The sound recording was a bit dodgy in this episode but since GV unearthed a monster wine we’ll let him off!

qotd: Music, listen to Radio 1 pete tong at work from the internet good old dance music beats. some Daft Punk, Ministry of Sound all the euro stuff being from north america it is hard to find that type of music.
TV Heros, Lost, OZ and James wine Adventure, Arrested Development, FLight of the Concords
Movies started to enjoy movies for being movies even the badly rated stuff for the sheer entertainment value (as long as it isn’t too bad)

I really think Dexter is the best show on TV right now. My wife Keri and I just recently discovered it and watched all 3 seasons in about 4 weeks. Totally hooked. Loving the new Dave Matthews Band album. Brilliant music. Also, Butch Walker is clever and amazing. And there’s a great new band out of Portland, Oregon that you’ll be hearing a lot about called Hockey. Check em out.

GV – I am glad that at the end you told me where you were. I was looking at your unshaven face, the paint peeling behind you , and the scratch marks on the wall. I was thinking that maybe you were a crack addict. However, I know that is not the case.
Have not had a Pic St Loup, but the varietals are right in my wheel house, I am sure that I would enjoy.

QOTD – I am not much a TV watcher (other than Seinfeld), however my kids got me into House and The Office. For music – I really like Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse for newer artists.

Languedoc is fun to explore…there is a HUGE amount of grapes grown there, much of which ends up in non denomination blends from elsewhere in France.

QOTD: No TV, listening to Brazilian Salsa singer Marissa Monte, liking the older classic movies from Netflix…too much of the new movies are a load of crap, and all of the remakes? Please no more!

Thanks for your review of the 2005 Domain de L’Hortus Grande Cuvee. I purchased 4 bottles and am enjoying it as I write. I replayed the epi to see if I agree with your tasting. This was actually the first epi of your show that I saw. You turned me back on to wine. I love it but I just couldn’t justify spending money on wine when my family doesn’t really drink. I have friends that do but we don’t share the same tastes. One friend is way too serious while my other friends have palates that aren’t, in my opinion, that sophisticated.

This wine is really elegant. I agree it’s great. Your description of the black tea flavor is dead on. It tastes really great with food. I had a wonderful steak with it. I also joined your wine club because it appears we have similar tastes.

Anyway, I’d like to make a request. Could you help me with the whites though. I live in Northern CA and the CA “oak monster” destroyed any desire I had to drink white wine. The word chardonnay makes my stomach roil. Really, I get ill from white wine.

TV shows: Burn Notice, The Closer, Law & Order, True Blood
Movies: Iron Man, The Shawshank Redemption,
    Music: Chrisette Michele, Gavin DeGraw

Once again Gary, another little area I wasn’t too familiar with. Love those episodes. Speaking of which, a charbono tasting would be really neat to see. Would also turn people onto some stuff they maybe weren’t too familiar with, I’d think.
Great show can’t wait to try out some Pic St. Loup’s.
    qotd.
music-sonic youth, movie-cool hand luke, tv-curb your enthusiasm

Have not had these wines.. http://www.winelx.com

Love Languedoc, and some friends from Nimes and Montpellier clued me in on Pic St-Loup, probably the premier AOC from the region, I’m just happy they did as these wines ARE the best value out there.

Music : Its been Zeppelin for the past 18 years for me, along with other classic rock from the ’70s.

Tv: Spartacus is pretty good but Californication has been my favorite for the past couple of years along with most of what HBO and Showtime makes, I feel that everyone else is trying to replicate show that exist about doctors, lawyers or detectives. Pathetic.

Movies : Haven’t seen a good one recently.
