SOTD: After working on computer projects all day, redoing them this way and that, make the graphic larger, where did they put the file, then being cut off in traffic, sigh, eating in the car between this website for this client, and getting ready for the next, I am glad to come home. And one of the nice things, is watching your show. I want you to know that.

SOTD: I’ll say again that I loved the sake episodes. Another new area for you after nearly 700(!) episodes. I’ve still got one other wine area I don’t think you’ve explored yet and would love to see a show on– native American grapes, such as Catawba, Concord, Delaward, Niagara, etc etc. Keep up with the #crushit!

    Gary,
What type of music do you listen to? Listening to good music is just as therapeutic as drinking great wine for me. Please tell us your top five bands at the moment I think it might be interesting

Great episode, i’ll have to check the costco I live next to for their Cameron Hughes selections.

QOTD: Was just stressed with moving my girlfriend into her new apartment and WLTV always picks me up. It’s nice when you have stress in your life to have a place to turn to and learn about how to live. Thanks.

I think you need to write a philosophy book about the Gray zone (anagram of Gary, eh?!) People always go off to one extreme or another, its nice to be in the middle and get the pleasure both ways. Keep it up, love it!

Today’s show: Excellent. You are back with the thunder.

Earlier show: I still think Oregon’s Willamette Valley makes the best Pinot Noir but don’t worry, you didn’t ‘ruffle my feathers’ and I am glad to see you are still ‘ripping our faces off’ by bringing serious thunder!

SOTD: Would love an episode on wines w/bird labels (Duck Pond Cellars comes to mind, etc.) and a little ’shout-out’ to Boingbird.com w/a MOTT! link-up. How’s THAT for shameless? =D

As a random comment I wanted to make sure you appreciate how your show really transends typical media. I’m been around the world this last year on business (Australia, Abu Dhabi) for long periods away from family, etc. Because you’re on the Internet, one consistent part my life has been your show, inspiring me to continue to explore wine (even in AD where you can only really buy wine in tourist hotels). Sports are different (love Aussie rules), politics are different, television is different in these different places. You’re a true bit of the old USA wherever I go.

Best play ever, save up a few Thunder Shows for watching on the Nano during those long plane rides.

Gary you are Superman!! Balancing all you have going on requires superhuman effort you rock! I don’t think anybody else cares enough to do it. Don’t comment much but I had to today.

Gary, thanks for pumping out the episodes. Like most people, I’d like to drink alot more wine than I do. How about hooking me up with all those people you know that will NEVER drink all the wine in their cellars and have them send me some!! :)

SOTD: Remembering my very first wine experience — I was ninetee … I mean, 21-years-old. I bought a killer (really, it’s killing me) bottle of Beringer White Zinfandel, and went to town trying to introduce myself to a more elegant alternative than Mickey’s Big Mouth. Okay, that was a painful admission. Let’s switch gears. GV, keep it up. I watch you every day. I LOVE the fun facts. John’s “Cream, this is it” song was frightening. I like QOTD better than SOTD. Costco has a generic Champagne. I wonder what it’s like. Your baby angel is BEAUTIFUL. I keep waiting for you to preview the following two very special guests on WLTV: Mottster of course, and Lizzy!

    SOTD:

    Hey Gary!
Just wanted to say thank you for being such an inspiration. We’re close to launching our new business venture (realistically Fall of this year) and you are a big reason it’s happening. Thank you for your advice on the Thunder Cruise.
We are looking forward to reading your new book, hearing about the Thunder Cruise 2010, and attending the event you’re hosting in my home town (Toronto) when the Bills and Jets face off in December. Let me know if you need any hooks in the T Dot :)

SOTD: props to you for continuing to pump out the content, despite the unknowable upheavals in your life.

SSOTD: if i did not leave a comment, it was likely due to me not watching the episode. i do this when i feel the time does not contribute to my wine awareness/knowledge bc of guests that are on to advertise their own media agenda.

SSSOTD: well wishes to your new child and family. good health to you all.

G…Thanks for mixing it up with such a *controversial* negociant. I see his stuff at COSTCO all the time and have bitten on a few. And, like yourself, have liked some, have disliked some; such is the nature of wine. How many Mondavi, Kendall-Jackson, Beringer wines do we feel the same about? Great content yet once again. Thank you.

SOTD: Just please keep doing what you are doing, keep in touch, and please continue to jump in and converse with your forum crew. We’re a pretty good bunch who support you like no other…..and we kinda like the juice. Thanks again. Was I suppose to leave my e-mail address somewhere…it sounded like there was gonna be a link. Or was I to e-mail Chris? I re-watch.

SOTD: I really want to know how you (Gary) manage your time. I’m 37, married, own a house and my own business (photographer) and have a beautiful 17-month old daughter that I am at home with all week (my wife Brenda is an elementary school teacher, out of the house 8-5 M-F). I can’t keep up. My business isn’t where I want it to be and my personal work (being a photographer I have an artistic bent I want to fulfill) is almost zero. I chose the full-time job of Dad during the week instead of day care, so I know that is a hurdle I will not jump. But between maintaining a home (the yard, cars, minor repairs & improvements) and maintaining my wonderful family, how do I do more for me/my work? Thoughts on time management Gary? Perhaps I shouldn’t take the time to watch WLTV! Thank you as always.

QOTD: I would like you to do an episode where you compare the Vinturi vs Decanting vs Pop n’ Pour.

    Kurt M.

SOTD: I didn’t come on the Thunder cruise because there were persistent rumors on the forums that you weren’t going to show (”blunder cruise”), and I wasn’t going to go if you weren’t there. Since you were there, I am totally bummed out that I didn’t go :( .

SOTD2: When is the next fan meetup at the NJ wine shop? I am so there!!!

SOTD3: Love the show! Please don’t quit :(

SOTD: Palate reference are spot on. I’m 32 years old and I love the pop culture references from our childhood. Hustling+passion = Crushing it.

Great show – will look for the Flying Winemaker as a value try.
Started watching you via iTunes when living in Switzerland – have you ever done a show on Swiss wines? Thanks for the lessons and I am learning a lot more about wine than I ever knew before.

Loved this episode, just like your old self again. We need to see more of these, and less guests. Continue to bring the knowledge, and laid back Friday couch!

SOTD: I am enjoying learning more about wine (and life) every day. Thank you for helping provide part of that education.

My wife and I are introducing our daughter and her husband to Sonoma & Napa Counties two weeks from Monday and we all can hardly wait!

Mrs. OH and I just got back from a discount wine festival on the Cleveland lakefront. We managed to find a few gems amongst all of the other discount wines. Definitely worth the visit if you’re not a snob.

I need to find that Lot 100 cab. Hate cab, but maybe this will open my pal. Thanks Gary!

SOTD: I know this will sound sappy, but you inspire me Gary. Your energy, passion and desire to just continue to better yourself and all out dominate anything you get in to is simply outstanding. I wish I could be 1/10th as passionate as you are.
