When you ’set aside’ a wine for 24 hours, do you do anything to it, i.e. recork it, refrig it, decant it? or do you just leave it on the table uncorked?

Nice show Gary. My father and I have much the same disagreements about wine and over wine, especially in regards to new vs. old world, price vs value, politics & business; but nonetheless, it brings us together as food and wine should. Next time, have your father also select the cheeses.

Loved the episode with your father. You are very lucky to have such a great father. I lost my father in 2006, but actually lost him in 1980 when my mother passed away and he remarried and became the father/grandfather in his wife’s family. Only when she died did we get him back, but he passed away not long after. Think it is a great idea to have WLTV in Sasha’s cellar. Happy Father’s Day to both you and Sasha.

what you said about getting to know your dad later in life really resonated with me. my dad and i didn’t always get along when i was younger, but i’m so lucky and grateful to have developed a rapport with him as i’ve gotten older.

qotd: i would love to see that. these episodes with sasha are awesome. and besides i’m interested in getting a cellar of my own started, and would love to hear more about collecting.

Great episode! Fantastic to watch the genuine love between the two of them. My favourite (that’s how we spell it in Australia…) part was Sasha’s reaction when Gary suggests he may like white zinfandel… Priceless!

I’m celebrating my first as well, my daughter Annaliese was born 3 months ago.

And I know what it’s like to work closely with my father too, as we run small customer software company together. It’s a great thing to go to work everyday and love your co-worker (and disagree at times too!!!)
