Children take after their parents, before you wonder how to get your children to change something, see how you can change yourself. You will be a fabulous father, like champagne pouring from the heavens.

QsOTD — I don’t know if Sasha needs a separate show, but I’d like to see him do WLTV on his own sometimes, and the Sept show sounds good.

I think most 2004 Napa/Sonoma Cabs are showing alcohol and hea on the finish right now- they are in an odd stage

Not sure if its the bottle of Saint Cosme, Cotes du Rhone that I just drank or lack of sunshine here in NJ, but I found this episode to be very entertaining. You never know what is going to happen when you bring on Sasha. Hope you can last 30 more years.

It’s quite funny watching Gary and papa Vee eating non stop on the show. Do your wives starve you at home or something? I think papa Vee should start his own show,… maybe a Russian version of the Sopranos. A russian mob who loves wine. haha…A bad ass ganster who never smiles… but a good glass of wine will melt his heart…… or… a secret KGB agent who pretends to be a wine distributor in NJ but fells in love with California Cult wines so he gave up everything he knew and gives all his heart to the American wine community. hahah… i’m having too much fun here… I’m not crazy… just bored and a little too much wine.
QOTD: yes. take us to your celler.

  46. June 20, 2009

    BillC

I love your dad! What a cool guy. He admits that he loves Cali Cabs more than old world wines and doesn’t feel ashamed to say it. My kind of guy.
Have a great first Father’s Day!

QOTD: Of course. We would love to see your wine cellar, Sasha.

Great show as always especially with Sasha in the other chair. I was thinking Sasha could do a show in Brighton Beach to get Russians there to expand their palates and try wine pairings with their unique foods like pork fat known as salo. I am thinking of that Bizarre Foods NYC episode that so needed a Russian native perspective. Also, that wine cellar show you did showcasing a variety of cellars was very memorable. Maybe you could bring that builder back as he seemed tight with Sasha, and was grateful for some of Sasha’s tips in building a fine collection. Happy Fathers Day and Solstice

I have not commented in awhile. Great Friday episode!! Happy Father’s day to both of you!! You guys have a great dynamic and Mr. Vaynerchuk you were spectacular. Love that he finished his wine.

Damn, I hate it when I have to call Sasha a young punk :) Maybe Sasha should incorporate the once weekly wine show into an episode of his new reality show,”Sasha and the hangers-on”. Just think of it. Episode 17: Sasha chases the hawk! :)

    QOTD: The sooner the better!

SF Patrick. What show are you talking about? I’d love to see it.
Great show Dads! Can’t wait to see the Sasha ranch and cellar.
I think we need an Alaska wine cruise. Sasha can drive the big boat and GV can show us how to fish.

Hey that was awesome I’m jealous. However I am really happy to see what I just say. Keep up the good work. I have been in the stuffy fine dinning restaurant biz for years and you have changed my lingo at the table. It is how I always talk is the way you speak. The only difference now is that I feel more confident being me while describing a wine at a table. Thank you. I even tell my guest to give it a little Sniffy Sniff. Peace! Your dad did a great job.

First off, thanks for showing what a healthy and respectful relationship between father and son is. Its truly inspirational.

Secondly, more Everett, more cheese (I don’t even care about the beard, and normally that bugs the heck out of me). The first time I tried triple cream was after the first CheeseLibraryTV and I have not looked back. The thought of having a supermarket grade cheap slice of whateverthatis anymore is insufferable. Life is far too short for sub-standard cheese, which I now know thanks to GV and E2DCheese.

Finally, GV’s father is Dawesome. I have never seen GV so relaxed during an episode, nor seen him drink so much wine. You can just tell by all of the cheeses and meats and wines that they are both having a good time, and the love that flows through, even though some might think it just a form of appreciation for one’s mentor/creator from GV by breaking out these great bottles of wine for his Pop, truly shows some undercurrants of jam and love. ;) I especially enjoyed the sighs Mr. Vaynerchuk gives every time GV says how much the bottles cost; it really punctuates the reality of first generation immigrants, and how they are so biz savvy and penny-wise in regards to matters since they started out at the very, very bottom and pulled themselves up through will, determination, and the quinitsential American spirit that has, does and will make this the greatest country on earth to materialize your dreams of happiness if you have the spirit, heart and chops to follow through.

Cheers to both of you. I really appreciate the time you took out of your busy day to make this video and hopefully enjoy it one day with my son and daughter. Ultimately so that we, with a little bit of you both, can change the entire world together.

    P.S.

Here’s to you Mott. You’re the man with the plan behind the stand. #Crushit playa. #Crushit!

Awesome. Sasha’s a bird-farmer. My dad is also a bird-farmer. He’s a Real Estate Broker, has 3 offices and over 100 agents to manage. He’s a busy busy man. Yet everyday he manages to spend 2 to 3 hours watering and feeding his birds. He has pigeons, chickens, ducks and little quail – and a few rabbits (which are really good if you eat them).

It’s crazy — but he loves it. Through rain, sun and snow he’s does it everyday. We make fun of him (in love of course) but we really have a lot of respect because it’s hard keeping them alive. I’ve had to feed those buggers a few times. The worse part is when it rains. The smell is horrendous. He comes back in the house with feathers in his hair smelling like he just rolled around with the dogs in chicken shit. But it’s cool.

He also has strange Hawk stories. We have pictures were he’s had to catch them by hand ( with gloves of course ) in order to remove them from the pigeon pens. Anyway… it’s delightful to see you guys again loving it up! Happy Father’s Day Gary and Sasha.

Gary, I’ve been a long time viewer, but this was the best episode I’ve seen to date. I almost fell off my chair watching you and your dad! You’re both an inspiration, and I love the fact that your dad just calls the wines as he sees them. Please, please get hime on the show more often…and in response to QOTD…definitely do a show from his wine cellar…..although we’ll probably all get jealous of the collection! Cheers,

  71. June 20, 2009

    Chuck Kozlik

Gary – - You two should take this show on the road! :) Your Dad is a comedic genius and truly made this a special episode. I think there’s a part of all of us that wish our relationship with our own father could be as special as the relationship you clearly have with yours.

The ups and downs of this episode – - the hilarity (Sasha’s ‘ribbing’ of you), the horror (hinting that you may discontinue wine library tv) – - Keep on Keepin’ on, Gary – - and definitely invite your Dad back for some more episodes! This was a truly special one.

QOTD – A show from your father’s wine cellar would be awesome – - we’d be able to see the largest collection of $9 Portugese wine this side of the Atlantic!

    Loved the show!

I would love to see Sasha do a monthly value corner on wines.
It could be based on the wines he actually drank at home and wanted to share with us. Or the Monthly “Sasha & Mott from the Basement”.

Great show, but guys the food was killing me.
I got up at 6am , watched the show at 7am, and was going for a bottle of wine and cheese to eat along with you, I’m gonna have one hell of a Saturday.

Papa V,take the fishing trip with your son! None of us are promised extra time here. My mother and father very much desired to visit Alaska and cancer took Mom before they ever got to enjoy the experience. She told me before she died to take advantage of today. I’m not great at it, but I am trying. To quote John Lennon, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” Just do it! Then do a wine and fish vid.
QOD: I think a cellar episode would be great.
Happy Father’s Day to both of you and the Vayniac dads!

  83. June 20, 2009

    Mr Cook

You guys hit it out of the park. The love, respect, and admiration the two of you have for each other oozes out of the camera. Anytime a 36+ min show goes by in like 10, it is a classic.

QOTD: Sasha should absolutely do a show once in a while. I have a feeling he might dump a few “secrets” on our beloved GV.

    Happy fathers day to all.

Episode #364 the Wine Cellar Show was a classic…Do it again in Sasha’s cellar and bring along the builder.

I loved this episode. I’d also love to see an episode in your cellar. I will second the commenters who have asked for more cheese episodes. While I’m requesting content, I’d also like to see more beer episodes (even more than the cheese). Finally, I’d really like to see a Madeira episode with a vintage Madeira at the end, preferably something nice and old. Gary, do you have any idea how long I’ve been asking and what a glaring omission from the world of wine it is to neglect a category such as Madeira? I think you do. Are you ignoring me because I don’t comment on every episode anymore? (just kidding) Thank you all, Sasha, Chris, and Gary.

What a great show…the chemistry between the two of you is addicting. It’s clear to see that Gary is getting busier every day, but it’s nice to know that this will continue for the long term. Even if it becomes a once a week video later down the road. I think we all understand that there is a draw to spend as much time with your family as possible, especially with a new baby added to the picture. I truly hope that you don’t miss a thing with her.

QOTD: I think it would be great fun to see a show taped in Sash’s cellar…as long as he’s part of the show too!

7:27 just a Master Card moment…watched 5-6 times that minute

Most DEF on the show in Sasha’s cellar, backyard, in the car, wherever…

** It cracks me up how BADLY Sasha wanted to ask a political question. Then when he couldn’t, he struggled big time to come up with something.

    Happy Father’s Day

Great episode. What a great way to celebrate Fathers Day with your father. It’s amazing to see no matter how close a son is to his father, it impossible to go more than ten minutes without a minor difference of opinion.

I think your Dad’s idea of doing some shows is an excellent one. I am selfishly afraid that you will end up giving up the show and if letting your Dad do one or even two a week would keep you going, then go for it.

I love your show and really like the special family shows.

Happy Father’s Day Gary and Sasha! Sometimes the wine (or cheese) takes a back seat to the story that is family. Hawks and quails and Amarone from a friend. Fishing trips. One of my favorite old photos was of Charlie (my dad) showing me how to fish on a dock one summer. My glass of Arbois Savagnin and Comte cheese last night could have used a loved one with which to share the moment.
QOTD Cellar show at Sasha’s with a cute intro of chickens/quails would be good. A show from The Fishing Weekend would be priceless.

    Great Show!
Sasha you are so funny and Loving. You have to come on next years Thunder Cruse.
    Gary you just RULE!

    AprilTwoCats

I want to thank Sasha for flushing Gary out on the issue of whether he is going to continue the show. I really would miss the show. I love how they each call the other out. Sasha is adorable, although I can understand why dinner takes 8 hours at his house. Sasha, go fishing!!!!!!!!!

QOTD: Mott and Sasha together??? Anywhere, especially Sasha’s cellar. What a combination, although I’m not sure if Chris would get a word in edgewise if politics enters the picture.

PS: What’s up with the squeaky chairs at the tasting table?

  95. June 20, 2009

    monden

Love every single show your dad is on!

QOTD: Bring it on…..the Sasha episode

  103. June 20, 2009

    Xnegd

Great Episode! I’ve never laughed so much, truly great. I wouldn’t want ones like this too much, because I really like when you “nerd it up;” however, it was really wonderful to have once in a while. Plus, it made me wanna call my dad.

To answer the question: “Yes,” do the show in his cellar in September, but only if he goes fishing with you for the weekend.

  104. June 20, 2009

    Couves

Sasha, thanks for showing us the bottle from Portugal (you obviously take care of your fans just as well as Gary does!) – Palmela is known for its wines from the castelao grape (the “Periquita” grape) which is supposed to be capable of making wines that can age to a Cab-like maturity.

Wow, 25-30 years for WLTV – And I thought I was being ambitious in predicting 21 years!

    QOTD: Yes, sounds great!

  105. June 20, 2009

    paryb

Great show Vaynerboys! Gary, I’m pretty sure Sasha is the only dude on the planet who can keep one step ahead of you! Happy Father’s Day to you both!

QOTD1: More Sasha? Hell yeah! We’ll have a bunch of little old lady Vaniacs!

QOTD2: Mott, Sasha and GV on location?! No brainer, but why wait till September?

  106. June 20, 2009

    Bill H

First of all Gary congratulations on your first Father’s Day. This is quite possibly the best episode of WLTV in a long time, had a little bit of everything – Sasha, cheese, education, good wines, big ass glass. I’m glad you aired this episode this week, because it makes me want to eat cheese and drink wine with my Dad so a Boston to Jersey trip (I grew up in South Brunswick, came to Boston for school, just graduated from BC, and moved up here for good) may be in order for Sunday partly because of this episode

here’s an idea, how about an amarone brown paper bag episode with Sasha, you each bring one and Ian picks two more

qotd – absolutely, try and get the hawk to make an appearance

  107. June 20, 2009

    @AndrewSansone

That was a true pleasure to watch. Having lost my dad when I was only five years old, I can only live through others who are fortunate to be with their dads later in life. Thank you for sharing, Sasha and Gary. Happy Fathers Day. Since my dad is watching WLTV from up above, I love you Andrew P. Sansone.

  108. June 20, 2009

    Dick M

    Happy Father’s Day Sasha!

QOTD: We’d love to see a Sasha Cellar WLTV!!!!!!!!!!

  109. June 20, 2009

    Kell Brigan

    HAWKS BEWARE!!!

What a joy. [Except, now I want to drop $100 on the Haut Brion. I love a good glass of dirt.] It occurred to me that all those wines were being enjoyed in the best of all possible circumstances — loving people, a good nosh, some great laughs, a sensitive palate, and an appreciation of the subtleties and hard work that went into making them. That’s gotta be wine heaven.

Dedushka Sasha, when you’re “too busy” is EXACTLY the time you need to go fishing!

Maybe you could give Bobby first and third Saturdays off? Just a thought.

QOTD: Yes, definitely!!! I’m working with a beloved, but tiny chiller in my living room, and don’t (yet) know any serious collectors. I’d love the chance to visit with you guys, and also to see a home cellar. (Some B roll of the farm would be fun, too. I’ll turn my Aerogardens toward the laptop so they can watch, too.)

Happy Papa Day guys. God love ya (and a shout out to the rest of the family that lives with you roller coasters!)

  110. June 20, 2009

    Crimson

    Hey Gary,

Since I just turned 21 a few days ago (June 16th) I finally thought I’d comment, instead of lurking like I have been for probably 300+ episodes. I wanted to give a shout out to my dad, being that it’s Father’s Day, who died earlier this year (February) and hope that your viewers and everyone takes advantage to get to know their dad and spend as much time with them as they can. Share the love.

QOTD: I think it needs to stay as the Duo, or the show’d get off track, not that that’s such a bad thing lol

P.S. Any chance of doing a sweet/low alcohol wine show, that may come in half bottles, that won’t break a CKC’s bank? Thanks and keep the shows coming.

  111. June 20, 2009

    Cesar

I love the relationship you have with your dad. You can see that the two have fun together and that is very very good. happy day!

    Happy Fathers Day!

That was fun. I would like to see that chicken/pigeon coop. And yes, I would fully support a Sasha wine show.

QOTD: of course, I would love to see your cellar!

  118. June 20, 2009

Gary still love the interplay between you and your dad. Sasha I appreciate that you refuse to waste any of the wine that’s been poured when it’s that good. :-)

Great hawk story, haven’t laughed so hard in a while.

QOTD: More of Sasha would be a good thing with as entertaining as you are, go fishing with Gary.
QOTD2: Yes would be interesting to see.

  119. June 20, 2009

    Kwana

That was so much fun! Thanks to you and Sasha for a great time. Happy Father’s day! Oh and I’m coming out to say I’m all fruity and cheap, well, frugal just like Sasha. I’ll probably be drinking a white zin tonight. LOL. Don’t hate Gary, I’m trying to grow up.

  120. June 20, 2009

    Beverly

Hey Gary, Happy Father’s Day for Miss Misha! Sasha Rocks! I always love when he’s on! I love to see grown men (and women) say they love their parents…or anyone!

Great show! Hope Lizzie’s doing well!

  121. June 20, 2009

    Phredd

Great episode. Very fun to watch the interaction between you and your Dad. You are both characters, and obviously can have some great times together. You need to go fishing or something, right Sasha?

QOTD: Absolutely we should have a show from Sasha’s cellar with Mott. Gary is optional. ;-)

  122. June 20, 2009

    terroirist

That was classic when you handed the spit bucket over to you father and he said “Not a chance..” Great episode. Great Chemistry between the two of you. Happy Fathers Day…

Question of the day – I would love to see your cellar. Also You (Sasha) should tape a show at least once a month.

    aka Mike in Nebraska

    Eric Godfrey

GV…What a tremendous Father’s Day episode! I havent seen your dad in forever (aside from on the show, of course), but he hasn’t aged A DAY! Happy FIRST Father’s Day to you and of course to Sasha…the new Grandpa! As for the wines, I have had the pleasure of trying the Salvestrin recently…I beleieve it was an ‘03 vintage. Perhaps a bit more balanced than the ‘04 that you tasted…If you can get your hands on the ‘03 please do so, and let me know what you think. After your rave review, I will be sure that the Clark-Claudon makes its way onto my “to-do list”, as I’m not too familiar with their wines at all. Hoping everything is well with little Misha and many blessings to you on a GREAT father’s day, my friend!

  124. June 20, 2009

    Toby (DK)

WOW – amazing show, with a high level of improv humor – great!!

    QOTD: YES!

I would also love see a show where You, Gary, show the vayniacs what you are keeping for your future self – What, why and how are you collecting?

P.S. – I hope with all my being that you will commit ;-)

  125. June 20, 2009

I like the Gary and Sasha shows. So where are you going fishing? Happy Father’s Day to all Dads and first time ones like GV and my son David who also made me a first time Grandpa.

Great show! Happy Father’s Day to you both and especially to Gary on your 1st!!! In 20 years you should pop another M.H.B. 2004 with Misha and compare notes. QOTD Most def.

  129. June 20, 2009

    Bobbie Smith

QOTD: Absolutely! That means we get to see more of Sasha, right? I really enjoyed this episode. Thanks for the laughs and the reminder to be thankful for my dad and my great uncle (who’s like a grandpa to me). Happy Father’s Day to both of you!

  130. June 20, 2009

    Murso

    Men,

SPACIBO!!! And a very Happy Father’s day to both of you!

Alianca has been in our (Ohio) market for many years, carried by the ditributor for whom I’d worked through the mid 1990’s. Palmela is very nice, and easy, with plummy, Earthy flavors that I love with Sardines, and a piece of cheese. They have a broad spectrum of every day wines from the Dao, Bairrada, and other regons. Casal Mendes Vinho Verde is fresh and spritzy melon, and the proprietarily named Alabastro is downright great – at around twelve ‘bones’!

QotD – Absolutely!! Thanks, again, best wishes to you both.

  131. June 20, 2009

    RJurman

Gotta love “The Sasha Show” concept. Great episode and like so many others have said, you guys have a great chemistry and these are so funny to watch.

Happy Father’s Day to both of you!!! Great to see Sasha on the show! Really appreciate the dynamic and insight between the two of you.
This got me thinking, it would be really cool to hear about Sasha’s first experiences with wine, if he remembers some of the first wines he ever tried? first impressions?
    Great show guys!

Love Sasha on the show, he’s so much fun.

I need a cheese collection package from Wine Library do you guys mail order a collection of cheeses we can mix and match and try with wines? That would be fun!

  135. June 20, 2009

    SayHiJames

WOW, tremendous episode…. Sasha makes everything a little better.

He makes me love my own father so much more!

QOTD: Would love to see the cellar, and the special Sasha/Misha combo episode of WLTV!

  136. June 20, 2009

Happy Dads Day to both of you.

So love Sasha’s face when G *wastes* the wine and is preference to swallow. A big F-You to the wine snobs out there.

G, how about having your Dad do a QPR episode every now and then. He obviously loves a good deal and certaily has a trained enough palate. Just a thought.

Again, congrats to both of your on your first Pops today together as a new Dad/Grandfather.

I’m with your dad on this one Gary, people should not be afraid to have discussions about ANYTHING! How else will we find common ground and learn to empathize if everyone is too afraid to talk to each other about what matters most to them?

Happy fathers’ day to all fathers!

    Great fathers’ day special!

A good reminder why WLTV is one of the best tv shows online. There is so much love between you two that it makes me wanna cry…and laugh.

QOTD: I’d love Sasha to have his own show, or a segment on WLTV (that way he wouldn’t have to commit…) I’d also love to see a show from his cellar!

    LOVE!

I found the 2004 Clark Claudon Cabernet Sauvignon 750ML at http://www.wallywine.com/p-32044-2004-clark-claudon-cabernet-sauvignon-750ml.aspx?affiliateid=10098 but not for $50 you (Gary) mentioned, but rather $75, ouch.

QOTD: 25-40 years of Wine Library TV would make me a very happy man.
I love Sasha, your dad is phenomenal. Yes he should start his own show, even once a week would be brilliant.

My dad left when I was 3, I want your dad to adopt me ^_^

    W. Miree

This was my favorite show of all time! What a great father-son relationship! Great give and take, but completely obvious love underlying it all. I loved your father’s inclination to not technically evaluate the wine, but to simply say, “I really like this wine….just because it gives me pleasure. I want you to taste it because I think it will give you pleasure.” This is my impression of most of the wine reviewers prior to Parker. “Why it is good” is not nearly as important as “is it good.”

I look forward to seeing your father do his own show from time to time, and if you behave yourself, you may end up as a guest on his show.

Much love to you both on Fathers Day.

  145. June 20, 2009

    The Lurk Monster

Having watched every single episode of this show I find one thing missing:

Where the heck has “Sir” Gary Vaynerchuk been in the last buhzallion episodes???

    I DEMAND an appearance.

    oscar falcon lara

    Sasha on The Show!

I say you should include more food in future shows, it’s fun to imagine and see all the yummy stuff you get to try with the wines.

QOTD1: Sasha should definitely start his own show.

QOTD2: For sure, Sasha’s cellar sounds amazing.

I like how you both get along. Great.

Excellent show Sasha. We would love to see you do a show of your own or some episodes of WLTV on your own here or there.

Gary, you did ok too ;)

Always love the shows you guys do together.

Happy Fathers Day to both of you!
QOTD: Yes (to both questions of the day).

What I want to know is, what was the political question that Sasha was clearly dying to ask us? I’m so sick of political correctness. What’s wrong with having an opinion?

Great episode! Fantastic to watch the genuine love between the two of them. My favourite (that’s how we spell it in Australia…) part was Sasha’s reaction when Gary suggests he may like white zinfandel… Priceless!

  159. June 21, 2009

what you said about getting to know your dad later in life really resonated with me. my dad and i didn’t always get along when i was younger, but i’m so lucky and grateful to have developed a rapport with him as i’ve gotten older.

qotd: i would love to see that. these episodes with sasha are awesome. and besides i’m interested in getting a cellar of my own started, and would love to hear more about collecting.

great show-definite “yes” to cellar episode-perhaps do a blind tasting with Sasha saying how much he felt each wine was worth-now that would be interesting-best wishes to you all

  163. June 21, 2009

    Susan B

Loved the episode with your father. You are very lucky to have such a great father. I lost my father in 2006, but actually lost him in 1980 when my mother passed away and he remarried and became the father/grandfather in his wife’s family. Only when she died did we get him back, but he passed away not long after. Think it is a great idea to have WLTV in Sasha’s cellar. Happy Father’s Day to both you and Sasha.

  164. June 21, 2009

    TommyB

QOTD: Definitely do a show in Sasha’s cellar in Sep Chris!! Gary, my Dad’s in France at the moment looking for wine for my birthday but I’m going to call him later and tell him that I love him. I think I have a new wine library tv favourite moment: when you try to empty Sasha’s glass! Classic!! Tom, Plymouth UK.

Nice show Gary. My father and I have much the same disagreements about wine and over wine, especially in regards to new vs. old world, price vs value, politics & business; but nonetheless, it brings us together as food and wine should. Next time, have your father also select the cheeses.

    Happy Father’s Day.

When you ’set aside’ a wine for 24 hours, do you do anything to it, i.e. recork it, refrig it, decant it? or do you just leave it on the table uncorked?

    thx for answering…

Watching this episode, I think that an uncensored Vaynerchuk reality-TV show is on the horizon. No offense intended, but don’t let the old man get final cut: he’s liable to edit out the best parts and prevent his super-stardom.

    Health and long life Vayner-nation!

  179. June 21, 2009

QOTD: I would absolutely love to see an episode from Sasha’s cellar!

Great episode. I love it when Gary has his dad on the show. I had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend with my Dad, and had the good fortune of sharing one of the best meals of I can remember having at home with my parents this weekend. I wonder if Gary secretly hopes for his kid(s) to join the business and cause trouble?

Another great episode with you two.

  181. June 21, 2009

    Dominus

Unbelievable. That was absolutely hilarious and fun to watch. I was smiling ear to ear for the entire episode listening to you two guys ranting about your every day lives, your dreams and your future. So are you leaving G-Man? Oh the dagger! I just wish I could pound the wine and eat like Sasha.

QOTD: By all means, I want to see his cellar with all three of you.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all the Dad’s in Vayniac Land. Unfortunately, mine has passed though I’ll raise a glass to him.

    Cheers!

How many times did Sasha roll his eyes??!!

Great Show always love it when Sasha is on. happy Fathers day to everyone

    QTOD: Hell Yeah

Yes Sasha, by all means do the taping, provided you show us your chicken coop too. Maybe we will see the hawks fly by!
    Smell it first. TR

The dynamics between the two of you are a trip.

Would love to see the cellar!

    Gary – Loved the episode.

    QOTD – Hells yea!

  187. June 21, 2009

    Riddler

Great job on Late Night, Gary! It’s good to see you preaching the room-temperature gospel to a national audience.

QOTD: I would LOVE a peek at Sasha’s cellar. An episode shot there would be a real treat!

  188. June 21, 2009

    manonthemoon

Always a great show when Sasha makes an appearance, its always great the way he busts your balls. Plus it is about time for another beard-driven cheese episode, GV.

QOTD: Yes and Yes, the more Sasha the better.

  189. June 21, 2009

    MattieJ

QotD: Would love to see your cellar, but, I’d really love to see an epi in your chicken coop while you wrestle a hawk :-)

  190. June 21, 2009

    Big D

Great episode for Father’s Day! You obviously have a terrific relationship with your father. You are very lucky.

QOTD: I would love to see your Dad’s cellar. I wonder what kind of wines he might have there.

  191. June 21, 2009

    Drew

Awesome show! Always love seeing Sasha. It really hit me today just how much this “little” show means to me. It brings joy to my soul each and every day.
Don’t ever forget what made you into who you are and that’s a lot of Sasha and a little bit of Wine Library T.V. I ‘m holding you accountable to those 20-30 years Gary! We all are out here. The wine evolution never stops and it starts with a little bit of commitment and loyalty.
QOD: Excellent idea, please do the show!

  192. June 21, 2009

    Drew

Oh, one more thing. Mott, please edit in the chicken hawk from Fog Horn Leghorn when Sasha talks about how big the hawk was! That would be classic!!!!

  193. June 21, 2009

    Andrew D

    Thanks Vaynerchucks

Enjoyed the show and the banter. I also like Sasha’s observation about the Amarone. I think Bordeaux is often way overpriced (especially here in Asia) and despite often brining high quality it does not often bring value.

    QOTD: of course!

    Cheers
    Andrew

well….that was touching. and i do not even care about father’s day. thanks for sharing that time with us.

I love this episode! Your Pops is fantastic. Especially loved when you held up the spit bucket and he said “not a chance at $35.” Happy 1st Father’s Day to you GV.

  196. June 21, 2009

    Kate the Great

Happy first Father’s Day Gary! What a great show! I almost panicked when I thought you might stop the show, which made me realize how much I love it.

I do have one critique and that’s that I think you should retire “sour cherries” from your descriptions. You use it too much!

    QOTD: YES!

  197. June 21, 2009

    bob c

great episode….love your dad, i think a show a week from your dad would be great, especially since it would apparently include some very value priced wines…happy fathers day to both of you….I’m not quite Sasha’s age, but my dad passed almost 25 years ago…Gary,, enjoy every day you have with him.. and Sasha…join him for that fishing trip….and the other comment you made in the show, it’s true, I have tried MANY new wines from watching the show….always grateful for that..

Your dad outshines you. How nice. Happy Father’s day to all. My 5 kids and 6 grandkids gave me a BBQ and I bought the zin!

QOTD: Gary’s Dad – we can call it “winelibraryDAD”. Once a week, review a couple wines and Gary’s week of shows. I like food with each time he is on. It makes it more approachable.

Skip the fishin’ trip. Buy him a fish dinner.

  200. June 21, 2009

This was one of the greatest WLTV episodes ever. Thank you Sasha and Gary. Loved it. QOTD – yes.

Gary, Congrats on your first Fathers Day episode. Great to see a such a great father/son duo. I do not know my father so its great to see that connection. By far one of the best episodes. Thanks

Unbelieveable Show!!! Out of all the web shows…WineLibrary Tv I can not live without. And its the only one that I starred and bookmarked as my favourite to check on a daily basis. I prefer to watch it online than through download on iTunes (personal pref).

The entire episode I had a smile on my face on just how open it was and the raw editing when your dad left…really…it was like sitting with you guys at the table and just enjoying a great conversation.

    Thank you Sasha and Gary!

    QOTD: DEFINITELY YES!!!!!

great episode. good wine and a wonderful relationship between you and your dad. wanted to know the full report on la mission haut brion. do you wish you had kept it a bit longer before opening? Do you have any older vintages that would be suitable for drinking now and might also be found at sub-05 prices?
    QOTD – of course!

I think this was my favorite episode of all time. Great chemistry between you two. Should be a monthly show! Sasha, get out of the store and go fishing. It will run itself for one weekend. Don’t worry about somebody stealing a bag of peanuts from the register.

  209. June 22, 2009

    Pizza Vino Joe

    Sasha,

It was a pleasure to have met you when we did the non pizza “pizza” episode. You were a tough act to follow as my show aired shortly after your last appearance.

I think it would be a great show to do some heavy hitter Amarones with your dad on as the expert judge.

Great show Sasha. I liked your guest, GV, he was interesting. You should consider having him come on as a regular guest, maybe once a month or so to talk politics. Peace.

Can’t believe how mucb pop eats in this episode! Great show.

  215. June 22, 2009

    Carlitos

QOTD. Absolutely positively YES! That’d be fun!

That got a bit awkward at times. Reminded me of some “blame” conversations with the Ukrainian in-laws. It must be the way get communicated over in the East. If you’re not used to it it can be quite uncomfortable.

Good think that you really love each other and will not even consider these as issues.

  216. June 22, 2009

    Jay Campbell

Those food plates always look so effing good.

  217. June 22, 2009

    BurroBoy

Great to see Grandpa Sasha on the show again, and loved the fact that he came through with the name of the Alianca that he mentioned enjoying the last time he was on. That is some serious dedication.
Sasha please go fishing with your son and have a great time. Maybe you can do a show for Gary now and again, to babysit the Vaynernation while Gary gets to spend some time with Lizzie and Misha? That way you do not have to commit to a show of your own, but you get to shake things up., and feel the love of the fans.
Took my dad to the annual Stowe Wine and Food Classic at the Trapp Family Lodge up in Stowe, VT…his first time at something like that. We tasted a bunch of great stuff, most of it way out of his price/comfort range…he was blown over by the Emilio Moro “Malleolus de Valderramiro” 2005 Ribera del Duero at $200 but will get a lot of mileage out of telling the story.

  218. June 22, 2009

    TommyB

Hi again Gary and Sasha; yes, the show has made people go out and try different kinds of wine (myself included) and yes – again – you HAVE to do a show in Sasha’s cellar! that would be the best! I’m also so glad you said you would try to continue the show for so long, if it’s still going in 30 years time, I’ll be watching.

  219. June 22, 2009

    PrimoVino

GV- Your father is a sweet man and very genuine… good on you for appreciating him, it shows.

I really enjoyed this show, it was a little longer, you had some seemigly mouth-watering cheeses and meats, and you both cursed. Actually, you cursed first and then called your dad out for it. Well played.

QOTD: I think you (Sasha) should guest host Gary’s show regularly.

  220. June 22, 2009

    zonk

    Fathers are important

I miss my Dad, he passed away in 2001 after a long struggle with cancer.

    QOTD:
Sash if you want to do your own show every couple of weeks or whenever you want to go for it… there are no rules! Plus Gary seems to be trending towards the more expensive wines lately… and your question of the day could be about any subject you wanted, even if it was politics HA HA HA

    JasonA

Good show. LOve seeing your dad on there Gary. And happy 1st fathers day to you.

QOTD: I would love to see an episode at Sasha’s cellar with Gary, and maybe AJ there as well. A whole family event.

    Mauricio Fernandes

    Hi Sasha, hi Gary!

AWESOME show! Every time Sasha is on, the show is fantastic.

Definitely Sasha could commit to doing a weekly show: “Wednesdays with Dad”, “Fridays Couch w/ Dad” or “Sasha’s Wines of the Week”. The Vaynernation will love! Sasha, you could bring to the show the wine or wines you’ve been drinking and drop some of your knowledge to us on life and wines. At the same time giving Gary a day off.

I agree with Sasha on that Amarone, even not having that one yet.
Amarone wines have always been spectacular wines to me.
    Always bringing the Thunder!

QOTD: Taping a show on your cellar would be fantastic Sasha. Can’t wait!

Happy Fathers Day!! (Happy Grandfathers Day to Sasha!)
    Kiss on Misha.
    Best wishes,

    Mauricio Fernandes.

I loved it. The interaction between you two is so priceless. It makes me glad and makes me think of the precious relationships I have with my own family members. A “Happy 1st Fathers’ Day!”, Gary, and a “Happy 1st GRANDfathers’ Day!” to Sasha.

I agree with DAve A; make it a regular commentary/analysis of Gary’s shows and ratings. Keep doing the show together, it’s great. I can understand if Gary has to cut back, but I’m glad it’s not going away. (I’d want to cuddle that baby some more too!) I am grateful for these free shows. They’ve taught me so much about wine. Gary’s worked hard for the praise he’s earning now, and he deserves all of it. The same obviously goes for Sasha as well. They are both good examples of what hard work and passion can do for you.

  224. June 22, 2009

Are you kidding me…? QOTD: YES, YES, a THOUSAND times, YES!!!

Sasha, you HAVE to do the show in September…

#1 Sasha episode of ALL time!!!

Hope you both had an AWESOME Fathers Day…

I would love to see an episode in Sasha’s vine seller. Great show guys!

  227. June 22, 2009

    Zino

Nce one Sasha. I love your honesty, you say it as you see it and you’re not swayed by big names and reputations. Bravo.

  228. June 22, 2009

    BobbyTiger

Was glad to see Sasha sitting beside you for the Father’s Day tasting.
    Very appropriate.
In many respects, your dad reminds me of my dad. My father, a child of the depression, worked his butt off, rose to a very good job, but…….always brown-bagged it to work. Couldn’t understand the need to spend his money for a lunch. Was wasteful in his eyes. Kinda like you dad insisting your not throwing out the left over wine in his glass. A different era indeed.
QOTD #1———— You film them Sasha, we will watch them.
QOTD #2———— Meet you in your cellar.
ps Speaking of lunches, my god Gary, feed that man sometimes.

  229. June 22, 2009

    Joe R.

Great show! I had more fun watching this one than almost any other WLTV episode I can think of.

By the way, what happened to the spreadsheet (”Gary’s Ratings” at the top of the site)? It’s been giving me “Error 404 – Not Found” for at least 2 weeks now. I’m kind of disappointed to see this feature go, so hopefully it’s just temporary.

QOTD: Sasha’s cellar episode sounds like a neat idea; I’d definitely watch it.

  230. June 22, 2009

    Kelly

The first time I have laughed OUT LOUD during an episode in a long time: when you tried to take your Dad’s glass of wine and pour it out, so he downed it. Priceless. I am so in agreement with Sasha on that. Good wine does NOT go in the bucket!

  231. June 22, 2009

    Larry R

What a great show. It’s always fun to see you two banter and especially on Father’s Day.

Gary, like you I took over the family business from my dad and got a chance to really get to know him later on in life. He passed away two months ago but I am so glad we had that chance together. Glad to see you two are so close and enjoying the moment. This was an extra-enjoyable show for me. Thanks.

    QOTD: Absolutely yes!

  232. June 22, 2009

    Sarah

    QOTD: Most definitely!

Great show…..Sasha always makes a fabulous guest!

    Hi Gary,
It’s so neat to see the way you and your father interact. You can take jabs at each other and no hurt feelings, then the next thing we see is you popping your dad with another kiss. The love between you two is amazing and I commend you for being so open in expressing that. Perhaps it’s somewhat cultural that makes it easier for you, but whatever the reason, you and your dad are great together.

Enjoyed the tastings in this episode.

Keep up the great work in WLTV, because I sure appreciate it man.

Mad props to Sasha and I second the idea of having Wine and Politics with Sasha dot tv. Politics always goes better when people have something to drink with. This is the essence of democracy.

  236. June 22, 2009

    Drew

Great show!!! Long time lurker, firt time poster. I’m a big fan of Jimmy Valvano’s speech at the ESPYs where he reminds us that every day is complete only when we laugh, think, and are moved to tears. I thank you for providing the impetus for these three emotions in a half hour internet broadcast. I really enjoyed the love and closeness that was so evident in watching you and your father’s interaction. I was reminded as to how important family is, and how I should treasure my time with my dad.

QOTD: Definitley need some more Sasha shows. Would love to see your dad in his cellar – even if he gets poltical.

  237. June 22, 2009

    Drew

Almost forgot to ask: What’s up with not giving your Dad the “big-ass glass” for Father’s Day?

  238. June 22, 2009

    Pete G

Wow. What a great show. Sasha is the best. He should definetely guest
    host from time to time.

QOTD: Would love to see an on location show from Sasha’s cellar. Make
it a big holiday production w/ food and bunch of good wines.

  239. June 22, 2009

    Harry

Great to see Sasha join for Fathers Day. I doubt he’d carry his own show very far, but it would be fun to do a special episode in his cellar – maybe an All in the Family episode with AJ (Mom & Lizzy??) to celebrate Misha’s first month or tooth or smile.
By the way, you ate like a beast as well this show – wolfing down hunks of cheese and sausage, so give your Dad a break! It would have been nice to get your feedback on the pairing interactions.

  240. June 22, 2009

    AUSSIE SAMMY S

Gary this is why you shouldn’t stop making WLTV Eps…That was an all time classic. Your old man is a legend. KUDOS to you Gary, you do so much for the vaynernation, its a credit to you, your family & your passion…I’m pumped !!!

    qotd..Yes…100%

Sorry that I am late on my comment…better late then never…LOL :-)
Classic episode, I could sit here all day and watch you guys, you two go together like peanut butter and jelly :-)

Happy FatherS Day to the both of you!!

QOTD: I would love to see an episode filmed from your cellar Sasha…CANT WAIT

  242. June 22, 2009

    Adam

I’m 31 and just gotten into wine drinking in the last 6 months or so. I was looking for wine information on google and easily found your show – great work promoting! btw Gary – You’ve built a career that would transcend the wine world into anything you put your heart into. I believe we watch you because you INSPIRE people to reach for that same PASSION. I love it. Keep up the great work bro!!

p.s. Sasha, you’re great as well. I hope you do take over for Gary atleast on a bi-weekly basis — He could definitely use a break with the new baby and all.
Also, a fishing trip would be a fabulous bonding time for you both: I sincerely hope you consider it.

  243. June 22, 2009

    Beth

I just watched the episode again. Gary, you and your Daddy are so cute together…you really make a great ‘team’.

This episode makes me smile…watching you guys eat, drink and talk.

Way to go…on to the cellar show!!

    Beth

Loved every minute of this episode. Sasha, you’re a great example of so many things…even refusing to spit the great wine. We will follow your lead. A Blessed Fathers Day to you both. Pam

    jon33

I would be interested to see a tasting of different level wines by one winemaker… IE the Molly Dooker family of wines or something like Torbreck. It would be interesting to see how they are scored as the price range rises.

  246. June 22, 2009

    tarheel17

    I LOVE your dad.

I love my dad too. But you two are adorable.

  247. June 22, 2009

    Elliot K

I’ve been watching for a long time, and I must say that this episode is definitely in my top three. This was the first time I’ve ever seen you lose your composure. It was almost like a reality show. Very fun to watch.

Also, your relationship with your Dad is very similar to the one I share with my father. We love each other dearly, but there is no way we can sit down together and talk for more than 15 minutes without getting into a huge argument. Anyhow, you and Sasha both have incredibly huge hearts, and it’s obvious that you love each other very much.

    – Elliot K. *The Original C.K.C. Representative

p.s. Go on a fishing trip with your son Sasha!

QOTD: Who’s going to say no to that?

Finally had time to catch up with this excellent, excellent episode. Just a lot of fun. Thank you. I hope you both had a very Happy Father’s Day.

  251. June 22, 2009

    Nick V

Great father’s day show, loved the banter between Sasha and you more than the wine talk! Love it when Sasha promotes Italian vino, that my business.
QOTD: Who wouldn’t love an episode in Sasha’s cellar?

    Happy (late) Father’s Day guys

  252. June 22, 2009

    Larry G

Wow, great episode. I would not watch your Dad’s wine show but a political show? Maybe. Keep it up. With out you Gary I’d still be drinking soda.

    laposte

GV/SV, Really one of the best episodes!
Although I have a couple birthdays on Sasha this is my first Father’s Day with out my Dad, my heart is heavy yet filled with memories of a life well lived.
    QOTD.
Would very much enjoy an episode in Sasha’s cellar. I too am an Amarone lover.
    Thanks again.

I am not a lurker, but have just recently found you. I caught the last few seconds of your Jimmy Fallon appearance and was intrigued. I cannot stop watching the past episodes as you are so knowledgeable, charismatic, and funny (have to admit I am totally jealous of your wife!).

You are such an inspiration; I have already been drinking wine differently and trying new things. Looking forward to more!

  255. June 23, 2009

    Don

TERRIFIC EPISODE!!! Very enjoyable 38 minutes. Your Dad is just plain AWESOME. It is so great to see how much you love your Dad and the pride and respect you have for him. Its so funny when he’s on the show because he crushes food. Gary, congratulations on YOUR 1st Father’s Day!!!

My Dad and I have started to go on an annual father & son fly fishing trip in late July. So far we’ve taken trips to Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. I treasure the special time I spend with my Dad and its something I look forward to all year long.

    QOTD: Bring it on Sasha!!!

  256. June 23, 2009

    Don

I forgot to mention Sasha’s story about catching the hawk in the barn was hilarious. He was so animated when you didn’t believe he caught the hawk!!!

  257. June 23, 2009

    Brian

Great show, would love to see Sasha’s cellar. Gary, its great when you have guests on the show because its really demonstrates how what you do is hard, even though you make it seem easy. It inspires me to think more about the wine I’m drinking (not only why I like something, but why). Moving to Northern New Jersey in a month and looking forward to shopping at the “library”.

  258. June 23, 2009

    John D.

Yes! Sasha is back in the house!

Thanks for the great episode. It’s always fun watching you together. I love amarone. The hawk story was great. My grandpa had his own farm too in Upstate NY and had cool stories like that to tell. I took my Dad out to his favorite restaurant for Father’s Day and had a great time, lots of laughs. Happy Father’s Day to you both!

  259. June 23, 2009

    Frank

OK, to gary, as said before, any show with your Dad, Sasha, is great. Not only ’cause he is the coolest Dad ever, but your interaction with him.

QOTD: Well, something I hoped he would ask is, “What are you committed to, wholly and completely.” Can we make that Qotd(b)? I am really curious.

As far as that QOTD that the man Sasha asked. YES! I would love to see his cellar. A man with that experience would be awesome. Although, waiting till September may be too long.

Far as other shows with Papa Sasha, yes. Can be monthly, Tri-Monthly(?, whatever. Good too see that experience. PLUS, have food parings. I am still not a wine drinker, as much as a fan I am of WLTV. But Sasha eats in a way that makes me hungry. I want that bread, I want that Cheese, I want that (?) cured meat. Which ever it may be. Sasha has a market all of his own in the media. Would be nice.

I have been watching your show for a long time and this is my first comment. This was one of the best shows ever. Being from Europe myself I can so relate. You guys have a great relationship. I think it would be outstanding if your dad would do even 1 or 2 shows a month. I will look forward to the show in September in your dad’s cellar. I hope you do continue with the show for many years to come. Keep expanding our palates, all the best. Lou

P.S. I did E-Mail you personally awhile back about doing a head to head with tokaj and sauterne. maybee sometime?

Dude, that was beautiful. You are so lucky to have that with your dad, and your obvious gratitude was wonderful. That show warmed my heart. Thank you.

You two need to watch this episode and see how many times each of you makes a face in the camera about each other – rolling eyes, smirking, smiling… You guys are hilarious together. The best look is Gary’s when Sasha says he’s committed, unlike his son.

I would love to see a Sasha show on the third Thursday of every month. The show could consist of a bottle of wine that he likes and just talking about whatever he wants. Politics, religion, business, whatever. Just make it a consistent day so the haters can avoid it if they want.

    GO FISHING!

Old School Sasha rules! Gary your dad is such a cool cat, grabbing hawks. Really, he is like a mature James Bond. Every time I see him and you together it makes me think about how much I miss my Dad. Sasha you have to go on the fishing trip. Moments like and the memories that come from it are what make life truly great.

QOTD: I can’t wait for the September cellar episode.

I think I would’ve paid money to watch your dad chase those two hawks. Throwing shit at them and cursing the whole way, now thats classic WLTV! When do I get an invite to do the show?

Happy belated new Father’s Day to you Gary, that show reminded me of the Smothers Brothers. I know where your dad is coming from on the La Mission Haut Brion as my wife and I shared a bottle of 2000 Reserve de la Comtesse Lalande this past weekend. It definitely had the vegy cab thing going on but I think I finally got it after the fourth try of a full case. I can see how new world drinkers would think what’s the big deal. A wine that I can’t get enough of is the 06 Vigna Irpine Giubilo and the bottle has got some impressive heft! I love its freshness and Pinot like character. I would like you to be more specific when you bash the oak monster and distinguish between the American oak monster and the European oak monster as I don’t want to have anything to do with coconut flavored wine. Cheers, I’ll be watching for as long as you do the show!

Love the episodes with you guys together. Can’t stop smiling as I watch :)
QOTD- yes I would love to see Sasha do a show all the time (which he actually asked as the first QOTD) and I would love to see him do a show from his cellar)

Happy Fathers Day to you both!

Sasha is consistently my favorite guest on your show, Gary. Thank you for sharing him with us. I really appreciate your relationship, and it is especially poignant now that you’re a father yourself. Your interaction really enhances the wine experience. I, too, share wines, cheeses, breads, meats at my table with my family, when multiple generations gather. It’s truly priceless.

QOTD: Absolutely, please shoot a whole series of episodes of WLTV from Sasha’s cellar. I’d love to hear more stories about how each of his wines came into his life, how they enhance his life.

The story about the hawk was amazing. Some tasting from Sasha’s cellar would be awesome. Last time Sasha was on and you guys were eating the gifilte fish…he made it look so good I just had to run out and get a jar with some horseradish to go with it! My first time with the stuff…not bad!

I have been watching this show on iTunes as a podcast for about a month now, and its become an absolute favorite. This episode, though, was the absolute best! I hadn’t had much to do with wine ever before, but I went on a trip with my college to Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia for a month and tasted wines from all over. I got very interested, and when I got back to the states wanted to learn more and more. I’ve watched your show religiously since I got back, and have a running list of wines that I need to buy and try.

As far as your dad goes, give him a slot! a quick segment every now and then with a story (like the hawk one) would be wonderful. you’re very lucky to have a dad like that. I’d love to see more of him in the future!

QOD1 : yeah! if he’d commit to it, make it a weekly affair to go a long with one of your shows! that would be really cool!
QOD2 : i’d love to see the cellar!

Another thing, I am from the southwestern corner of michigan. I lived up there when I was little and remember nothing but miles and miles of grapes, and my dad telling me stories about when he tied them as a boy for the myriad of local wineries. Perhaps you’ve already done a session on them, but I couldn’t find it. Some specific wineries, though, are Tabor Hill, Round Barn, and Lemon Creek. If you haven’t already, I’d love to see something on the Michigan wine region.

Thanks for constantly being an inspiration to the wine world. I’ve told several of my friends about this show and am very excited about spending the next 30+ years learning about wine with you!

Big G, I know I have not given a comment in a long time, but your this Episode did it for me. You guys play off each other so well. You just got to love it. I can really see where you get your drive. The rest of ya must be from your Mom. LOL

This has to be one of my favorite episodes – you and your Dad put into practice what you preach. You clearly love one another, and the results are hilarious. Happy Fathers Day!

The best WLTV episode EVER!!!! The last ten minutes I was laughing so hard it hurt! Sasha, you are the BEST and it is very obvious why Gary is who he is today. Wow!

QOTD 1: Sasha, you should help out Gary and do one WLTV episode per week as the guest host, Do it your way. It would be awesome!!

QOTD 2: I would LOVE to see an episode of WLTV recorded by Mott at Sasha’s cellar – with or without Gary. It should be a two-part episode because you know it will go about 90 minutes!!! :-)

This was so awesome. I feel like I’ve known you and your dad my entire life. You got great passion and knowledge..and you’re real. Keep up the good work.. love the show..love wine even more…but it’s close.

    Karl Laczko

OK, that was the best laugh I’ve had in a while – you two are great, I really thought Sasha was going to walk out towards the beginning! I was also jealous watching you eat all that Salami & Cheese.

The White Zin comment was a bit below the belt, but I love Amarone so know whre Sasha is coming from. Sounds lke a good mix of wines on the table.

almostQOTD (the one where you go solo)- no, you need to bounce off each other. So how about a couple of shows a month with Gary?

final QOTD (the Sasha & Mott spectacular) – absolutely!

  286. June 24, 2009

    Kyle Webs

Yeah, start your own show! Why not?!

Gary has to continue his also!

One thing that’s true of Sasha on WLTV and in real life is that he loves his bread! I’ve had the pleasure of dining with him twice (once here in Boston and once in NJ) and that man can eat some bread! Happy father’s day to both of you!

  288. June 24, 2009

    Giovanni from Atlanta

Dad has the right idea. I am not spitting a 35 dollar bottle of booze into the bucket…lol.

I have learned more from these guys than anyone in the wine business. I am glad we are bringing wine down to a level of reality that the average person realizes it isn’t rocket science and that it should be enjoyed by everyone.

I opened up a bottle of wine from my grandfathers home town, Trento, in Italy. It was a Lagrein. It isn’t so much the drinking of the wine as it is the history as to where it is from, and the quality of all the elements that go into the final product.

Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to do this. It is very much appreciated.

Wine making is truly a science turned into an art.

Quite an episode – a classic indeed. And yes, your father should go fishing with you. My dad pulls the same kind of stuff.

QOTD: well…his second question: yes, a show in his cellar would be cool indeed. a regular show…i think he underestimates what you bring to the table!!! Typical dad. Hah. I am one, so I can say that now…

The eye roll from Sasha in the first 50 seconds is hysterical.
And Sasha doesn’t spit! Excellent. Gary take a tip and drink the damn wine!
Sasha is still my favorite guest.
I have also worked for with my father for the past 12 years. Fun times. Entertaining in the least.

Happy Father’s Day Vaynerchuks. Great show. Loved the back and forth. Definitely need to see what Sasha has stashed away at the farm in his cellar. It would be priceless if Gary were to “grab” a hawk and let it free in the cellar during the show. Would give us the opportunity to see Sasha in true hawk-fighting form.

Sasha, I hear what you say. Isn’t fatherhood great? Then again, isn’t fatherhood great!? Gary here’s an interesting story on letting wine breathe. Some months back I bought and drank a bottle of Anaperenna. Two weeks ago I saw your episode on this wine. I swear your discription of this wine, although a little generous, was word for word my own. And this is why you were ‘wrong’. My first tasting,a half glass, was 4 hours after opening. Ok, but a little disappointing given the hype. I came back to it 24 hours later. Again half a glass. Could have improved a little but then it could have been the $44 I’d spent on the wine. I was prepared to write it off. Tried it for the third time the next day, 52 hours after openning. Unbelieveable!! In the glass, sniffy snif as you say, there was an explosion of aromas. Dark and red berries which transfered to the palate. The tannins were always soft, but now the texture was velet smooth, luxurious. Complex flavours right across the palate with a very long finnish. However, it wasn’t as full-bodied as it first appearred. During this time I never recorked the bottle. Drank the lot that night. All in all a facinating experience.

Man, this episode is excruciatingly precious. I love the way you guys interact with each other. It is refreshing to see two masculine men who are not afraid to show their affectionate side. So is he going to go fishing with you or what? Can’t wait for the Sasha cellar episode. You are THE man Gary. Keep up the superb work.

I truly appreciated this episode. Sasha should come on with an occasional episode as he feels able / willing to commit; it would be a good chance to give GV a break, and for us to enjoy his wit, wisdom, and palate.

Go fishing guys. You won’t get any better quality time together than time spent on the water. Start now, and bring along Misha when she gets old enough to hold a fishing rod. You won’t regret it.

I miss my dad so much. He passed in 1994. I was only 24 when he died. He was really cool like Gary’s dad. Everybody loved him!

I love your dad. That’s nothing you haven’t heard before, though. WHY don’t you let the man indulge his political discussions on the show when he’s on? What’s the harm? It will be Sasha’s component, not yours, and I agree with him (maybe because I’m also 55 and because I come from a Ukrainian family that discussed politics 24/7) that there is no reason to shy away from either of the New World’s traditionally forbidden topics of politics or religion. What else is there that’s worth discussing? Okay, there is wine, and “we” discuss is on WLTV daily. Let’s discuss what Sasha wants to discuss when he’s your guest. Your other guests discuss their passions, no? And those are not always vino.
