Oh – I also like Ino in Grenwich Village. Italian wine bar. The goat cheese and fennel frond brusceta is reason enough to go. Hope it still exists.

That place is Bitchen with a capital B.

QOTD: All I know is High Time Wine Cellars here in Costa Mesa, CA. The staff is great, and the wines are always interesting. Need to get out more. Would love to see something like this place in SoCal.

Wine Shop @ Rivergate. In Charlotte NC. Like it as we can take our dogs, sit outside with a nice bottle of wine after we have taking them to their training. Guess you can call it a great family night out.

How cool, I’ll be in Northern New Jersey on business over the next couple weeks. Now I have a unique NYC destination to visit.

QoTD – The Cave @ Ventura Wine Company (Calfornia) or the Tasting Room at Calcareous in Paso Robles.

    Great show, GV!

QOTD: Haven’t been to too many wine bars, but had some Chilean wine last night at the Chaise Lounge in Chicago’s Wicker Park. Nice place. Maybe its just being able to sit outside at night for three hours… Loved it!

Great show…and it’s great to see CLO. I didn’t know about them and will try hit them up the next time we are in NYC.

QOTD: Morrell Wine Bar has always been a favorite of mine in NYC.

That really did look like a cool wine bar. However, it sounded like they had way too much noise pollution coming in. I like my wine bar to be more relaxing and quieter, perhaps with some jazz or electronica. It also looked not all that cozy and comfortable to hang out there. But i did like all the high tech stuff. I think this appeals for the techy/geek factor. But i probably still wouldn’t hang out there.

Hey, just want to throw this out there even though i know it’s a long shot. i recently watched John Cleese in his documentary called Wine for the Confused. I think you and he have similar philosophies about wine. I think it would be so cool if you could convince him to come on your show. I bet he would if you could somehow get in touch with him. He apparently lives in or very near wine country CA according to his film.

QOTD: my favorite wine bar is a place called Purple in Seattle. I love their wine flights that they pair with tapas. Yummy and very reasonably priced. And super cool decor. thepurplecafe.com. And not only is the wine list amazing, the food there is amazing too. i love, love, love their lobster mac n cheese. omg my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Hey Marco. Haven’t seen a post from you in a while. My favorite wine bar is in Santa Rosa CA. Willies.

Hey Gary…I watch you show consistently, but rarely post. I just have to say that way you described over extracted fruit bomb wines today was the best job you’ve ever done.

QOTD – I don’t have a favorite. I’ve been to many and I am almost always disappointed in the selection. I want something different, unique and tasty; however I usually don’t find the quality I am seeking. I also feel they are over priced for the quality I get.

It’s a tie for us; House Wine in Worthington, Ohio or Tutto Vino in Dublin, Ohio. Great episode! House Wine has the machines too, and they’re fun! It’s nice to taste just a few ounces of something you might not be able to buy a whole bottle of.

Clo is a great place where new technology meets old wine!

Really liked this video. I think you should do more stuff like this, visiting bars and wineries. Really like the enthusiasm you bring. Nice to have something entertaining in the wine world and different from the dreary wine snobs out there. I’ve recently found your site but I’ve been watching all the previous videos and telling all my friends at the winery to check you out.

Cool use of technology and design at CLO, although I have to assume that dictates the price of their vino. I saw a lot of pricey wines for just one glass as you were panning around. Either way, it was a cool spot…

GV- were you eating an otter pop before the show? I think your tongue was red, mine only turns purple from wine. Maybe you were drinking a Rose?

QOTD: I haven’t been to as many wine bars as I’d like, I often buy and drink here or hit the tasting rooms in Hood River or Dundee. But, I do like this little place over by my work called Rennaissance Wines (Hillsboro, OR) that does $5-$10 flights every Friday night at 5:00pm. It’s perfect after a long week at the office. It’s not the coolest place in the world, nor do they have the greatest selection, but the staff is cool and it’s convenient.

Excellent episode, classic GV passion, gorgeous location, enjoyed the company (Brian rocked), and, my favorite, fun facts! Great on-location thunder, GV! QOTD: The bar at 21 Oceanfront, Newport Beach, CA, during sunset. Good times!

There’s a wine bar in downtown Chicago called Just Grapes that has a similar concept with the credit card and automatic pours. Never been, but have been meaning to. Definitely the first time I’ve seen an electronic menu, very cool.

QOTD: Webster’s Wine Bar in Chicago. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, extensive wine list with thorough descriptions, and excellent food…all while remaining moderately priced.

  24. July 3, 2009

    Jim in Atlanta

That seemed like a cool idea and a neat place to learn about wine and try new things. QOTD – My favorite places in the Smyrna/Vinings Atlanta area are Muss and Turners and The Vineyard. Both have interesting wines and bring in winemakers and other people with wine knowledge.

    Great Show, Loved the location
They seem to have a great idea for a successful wine bar.

Love the Content, Keep it coming :)
Hope your family is doing well. Keep them first before work.
