I've been holding on to a couple of bottles that I ordered immediately, the day of the Budge episode. Was wondering when the right occasion would be, to bring one out...I think this is deserving.
I raise a glass to you Budge.

Thank you Gary for introducing the Vaner nation to this warm, passionate and caring man.
Unfortunately, one year and eight days after airing this episode, Budge died in a plane crash.
This episode was so compelling that I actually got to meet him and interviewed for a job with his winery. Things didn't materialize and we went our seperate ways, but news of this tragic death has hit me extremely hard. We have lost a truely genuine person and great man. A loss for the wine industry, cancer victims and their families and society as a whole. Thank you Gary, for introducing us to this wonderful man. RIP Budge...

I don't know how else to communicate to the Vayner Nation, but I thought I should pass along this sad news. Apparently Robert H. “Budge” Brown's airplane recently went down and he is missing. You may recall that Budge owns Cleavage Creek Winery and he appeared on WLTV episode #861 - he was a great guy and the "real deal" when it comes to charity. For the full story see the following:
