I just realized how much I appreciate Gary. How do these people remember to breathe? The quintessential wine zombies! Sigh!

Did anyone on the tasting panel set up a tip jar to enable them later purchase some of the wines sampled? Or did the fact that wine tasting with Gary was FREE scratch their itch in this area?

I’m glad it’s over, even though I thought it was over with #4. Thanks for the episodes, though.

  • The best thing I am doing – changing the world. Combating the misinformation of the forest and paper industry through a very geeky means that may actually end up changing the whole industry. Sorry for the geek bomb.

Additional thought upon drinking a nice wine tonight: how about a local Italian versus local French white wine taste off that will expand palettes? Verdicchio (made in the home region of my wife, Marche) and Picpoul de Pinet (made maybe 30 – 40 km from where I live) are two varieties of white (the piquepoul and verdicchio grapes) that are kind of local wines that are sold in particular bottles. Maybe there are other types that have eluded me. I taste-off of these wines would be exciting.

  • Oh well no WLtv today- better get busy on “Destroy It” only 25 chapters to go!

    Chapter 7

My Dads business was basically a failure then I pulled my pacifier out of my mouth and said “Daddy, disposable diapers are the way to go” I was only 2 at the time but Charmin really took off! Sadly my dad invested in pancake batter in a milk carton instead- that too took off even sadder we didnt own the patent and .

Next when I was 6 I started the first coupon club for my class-I franchised it and everything- was going great until everyone realized we had no money to buy the stuff the coupons were for. That sucked-

    Chapter 8 coming soon!

  • Bad wines, but always a great show Gary.

PS: Do you always choose at least ONE Beautiful lady to sit next to you? LOL

  • Drew and Shira as flanks, cool.

I have had Jumilla wine before and I like it, too bad you tasted two poor examples. Castillo de Jumilla is quite tasty, bold and fresh, almost sparkly.

I blame Drew’s cancer for these wines sucking as well.

QOTD: the best thing I do is research and applied design; in my work as a project developer it’s crucial to stay three steps ahead of everything or things get piled up fast. I like learning new things and it comes as an added value in this line of work.

    Good show.

I really didn’t enjoy these shows. I have to say that they are the only shows I have actually quit watching before the halfway mark. I like you Gary, and for the most part the guests on the show, but this format with the flirtatious women was not good. You should stick with the audience outside of camera view.
Sorry, but I really missed your show this past week.

So, moving to a new place and not having internet really puts a damper on watching your show GV. I have to catch up on all the NYC week shows, but this one seemed like it was a fun time even though the wines blew. Keep it up! QOTD: I work with kids at a camp for a living. I’m in the middle of hosting a week-long leadership camp for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. I teach kids how to be their best selves. That’s probably the best thing I do. Keep it real.

cannot wait for WLTV NYC week to be over. good concept, but would have made more sense (to me) to have people that are actually interested in wine at the table.

    just sayin…

Love you show as always but I have to say, I’m starting to miss the shows where is just “YOU” and “a little bit of me”. I realize you are addressing the royal Vayner-nation but I love the intimacy that comes with your show, my Mac and my glass of wine. Cheers!

QOTD: Being a pharmacy student, I’m currently out in the real world on clinical rotations, & knowing that daily I am helping people use their medications more effectively or get more appropriate medications for their diseases isincredibly rewarding!

I’m kind of disappointed as Spain is one of my favorite regions for value wines & MOST do not disappoint this much!

Not a fan of this format as a home viewer. I’m sure it would be lots of fun if I were actually there. Best to Drew.

Looking forward to the “regular” format coming back. Thanks for doing the show in any case.

Drew can thank the lovely woman on Gary’s right for the 10 bucks he’ll get once I order a few bottles. I’m sure Gary and Mott and plenty of others at WLTV worked really hard on NY Wine Week, but I’m with the majority here who just didn’t enjoy the episodes as much as the more personal ones. The only thing that got me through this one was the aforementioned girl. It all worked out though–I learned about three wines I should never buy, I go to see the hot girl, and I helped donate 10 bucks to a (very) worthy cause.
