I dig Samantha Brown, watch her on the Travel channel quite often. I really liked how she had a some different opinions on the wines and didn't just go along with GV. Fun Show! Thx.

Great show and another great guest. Samantha is lovely and seems like a really nice person. I'll have to catch her on the Travel Channel sometime.

QOTD: Since I don't know everywhere you have been, I would say Australia (you didn't mention it) or New Zealand. I think you could do a whole season on those two destinations.
  • Rud Ribeiro
I went to Uruguay and the Vintos Estival was one of the greatest wines I ever tasted!
  • Russ J
Great show, GV! I love Samantha Brown: great smile, great laugh.
QOTD: Samantha at the Jersey Shore??
  • Dr. Dan
Been a big fan of S. Brown on the Travel Channel for many years. Samantha is a delight, so charming and unassuming. One of those people that you sense is the same on, or off, camera, and one you would love to chat with at a cocktail party sometime.

New trips for Samantha: South Africa or New Zealand.
  • Richie
QOTD: Grindelwald in Switzlerland. Great place to be.
  • J Crazy
You have to, HAVE TO go to Japan for the Sakura (cherry blossom) viewing festivities in Japan. I'll be your translator and guide if needed. And you would be remiss not to east some of the most excellent food (including sushi and wagyu but by no means without competition for best food in japan title) such as wild boar potted stew and chicken sashimi. Hit me up and we'll get it crackin for next spring.
  • hollisdevillo
hahahaha, great show, she's awesome, i'm going to watch her show.

QOTD: i want you to go to Taiwan.
other QOTD: look up "cool" in the dictionary and there's a picture of gary. :)

  • QOTD: Israel
  • Sara L.
QOTD: Would also love to see you in Cambodia. I ate fried tarantulas there...
  • winelover
love to see you in champagne or bordeaux areas..... get the inside in little towns and people who work on vineyard....what do the prefer to drink, and eat...

When I think of wine from Uruguay, I think of Tannat or Torrontes. I've had nice Tannat blends from Uruguay.

PA sells a Trinchero Petit Verdot which is pretty good.

QOTD: Some places in Europe that you haven't visited yet.
  • Good solid show. Makes me want to watch the Travel Channel. She is a doll. I'm on the Brown-er nation now!

QOTD: Sam, come to North Carolina! love to see ya.
  • pawncop
Great episode and great guest. Good wines, am a big fan of the South American varietals.

QOTD - I would suggest a series of places here in the U.S., with so much o the world looking down their nose to us maybe we should see the wonders we have here to enjoy.
  • Phil G
    Nice...

QOTD - been to great places... how about checking out fun/exciting/remote/important US sites? Lots of cool things to see and do here!
  • Infms40
They forgot to rinse the glasses on the last pour. I mean I would be tempted to keep pouring wine for Samantha too in that situation but that has to alter the tast of the wine greatly. Mot the 89 pt score is bogus! "When was the last time GV forgot to rinse the wine glass?" that should be a trivia question!
  • wyld
    Nice show!

QOTD: I dont know where you been, but how about Cambodia? Try them spiders they eat in what was that place called.?.?
  • nice show to come back to after a short absence...the satellite is slow so this is the only one I'm going to get in tonight, from a several episode backlog...
No TV for several years but we've seen Samantha when we were traveling and had hotel tv. super down to earth and that counts for a lot.
I hope you poured her another glass of whatever she wanted.

Keep your eyes on the northern valleys of Chile...the Limari and Elqui.

QOTD: maybe debunk some questionable destinations like Scranton, PA?
  • What a freakin awesome show GV!

QOTD: I would like to see you go to Eastern Euorpe, specifically Sarajevo and cover the culture and how it is affected by war, Islam, communism and explore the many awesome foods and landscapes.
  • Riche
    LOVED THE SHOW !!!
    Samantha's a hoot.
  • QOTD: I haven't seen your show but you should definitely do the polar bear express in Canada. You go to Churchill Manitoba and watch the polar bears migrate across hudson bay.
  • Really good show. I love Samantha Brown mainly because I like her voice and she usually wears bikinis on her show, but still, good guest.
  • QOTD: I've never heard of this lady but I did love how she couldn't come up with a travel question! I think, if she's been pretty much everywhere, maybe a stint in Papua New Guinea.

Nice to see a showing from Uruguay on the show, thats the first on here from Uruguay right?

Good mix of wine, v.informative, liked it.
  • BobbyTiger
    QOTD-

    My house, of course.
  • YoungDave
QOTD: Samantha- Go down under- Australia (GREAT food and wine scene near Melbourne), New Zealand, Tasmania!
  • Wowza. I've been off traveling and I come back to find a Samantha Brown ep! You weren't kidding when you said you had some great episodes in the works! Strong work, Gary. There was enjoyable chemistry between the two of you.

QotD: I don't watch Sam regularly, so I don't know where she hasn't visited. But I think it would be very cool to have her visit some of the great places of Russia.
  • Peter
Hi, Gary. Great shows the past couple of weeks. I'm anxiously looking for you to taste the wine I gave you at Watchung Booksellers a couple of weeks ago. Here are some additional details about the wine.

Domaine Cordoliani’s La Perle Noire, 100% old-vine Carignan from Corsica. The June 2008 Revue du Vin de France rannked this wine #1 under New Discoveries. The purchase price was $17, giving this wine an amazing QPR in my opinion. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
  • Nice episode. I ha ve seen her on the travel channel shows, awesome guest.

    QOTD: Iceland.
  • Beeper
QOTD: How about a tour of every country on the mediterranean - gibraltar to gibraltar
  • Great wines, great guest, great show. Definitely have to check out the latter two. I do enjoy some of the wines out of Casablanca.

QOTD: I'm going to echo the the previous suggestion of South Africa.
  • Mike in C-town
thanks for the trip to SBGV's

QOTD: Tahiti, because all I know about it comes from Gaugin
  • J Dubb
I am a big fan of Samantha Brown's and of her shows. This was one of the better guest shows Gary has done. Usually he talks over guests (Dr. Vino) or kisses their a$$ (Heidi Barrett or Wayne Gretsky) but Samantha held her own. Great job!

QOTD: what about Samantha Brown's Passport to Wine? She is already in all the great locations of the world anyway why not sample the local wines while she is at it? That is a show I would watch. Samantha, just remember where you heard the idea;-)
