I met Sasha in the parking lot, directing traffic in the rain, the day before Thanksgiving, Wine Library's biggest day. He took time to talk to me--he's just like he is on the podcast in person--and I was so impressed that he was out there in the parking lot. He's a hard-worker and you see where Gary gets it. Shout out to Sasha, the show's the best when you're on!

Love you show and now find myself frequently using it as an additional reference site. I am also a 'huge' fan of cellartracker and love the fact you are now linked in with them!

A question: I would love your opinion of how the 2007 Caymus compares to and differs with the 2007 Caymus Special Selection (SS). I respect the fact you do frequently take QPR into account and I am interested in what one gets for the extra $40. I have purchased the regular Caymus and as yet i have not purchased the Special selection, nor have I tasted the SS in the past, thus I would love your opinion.

Thanks a million, and congratulations on your books and the huge success and visibility you have achieved.

Always love seeing Dad on the shows....great as usual.

Rumors about the 07's have been flying around for some time now. I've been a big Caymus fan myself. I decided to pick up a few of these from WL the other day.

    Thanks GV and SV!

These episodes always bring a smile. Wine Library needs to have a Sascha section where we see what he has been drinking / recommending.

Great show guys...its always good to see you on the show Sasha.
  • As always, great to see you and your father tussle back and forth. Warms the heart even more than wine. You might want to check out Boheme, made by Kurt Beitler, the farmer for the Belle Glos vineyards. He lives out in the vineyards along the coast, and has a deep appreciation of the unique microclimates farming in such cool vineyards, and how they can be a blessing in creating deep, complex pinots, syrahs and chardonnay.
  • love it. great show

QOTD: I'll go copycat since I have no guess of my own, Jets 23- Dolphins 17.
  • The shows with Sasha are always my favorites.
Talked about your book today, nice work. http://bit.ly/g52Sj
    Cheers!

QOTD: I'll agree with the low-scoring GV prediction of 10-9, Jets, although I don't love the big green, I can't stand the Dolphins.

    Gary,

Great episode with pops. i will look up the link and see if you are in LA or the OC. I just came back from Napa and you are rigth on. The wines are special this year.

Loved the show ... GV your dad is one of a kind man. He is very proud of you.

    QOTD: 24:13 Jets
  • Wow, that was easily one of my favorite episodes in quite a while. Your dad is hilarious!

Also, love the Cinderella Wines. I sent it to my sister in Oregon (who is now cursing me and her budget) since I can't get the wine sent to me here in PA. Keep innovating, Gary!
  • Phil G
Hmmm... it will be the Jet's new receiver Edwards (from Michigan) and company against the Dolphin's new QB Henne (also from Michigan)... I will be rooting for both of them (and some more love for big man Jake Long).

    Jets 27, Fins 17

It's about time Sasha made another appearance. He was awesome as usual. Glad you are finally coming to some other cities like Atlanta. QOTD - Jets 17 Miami 13.
  • Jeff R
Gary - It's always an enjoyable episode when your dad is in attendance. Cherish the time, my friend.

    QTD - Jets 28, Dolphins 10

Coming from a Clevelander, thanks for taking Braylon off our hands. Seriously, I hope a change of scenery does him well. There is a lot of potential there and I hope Jet coaches can get the most out of him.

sasha is the best guest ever!!!
  • Matthew Hale
I agree with BurroBoy. Sasha on a blind tasting show would be great.
  • Hey Gary

Awesome show, your dad cracks me up. He reminds us a lot of Marta's dad.

If AJ's not already doing it, he should be using a Magnesium supplement. In fact, anyone with any type of digestive disease would benefit from a Magnesium supplement.

A great book about magnesium is : "Magnesium Miracle" by Carolyn Dean

A great supplement is: "Natural Calm Magnesium"
    Here's a link to their site: http://bit.ly/1eg1UI

Hope all is well Gary, enjoy LessConf!

  • Please invite your dad to one of the next blind tasting shows...I think it would be great to see your reactions at the same time.
I got to try the Caymus at a nice wine store tasting bar in Naples, Fl back in the summer...two friendly guys were sharing a bottle and we started talking, and they asked if I would taste. Turns out they were contractors that build big ass houses, and they are currently running a project that is in the next town over from us in Vermont...small world. Big wine.

Great show. Dad is a wild card. Just back from Napa . 2007 id going to be a amazing year for bold reds.
  • Craig Hamlet
One of your best shows ever Gary. I was waiting for your review of the 07 Caymus. Everyone told me it was awesome and now you have validated that for me. Thanks
  • Eric S.
Your dad is definitely the best guest you ever have. Love the chemistry between the two of you. What great wines to taste today, my wife and I visted both those vineyards a few years back, fantastic places. Very excited to try the 07 Caymus, have a bottle of the Special Selection that we are saving for a special day to open. Enjoy your trip Sasha!
