a newer fan myself. G.V. way to reach back to the fan base and give your supporter some play time, especially on the coveted Thunder Couch. It’s a good thing, and shows your love for your people…maybe you could figure out how to do a periodic contest with members of the VaynerNation and bring the winner some spotlight as well.

QOTD: Things do not end, they just change…WLTV will only get better, maybe become its own network…there is much wine education to be done.

  218. May 26, 2009

Great job Tim, except everyone, and I mean everyone, knows that Kahuna came up with the term “Vayniac” and that he also does the spreadsheet. Other than that, you were spot on.

    QOTD- It ends well. Cheers!

Great guest. Gary was OK, too.

QOTD: It ends in a week, when Gary decides he’d rather sleep than film yet another episode of his 268th-most-important life project.

  223. May 26, 2009

    Krayzieb22

AC stands for Albert Clifford. Come on, you gotta know these things. SBTB is like the greatest show of all time. Loved the episode.

    Paryb

That was a super cool episode guys.

Wow Tim F what a QOTD, were you channeling a little bit of “The Truman Show” there?

anyway, “How will it end?” one of the most popular and poignant answers to that question is “with a new beginning” could that mean baby vaynerchuk? EEP! Not yet Gary! Haven’t had enough thunder yet!

  225. May 26, 2009

Along with your guest I say: Cote Roti ROCKS. The one that got me was a 2000 Eric Tessier.

TimF!!! Nice one boys. Good to see you again, even if in virtual space. Gary will be great Dad. It will end when A.J. executes a hostile takeover.

  238. May 26, 2009

    VioletRuby

Love that Chi-town is representin’! Decent laid-back episode, perfect for the couch. The show will never end, it will remain passed down though the Vaynerchuk generations and will continually morph to keep up with technology. At least until I’m too old and decrepit to watch the show. Gary will also make periodic guest appearances even in advanced age.

  239. May 27, 2009

Quite a weird show – it came across like the guest was trying to be a bit of troublemaker.. maybe just trying to stir Gary up a bit? The drinking straight away thing was very weird.

    QOTD – never!

Can’t believe how long it has been since I watched an Episode, and I feel guilty for not watching this when it was first released (sorry Tim).

Loved the relaxed informal aspects, Tim and Gary come across as very comfortable talking together, and he didn’t talk over Tim as he’s done to some guests in the past.

    QOTD – Unexpectedly!

  253. June 1, 2009

    Nice episode!
I’m guilty. I don’t watch that many any more. But when I have a moment, it’s always entertaining! Keep up the good work, fellas… Tim, have a great Monte Bello vertical, too.

Shafer wine is timeless and only gets better with Age! Had the 94 hillside a month ago and it was drinking so insanely balanced! A classic American story of a hard working honest family.

    Great show gary!

That guy was an incredible guest! I have to say, probably one of my favorite guests of all time. They had a great give-and-take. Have that dude on again!

QOTD: It ends when Microsoft merges with GM

Props to Tim F, one of the originals and an All-Time Great Vayniac. Nice show as well – a lot of memories and a lot of laughs. I really like the Shafer Relentless as well. I have 4 bottles of the 2005 in the cellar. I loved the 2001-2003 as well.

QOTD: I’m not sure how, but it will end soon. :-(

  262. June 7, 2009

I too am a long time viewer, finally dowloading the flash player for episode 3. That video Tim did for the contest was really funny (”area idiot”) and there were others as well (backyard tasting?). Good show.

Gary- First time I’ve seen your show and I gotta say…it was AWESOME! Really enjoyed watching your wild and funny rants coupled with Tim’s laidback style…simply an entertaining show. Plan to watch your show on a regular basis for sure.

  267. June 13, 2009

    David R

This is my first post, but I love to watch your shows and have been watching you for a while now. I always get excited about listening to your shows and then finding the wines that you review in California to try for myself. I just watched your show with Mondavi an was excited to get some Sau Blanc from Charles Krug right after. Then I was extremely impressed to find the “Relentless” at a local supermarket in the Sacramento, Ca area so I just had to purchase it and taste it for myself. Thanks for all that bring to your fans on a weekly basis.

  268. June 17, 2009

  269. June 19, 2009

Although for me it was more low batt (minimal actual TN’s) than laid back, as a long-time Vayniac I give you props Gary for having TimF on the show, and thanks to Tim for showing up in our neck of the woods, and for selecting the Shafer.
QOTD: The end is the end when it becomes the beginning. When Charlie places the everlasting gobstopper on Wonka’s desk and in placing his hand over it he says “So shines a good deed in a weary world.”
