    I LOVE THE NERD STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Great show!

Gary fumbles the ball, but not the wine! (He does fumble accents however)

It’s Franssssssois. That’s why you have the dingy under the “c”, ç.

QOTD: I had a Château Simard, St. Émilion, 1998, which was great! It still has a lot of potential for the coming years. (I still have 3 bottles tucked away…)

    Keep up the good work!

I really like how the shows are going. I have NEVER even heard of these wines and I am excited to find them.

Regarding the web 2.0 comment from one of the listeners – DON’T EVER STOP THAT!! That is how I ended up becoming a Vayniac in the first place! I never even drank wine before I watched the show…..and now I have tried many kinds of wine since becoming an avid listener. Its all about expanding your pallet!!

Just keep doing what your doing.

Good show GV. Enjoy the “nerd” shows but keep it entertaining, also. I had a 2006 URBAN RIESLING.

    FUMBLE!!Rumblin, stublin, stumblin.
I would have died if Mott would have come in from the side and taken gary out to recover the fumble.I think he missed out on his opportunity for a little Giants on Jets workover.

    QOTD:Alto Moncayo Veraton Garnacha,Yumm Yumm!!
    Rogue Brewery Shakespeare stout,Delicious!!

I was surprised to hear you tell the viewers who Misha is since you have mentioned it in past episodes so many times. But it’s a great thing because it shows you’re always open and encouraging to new viewers!

QOTD: Clos de los Siete by Michel Rolland (Malbec blend) Argentina – 2007

  9. June 29, 2009

good stuff gary. like the nerd info and shenanigans. my fiancee and i had an edelweiss snowfresh beer and a brooklyn black chocolate stout. and an inniskillin (okanagan bc) malbec which was good. compared to cahors and argentina, it was somewhere in the middle with fruit and earthiness, with some great tannins, nice chocolate and tobacco, and good fresh fruit. especially on the finish, which after about 2 min my mouth felt like i just bit into a fresh raspberry. that was the kicker for that wine.

    Keep nerding it up GV!

QOTD: i had a very nice house Riesling at dinner on friday.
Later that night some nasty vodka in jello shots, screw drivers, keystone from a keg.
Sunday night i opened a bottle of Shiraz that was pretty meh. all the reason i dont remember what its called.

Bravo, thanks for keeping the content top notch and the education coming.

What is the “Tuck Rule” when throwing crumpled-up comments for WLTV?

QITD: No wine, just a bunch of beers (was in a boat for much of the weekend): Labatt Blue Light, Sam Adams Summmer, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat (like dessert); Miller Light, Corona, Sierra Navada Pale Ale. Liquor: Cuervo Gold Tequilla and some shots of washington apple somewhat bought.

You call that nerdy? This is Burgundy! I gotta call it like I see it, this show scored low for me. Not the topic but the content. No background on the producers or the sites or the difference between ‘05 and ‘06 in Burgundy, etc.

I’m surprised that pronouncing Francois was a problem, pretty common name in FRANCE. ;-)

    @Armond_

QOTD: Tazo China green-tips green tea.

Gary, it would be really cool if you brought a tea expert on your show and sampled some killer teas. Think of all the varitions: hot, cold, w/ w/o milk or sugar, leaf based, fruit/flower based. It would be nerdy, educational, and very unique.

Like the nerdy. I don’t drink a lot of Santenay as the tastes are not classic burgundy to me. I like Chinon so the more inexpensive one may be appealing and I know I’ve never had white Santenay. This weekend was mostly Frexinet
Cava with one Montepuciano de Abbruzo bot I don’t know who made it as it was not my bottle.

    Micha

Thanks for a nerdy show spreading some knowledge. I’m not the biggest french wine enthusiast, so i haven’t discovered Santenay yet. But might come some day.
QOTD: The next Bottle to pop, when i’m in the mood, will be the

Diemersdal Estate, Privat Collection, 2005, South Afrika, Dourbanville.

QOTD – Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc and Altos Del Cuco Syrah/Tempranillo – filled in with some Canadian Club, as needed….

….enjoyed the show – all the wines can’t be winners, but we all learn as we go….

In the Parking lot of the Oakland A’s game Saturday night I drank some Pacifico Cerveza. I love those for a Tailgating. Then inside was A’s Beer Fest and I had one Kona Longboard Island Lager and one Trumer Pils. Let’s not talk about the game, I’m a SF Giants fan anyways.

Sunday Evening I had a 2006 Anthill Farms Syrah “Windsor Oaks Vineyard”. Good for my palate.

Great show nerd it up. It’s is always fun. Blind tasting to come. Right?

HEY Gary! Dare you to read my comment.

Great episode, keep up the nerd, amp it up for that matter; I’d be down!
QOTD, had pimento (http://www.miamz.fr/tag/boisson-piment/) for the first time, tasted really good, with that spicy kick on the end that lingered for a nice long while. The night ended with straight gordon’s, which I appreciated much less… Some delicious beer though (I’m trying all the amber beers I can find) page 24 and ninkasi (the french brewery, not the oregon one.) Ninkasi amber is probably my favorite beer out the the dozens I’ve been tasting as of late.

    QotD: Masi Campofiorin Ripasso 2005.
It’s been a favorite of mine & my GF for a year or so. I hope you’ve tasted it. Affordable & so worth it. Really enjoyed the recent Sake episode, btw. It’s been 86+ (f) here all last week so I’ve mostly been drinking water, otherwise. :)
