  • Hey Gary

Great show. Too be honest I’m not really up on Brunello enough to have a real favourite. The ones I’ve had I’ve enjoyed, but couldn’t tell you much more than that.

    Why do fish sux?

  • QOTD: Can’t say that I have a favorite Brunello. I’m so kicking myself for watching this show “late” and that all three of these wines are sold out at WL.

wow awesome show. i want a brunello. i have to go find one. in regards to the match, i think if it’s two against one it’s called a handicap match. if it’s three against each other, like in this case, i think it’s called a triple threat match. or something like that.

Gary – I’m so glad that you had a spectacular show with three awesome wines. You’ve slogged your way through some really poor wines on our behalf. It gives me, as you might say, sunshine in my insides, that you had three shots of pleasure. Thank you for all you do.

QOTD: I’ve been holding onto two bottles of 2001 (Travaglini, Banfi) and a bottle of 2003 Siro Pacenti Brunello. At the price point, I haven’t cracked any yet….I’ll have to get some 2004 – a lot less expensive than what I paid before.

I used to make a Christmas cake with candied cranberries-it was spectacular.
QOTD: the last Brunello I had was a 2001 Tenuta Vitanza Brunello di Montalcino and I rated it 94, 3 more points than Steven Tanzer.

I thought the Jets really did well in the Monday game.

  • Glad one of the best shows ever was with one of my favorite wines. The 04′ Brunello’s are ripping my face off and from what suppliers tell me the 09′ vintage is gonna be great too.
    QOTD: Podere San Lorenzo (04′)

  • Askold Shegedyn

Sounds good , but aren’t they cheating with the Brunellos? Are you sure that they are sangiovese? Brings up the question: Does it matter if the wines are true to what they advertise or is the fact that they taste good because they cheated? In the end, isn’t that is all that matters?

Hey Gary I tried the 2004 Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino, good fruit and elegance integrated but I think it is not the best effort that these italian vineyards own, here in Mexico it’s so difficult to find a wide range of italian wines!!! I can’t find Il Poggione which many critics describe as one of the best wines in the world!!! Please ship wine into Mexico lol!!!

Please try a show on 2004 Ribera del Duero but not cheaper ones I mean the real stuff, juices like Pingus, Aalto PS, Vega Sicilia Unico and Pesquera Fernandez……
