Hey Gary,
Great show, especially since I’ve been curious about Cameron Hughes for a while. You’ve been doing a great job in the thunder seat for a while, which is great. Love the wine geek episodes, the occasional in depth short shots, the blind tastings. I was about to email you to be sure you received my friend’s wine, Aum Cellars, a few months back, but I’ll follow up with you here – when is the bio-dynamic follow up to N. Joly coming? We’d love to be a part of it. Hope you spent far more time with Lizzy and Misha than WLTV this weekend and all is happy and well.

Really great episode! I am going to look for that Cabernet. That’s a perfect price point for my wife and me. My only comment would be the following: I think you used to talk more about pairing the particular wine you’re tasting with food. I think you’ve sort of fallen away from that. Could you get back up on that horse? I really like your pairing ideas.

GV. Much love from a former lurker that now comments on every episode. Im still not sure if anyone reads my comments but thanks for giving us a forum. I am an absolute wine fanatic and WLTV junkie, I have also bought some stuff from WL.com, particularly love buying bottles that you have tasted and reviewed. Thanks for all of the great content and the dedication to us watchers. You are truly “Crushing It”

Couple of things.
1. I love blind tastings. It is where you separate yourself from every other wine tasting hack and it shows us what kind of level you are on in the winetasting world. PS. Do you think that your palate is the strongest that it will ever get, right now?
2. I think that an great opportunity exists for you to do a show with a some ESPN morning guys that have exploded on the scene and gained extreme press in the last few years. Mike and Mike is a great show, and Mike Greenberg is a HUGE Jets fan. Eventhough they are a radio show, their show is simulcast on ESPN2. I think that it would be awesome to bring a little GV Thunder to a morning sports show. Maybe you could go on their show and then they could come on yours? I just think that your love of sports and their love of sports/characters/finer things might be something great to watch. PS you might get to meet some cool people at the ESPN studios too!

SOTD: Rock on! I would love to see a one or two bottle birth year wine show. Might get a bit pricey, but pull out the big boys and pick two that could last the long haul. Possibly pick one great bottle that you could taste a flight from ~10 years ago, and suggest saving the current vintage.

Statement of the Day: You’ve done an excellent job covering wines from all over the world within the $10 – $25 range, where you exploit value. I’d like to see one episode where you say value be damn, lets get Big-Baller. Taste some high-end cult Cali Cabs, first-growth french bordeauxs/burgundies, etc.

Gary – I know this is two episodes late, but the sake episode still rings in my mind – loved it, makes me want to learn to make it actually, although I really would have loved some talk about sparkling sake – that Zipang you sell that KRose drank on Diggnation a year or so ago is the bomb. Keep up the good work.

Great show, I especially appreciate the tastings of more accessible wines. Quicklist of pros/cons:

PROS:
* “Nerding it up”–I actually enjoy some of the more technical aspects from time to time and I’ve definitely learned a TON from the fraction of episodes I’ve watched–I’ve used that knowledge to go out and buy new wines and share them with friends;
* Episodes with Sasha, some of my fav episodes feature him;

CONS:
* IMO, seems like there are too many episodes with celebrities who don’t contribute much insight into wine/wine tasting/etc. I understand the marketing appeal of having them on occasionally, but these have been some of my least favorite episodes

SUGGESTION?
* Maybe you’ve done videos like this and I need to search the archives, but I think it would be cool to have a few “How to” episodes, like a “how to taste wines”, “how to have a blind tasting party”, “how to store a modest wine collection at home”; sure there are hundreds of websites on these topics, but I think it would be cool to see your take on this. Hi Gary! I have to admit that I cannot get away from watching daily your show. I watch it mostly to get a better knowledge of the new world wines – here in Europe you don’t get so many of f.ex. wines from Oregon and co., so I try to get myself updated with all means possible. Besides you make the show be a real ‘SHOW’ with your charisma and… ’somehow’ I got addicted to WineLibraryTv. I’m trying to get into wine business here in Barcelona, following the WSET educational system (got the intermediate cert., studying for the advance one now). I love wine, I feel truly inspired whenever I taste, listen or talk about it. I was lucky to live before in Germany, so I could try a lot of their rieslings and co., as well as a lot of Italian wines (as they’re broadly available there). Though for the moment, my biggest highlight was (is) ‘Clio 2003′ Jumilla. I guess this was the wine that change my perception and made my realize what I want to do with my life!

I appreciate your daily work (knowing you’ve just had a baby daughter), and the commitment. Hope you can go on and keep up the great work for a long, long time. All the best!

Good episode. It felt like old school WLTV to me: great energy, really focused on the wine and the Vayniacs. Good stuff.

Since you asked for pros and cons, I’ll share my preferences:

- Love it when you nerd it up. That doesn’t mean high-end cabs/Bordeaux; I mean when you do something obscure and/or ready focus on going deep and dropping knowledge.
- Generally I like guest episodes, especially when its (1) someone famous or (2) a wine pro. Not so much when it’s novices (it’s not snobbery, I just find it a bit uncomfortable watching them because THEY seem uncomfortable trying to talk about wine).
- Also, I like the change of scenery of your “on location” episodes. And if it helps you squeeze episodes into your busy life, all the better.
- LOVE blind tasting episodes.
- Like it when you taste with food.
- Not a big fan of the occasional non-wine episodes (sake, beer)

Having said all that, I’ll cut you a ton of slack. You should do whatever energizes you about the show and whatever you can fit into your life. If you want to do an episode on pickles, fine. Have some Web 2.0 friend on, fine. As someone else said, I’d rather you mix it up or cut back than end it altogether. Keep it up. It is very much appreciated (even if the comment counts don’t always reflect it!).

I’ve been a fan of the show for quite some time and haven’t missed an episode prolly since the late 300’s early 400’s. For sure I’ve been a big time lurker but decided to finally come out of the shadows lol
You are trully one fantastic dude and a source of inspiration. In fact you inspired me and a great buddy of mine to start up our own podcast on cigars, drinks lifestyle and sometimes a bit of tech and other times a LOT of tech
