sweet departure GV. Hatcher makes a glorious Late Harvest Viognier in Murphys, CA called Quinn The Eskimo. totally worth seeking out but not cheap.

next time in Oakland maybe i’ll check out JC Cellars.

QotD: 1975 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, you might have seen the photo on the forum…

The best desert wine that I have had this year was a Moscati wine. Not sure if I spelled it correctly. Had it at the Olive Garden of all places. BUT I LOVED IT!!!!!! I love MOtt TOO!

    Gary,

    con-tig-u-ous:

    From the Latin contiguum…

    1. Being in actual contact; touching along a boundary or at a point

    b. One of the lower 48

III. Another word Gary can’t pronounce

Odd little show, but still interesting.

QOTD: The best dessert wine I’ve had in 2009 was a 1971 Pedro Ximenez Sherry. It rocked. Mott? He is the most awesome dude on the planet!! I can’t wait until he takes over WLTV! ;-)

Just in case people are seeking this kind of juice out Syncline does the best late harvest viognier I’ve tried here in the Northwest.

QOTD: Jackson Trigg Sparkling Riesling Ice Wine from the Okanagon this weekend at my wedding.

If you go to Lodi, check out the Berghold Late Harvest Viognier. It’s a Sauternes style that is very nice. You probably won’t find the JC Cellars in Lodi, but you can visit the Ripken’s winery to see what else they’ve got cookin’!

Sweet and nitty. Good little show this was. Not sure about Darth Vayner but I just sounded a bit like Yoda.

Mott does a good job, I’m sure without him all the episodes might look like a flip cam hotel show. While that’s fun and good once in a while we all look forward to the good ole wine library shows. Keep it real.

One thing about the way baby’s due dates are calculated is that they go back to the date of the last “period” (yes I said it) and it seems to me that baby’s are usually a little “late” by that method. My guess is that it will be the weekend. Whenever it happens I wish you all the good in my heart and blessings to you and yours. I will be waiting to raise a glass and toast the newest/youngest member of the vayner nation. Awesome!

Loved the show because I am a huge fan of dessert wines. My mother-in-law recently brought a bottle of Raspberry Merlot from Virginia (Fabbioli Cellars). It was delicious, very smooth and not syrupy at all.

I highly encourage you to try this on your show and share with Mott, the BEST videographer in the world. :)

Great episode, although I would have liked to have seen a few Virginia Late Harvest Viognier’s. QOTD: The Fabbioli Cellars Raspberry Merlot. Delicious.

QOTD: In 2009? Probably a Taylor Fladgate 20 Yr.
QPTD II: Mott is very cool.

Interestng episode. Mt Baker Vineyards is actually pretty cool, they’ve been around a while as well, but production is really limited. I’ve rarely seen it outside of their backyard.

QOTD: Well in 2009 I have to say none that is worth remembering, at least none is coming to my mind right now, maybe Bass Tuba from Bava in Piedmont but over all I have to say the 2001 vintage of Chateau D’Yquem… What a balance and complexity

Cool show! I hadn’t heard much about late harvest Viognier, therefore this was a show high on the “edu-meter”. I would love to try the JC Cellars on waffles.

QOTD – Jackson Triggs Ice Wine.

QOTD: Séduction de La Beaugravière Jurançon 2006 and I strongly recommend other wines made from petit manseng.

Great show, can’t wait for Vayner-baby news!
QOTD: 2008 Foris vineyards Muscat Frissante, so clean, balanced and absolutely delicious!
Mott is awesome-r than awesome can possibly be!!!! Love it when he participates in the show. I’m still voting for the Mott cam!

QOTD: Awesome Mott! I don’t drink a lot of dessert wine. Had a Pacific Rim Late Riesling the other day, but didn’t love it that much.

QOTD: Best dessert wine in 09- Chocolate Kiss from Vintner’s Cellar in Royal Oak, MI. Ruby red Port style wine blended with cherries and deep, rich cocoa. Goes great with brownies. Would love to send you some of their wine if interested. http://www.royaloakwinery.com/main.htm

Great show…love to see the dessert wine play. QOTD: Best dessert wines we’ve had in ‘09 are as follows: #1 Castello Sonnino Vin Santo del Chianti 1999 (very cinnamon and caramel like the JC Cellars), #2 Ch. d’Arche Sauternes 2003, and #3 Triebaumer Ruster Ausbruch 2005. We have multiples of each, so it’ll be interesting to watch them develop and mature. After the baby comes, you should get a case of Sauternes from its vintage year and give it as a 21st b-day present. Congrats and best of wishes to you both!
