That guy is awesome. I hope he went out and bought some nerd candy after the show. So many Halloweens have brought so much nerd candy to me.

Loved this guy and you two were great. Learn so much about wine – regions and their best wines – will look for Walla Wall cabs!

Good start to the show. Nick seems like an interesting guy. I liked his take on various wine areas. Now on to Part 2…

Nerd candy all day! I favorite was the grape and strawberry box. I could kill 2 or 3 a day.

I am very interested in part 2. Nick is very laid back and funny.

    Great Part 1!!

QOTD: de gustibus non est disputatum – i.e. trust your own palate. I *like* the label. It shows some class.

That said, time, once again, to whip my favourite dead horse.

If your *unedited* hour long interview segments, regardless of how interesting the guest is (and Nick is very interesting) were a wine, I’d rate them a PAZZZZZZZZZZZZ (with 10 Z’s). Overpriced (i.e. overlong by at least twice) for the shoddy quality (i.e. unedited, uneven sound [no problem hearing GV but can’t hear the constantly interrupted guest).

After being blasted by the Thunder Show theme music I could barely hear this episode even at full volume.

Awesome guest! He’s a guy that if I knew who he was and what he did I still wouldn’t be shy to say hey lets go grab a beer somewhere. Again love the shows. It’s because of these shows I have such an appreciation, passion, and enthusiasm for wine.

    Thanks Gary,
    Ryan

My parents are from England – now living in Detroit. They grow gooseberries in their backyard. Missed them too much from the old country.

So – I’ve had lots of gooseberries in my life, but no purple nerds.

    Great conversation.

While I think you were a little disappointed with the Sauv. Blac,I did respect his explanation re the room temperature/chilled preference.

    Looking forward to session 2.

Great ep, Nick! I liked your point about the salivating/quandry of making one both immediately thirsty for another sip, and hungry to taste food simultaneously. And now I am.

G, I totally agree with you that they can lose control of themselves, and end up with runaway fruit which unbalances such beautiful wine, but their error tends to appeal to the sweettoothy palates, and its always at that lower price tier, where the largest numbers in volume, and movement are. I think the high teens to low twenties give more reserved and controlled fruit, a la Kim Crawford, Siefert, and others.
